Our dog is microchipped with Smarttrace. I had a couple of queries and I emailed Smarttrace and Bree replied back to me promptly. Bree was able to help with my queries and when I was unable to print my keepers certificate, Bree sent me a pdf of the certificate for me to print off. They were helpful at Smarttrace.
You can't speak to a human on the phone unless you call the emergency line (which one probably shouldn't do unless there is an emergency), and if you need to change your address (ie if you move home), there is a one-off £25 fee that you have to pay, to allow you to change address and phone number. This seems ludicrous.

Trying to get through to these people is impossible I keep getting cut off and getting nowhere. I emailed 5 days ago and still not had any response

Complete rip off. Plenty companies that do not charge you to change the details of the chip use any other one. Also doesn't take a week for other companies to do what you asked them to. It's a joke. Wish ypu could transfer the chip to another company!

I emailed them as I couldn't find how to remove a pet that had died. Joanne's reply was informative and efficient, but it was also kind and sympathetic.
Awful company,had three cats and my little dogs chipped.was told my Wendi Taylor in darwen it was free to register them.a tenner a pet.after rubbish of them being told they was updating there site being ignored on top of it they doubled there registered fee for each pet.think it's gone up since.awful sneaky company.once you pet has a chip of these rip off merchants in there neck you are buggered.especialy if you have multiple pets chipped.the government really need to look into these thieves.got my cats chipped and my dog as it was the law.refused to be ripped off by these thieves.

Oct 24,2024Very disappointed with smart trace my microchip number is already registered to another dog and the customer service is slow and shocking it takes days not within two hours to get a reply. Had my microchip number confirmed by the vets and still smart trace saying my number is wrong with no customers support. Avoid at all costs
