In 2001, a customer named Jen was building her dream home in southern Michigan and wanted a beautiful stairway. She could see what she wanted in her mind, but the stair parts she wanted were not available through normal outlets. She wanted unique iron balusters with custom box newels. Although it was a complicated layout they made it very easy from start to finish. Every part and piece was clearly labeled and came with concise and thorough installation instructions. The aluminum railing system was beautiful and well designed and both us and our customer are extremely happy!!

My project was not straight forward and required a lot of custom work which demanded a lot more time from Stair Supplies to make sure I understood their product well enough to modify it for my project. They were very good, responsive, professional yet personable with all requests, very impressed. The project is complete and is an elegant solution that looks great, I would do it again.

Feb 18,2020Product was good. Return policy not so much. They did give me a discount on my reorder however it still costed me 1200.00. My reorder came and one stair had a knot hole. I had to jump through all kinds of hoops to get it resolved. They agreed to give 25.00 the tread cost 100.00. My contractor had to fix it. Still to this day I haven't received the 25.00.

Feb 18,2020I found shopping on the site very easy. The large variety of options had me thinking awhile about what I wanted for a look but I got there eventually. I chose the 6100 handrail with plow and the 4000F fluted newel. I found the quality of the wood to be better than what I could find in my local lumber yard. Having the handrail stained and the newels primed also saved me a lot of mess and time. I'm not a pro and have never done stair rail or newels before but i'm the kind of guy who always wants to give it a try. I'm glad I went with the plow on the handrail because it helped me cover a few less than perfect cuts. I wasn't smart enough to notice there was a 4 inch difference from the ends on the carved in flute on the newel. So I just started to cut them to the needed length before I discovered the design wasn't spaced out right. I covered up my mistake by alternating the design so I can claim it was on purpose. But if you want to do a better job, pay attention before you cut anything, lol. If I ever find myself in the need again this will be the site I go to.

Feb 18,2020I thought the website was easy to use, especially the design tool. I played around until I got the look I wanted for my house. I am no designer so that tool was ideal. The design tool also kicked out the order for me, eliminating mistakes with product order numbers, so there were no mistakes. I even got a call after I placed the order on-line from a customer service person that verified my order numbers and asked questions of me to insure I was ordering parts correctly. Great people to work with. Great website. All product was shipped when they said it would be and the order was complete with no missing parts. Yes, when I build or renovate another house, definitely I will use these guys.
