I HAVE JUST MADE THE MISTAKE OF JOINING THIS SHOWER AND I WISH I HAD NEVER HAD, THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS APPALLING TO SAY THE LEAST. THEY ACTUALLY LIE TO GET YOU OFF THE PHONE. EVEN WHEN THEY ENTERED MY READINGS THE WRONG WAY ROUND THERE WAS NO APOLOGY. THE MANAGERS WONT SPEAK TO YOU, THE COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE DOES NOT WORK. I EVEN SENT AN EMAIL TO THERE HEAD OF CUSTOMER SERVICES WITH NO REPLY FROM HIM AT ALL. THIS LOT HAVE LEFT ME WITH NO MONEY FOR CHRISTMAS.

They are the worst at dealing with faults . Everything is fine till something breaks down . I have an small child and have had no heating all day . They sent me two miles away to get a gas card . That was the nearest , and we have had to go three times as they never do it right . We ve been dealing with this since midday and is almost 7pm in between calls and visits to the nearest two mile away pay point shop . Total waste of time . Avoid them at all costs . As soon as this is done I will change providers

JUst joined SSE my God I wish I had not, on average just to get through to the ERM ! CUSTONER servive ! is taking between 10 - 15 min and thats just to give them my starting meter reading as they can not read my smart meter (not that smart eh!) anyway im trying to get through just now and sitting at 12 min, so if you are thinking of joining this mob please think again, they are feckin hopeless eb=ven if you do get through its like talking with the dead, BEWARE SSE oh God !! my phone is dying and so am I :-{

recently changed heating from night storage heaters to german electric system so needed to change meters. Took 3 x 50 minute calls to even arrange an appointment any day any time suited.. finally when an appointment was arranged it was for 4 weeks time meantime we are paying a much higher tarriff than we need to. B een a customer with scottish hydro and sse for 40 years . Customer service does not seem to matter

I changed my electricity supplier from SSE to EON last year. I then discovered that SSE had continued to charge me 69 pounds every month for a service they no longer provided me. When I logged into their website I discovered that I was almost 1000 pounds in credit! I know I should have cancelled my direct debit with them but what kind of company continues to charge a customer that has left them?! Absolute w*nkers!

Been with this company for years, rang through to customer service as i am moving home, spoke to Caroline Walker, absolutely a delight on the phone and so helpful, explained all the tariffs, and got the best deal for me. Brilliant high recommend this company.

I was 1 year with them on Gas and Electric. Everything went fine until the last bills. They didn't refund the stated amount, and they've also charged my account by direct debit for another month. After reaching out customer services, they replied to my queries after 10 days, rather than one as stated in their automated email. After 3 emails sent back to them, they sent revised paper bills, which have some odd adjustments which don't make any sense. I just requested the annual statement to see transparently what the consumption was and what I've been charged. It's a waiting game again. I don't recommend this company to anyone. I've been with several others over the years, but never ever had any issues with my refunds and account balance. Also, I found it impossible to create an online account. It kept asking me for a code which was meant to arrive by post. It never did, nor I could find a way to request another one. Please do yourself a favour and steer away from SSE.

We are in the process of moving house and moving our SSE account from our current house to our new one. I rang SSE and had the very good fortune to speak to an adviser named Daniel, what a stroke of luck, he talked me through all my options, explained everything in simple terms and also rang me back twice when we couldn't locate who was supplying the gas to the new house.(British Gas, a lot more expensive). He was absolutely brilliant and all I can say is, if more people were as efficient it would make life a lot less stressful.Thank you Daniel.

Customer service here is excellent and efficient. I have been a customer of sse for 9 years and have never had any issues with them and they always go above and beyond to help. For example adding me to careline when I was pregnant so that my calls are dealt with as a priority! Also they have a great rewards scheme and have had M&S and Amazon vouchers which is always a nice treat! Keep up the great work. :)

After being with SSE for several years i decided that a change was as good as a rest. I decided to change my supplier to another just to save myself a bit of money. I have now been with my new supplier for about 4 months and have now received a final unpaid bill for £116.65. how can this be? its a key meter that i have so only pay for what i use. Customer service was no help to me what so ever and said that i had to pay the outstanding amount. I explained i am a 72 year old lady and that i have never had a monthly bill and that i always had a key meter. They wouldnt explain what this outstanding bill was for? Is there anyone out there that may throw some light on this for me please? I'm thinking i may contact the Ombusman.

Just found out off my meter reading bloke my meter been broken past 18mths and he's requested it to be fixed several times - which means past 18mths they have been estimating by bills by previous working 3 meter readings. Are you kidding me?? Been paying winter prices past 18mths as it broke 'around November 2015'. . Meter guy stood with me while I called you. You didn't answer but told me you'd call me back within 2 minutes- that was 45 mins ago - and since then I've called you back four times - same 'within 2mins' message...... meter dude now gone. Now been over hour since first message. Seriously?

We have been with Southern Electric for many years and have always found them to be really helpful and really friendly. They have always made sure we were on the best tarif for us. We have our gas and electric with them and I cannot fault them. The call centres are UK based so speaking to them is always very easy. All in all very pleased with the service

Electric is good for me and lasts a fortnight in a one bed flat on pay as you go 20 pound lasts a forthnight however the gas is outrageous and goes like that on pay as you go so electric yes gas err no

Received my online bill via email which informed me I could save with their 1 year fixed term v11 rate. Telephoned to arrange and was told this was full (Only 3 days after the email?) nice guy Danny gave me a number to call the following day however when I called was told no sorry all full even after talking to their manager there was no shift. Only other offer was nowhere near as good and customer loyalty counted for nothing. Wanted to give them a chance to match comparisons but not interested? Poor customer service in my eyes.......I wonder if anyone will bother to read and respond to this review.......will give them a couple of days if not I'm switching provider.

Great customer service! Have recently become a customer of SSE and have received great customer service on the phone and on the online chat. Every time I've had a question or query, it's been resolved in a friendly manner and even during a query regarding meter readings, the customer service agent told me about a cheaper tariff that might be of some use to me. Would recommend!

My dad is getting letters from this place saying he owes them 526.90 : / he's never eve been with these and we pay are electric pay as you go with economy electric i can't see why there sending him letters saying they will be taking him court of he don't pay the full amount well they will have to take him court becuase there not getting a penny horrible people

Very poor service just moved into a new address and changed to another provider ... The previous company had this company got a bill through wants £37.12 standing charge for less than 30 days..With no gas used this seems well over the top.. Customer service says its correct... So this company would of charged me £365.00 a year just for having the Gas connected without any use........... I'm pleased i moved to a better company.. Edit

Southern Electric or SSE as they call themselves told me a few years back that I was paying enough money per month. Each bill I received told me that they owed me amounts leading to £280 in credit. No meter reader ever came and I foolishly only read the large bold letters "WE OWE YOU £280". Therefore when I lost my home I called them expecting some fluctuation in what I was told but they informed me it was £1,200 I OWWED THEM! How can they not pay due diligence? How can this happen and how many people suffer at this companies greedy little trotters???

For the past year I have been on the SSE 1 year fixed v6 tariff which was 1.99p per kwh gas and 9.65p per kwh electricity. It comes to an end next month. I have received notification of their new charges which will be gas 4.18p per kwh and electricity 17.64p per kwh Gas prices going up more than 100%!!!!! Electricity going up nearly 100%. Inflation at 2%.
