Jan 18,2025My initial understanding when entering into an agreement with Tax Wise was that they would be able to greatly reduce my $5511 in owed taxes accumulated in three different tax years. All they actually did was get my account into a non-collectible status based on my making proper returns and payments on current and future returns. I was told today by my agent upon reaching this agreement (nearly a year after beginning $85/mth payments) that the IRS would “probably” write off my balance due. I told the agent that knowing that, I probably could have done this myself, to which he claimed it was very hard for someone like me to get a hardship status approved. He also explained that I still have an outstanding balance with the HAC loan company, but was unable to give me their contact information. (He later texted it to me) Also, getting back through to this agent was nearly impossible as I screen unknown numbers such as his direct line, so waited about 8 minutes on hold until hanging up and calling their main switchboard, only to have to leave a message. As an older person who years ago was used to prompt, personal service, this experience with Tax Rise from start to finish was filled with unanswered calls, my calls put in lengthy holds, and robot quality service.

Jan 17,2025I AM SO THANKFUL FOR TAXRISE, THEY ARE ANGELS THAT WORK XTRA HARD FOR THEIR CLIENTS. I WILL TELL YOU TO GO AND TALK TO THEM, THEY WILL GET U RITE. THEY TOOK VERY GOOD CARE OF ME. MY TAX BILL WAS WIPED OUT. HONESTLY THIS IS THE BEST TAX PEOPLE EVER. 1000%. The people who work here are so nice and concerned with your problems. They go all out for you.

Jan 17,2025Update! After leaving my I initial review Don't walk Run I will be doing a revision. After leaving my review I was contacted by a Rep from tax rise regarding my experience, After speaking with her she agreed that something went wrong and I am happy that accountability was taken. There is something to be said for honesty. I would suggest if you use Tax Rise make sure they do your taxes or have them prepared elsewhere and use Tax Rise for the services that they offer. assured me that measures would taken to offer a better customer experience make sure to ask about your deductions and remember the IRS can only go back 6 yrs on your taxes. The rep asked what could she do to make things better. I asked her to refund the 375 fee I paid and she did. This is why it's good to have a platform like trustpilot where people can leave their honest reviews and experiences to help others as well as the companies to improve on your customer service. It is people like this rep that make bad experiences better.

Jan 17,2025While I recognize that TaxRise personnel are working diligently on my case, I feel like certain aspects of my situation, which I communicate every time we’re in contact, are not getting factored in consistently to the negotiation of my resolution. I signed up to get a negotiated lower tax debt that I could reasonably clean up over time. It appears that the state debt is not lower at all, and the “final” resolution of my debt leaves a tax lien for 3 years (when the debt is fully paid off). The lien prevents me from selling my house to pay off debts and still have enough left over to buy a new home. Also, it seems like the methods for documenting my case and communicating with me are likewise inconsistent: sometimes I get a phone call, sometimes an email, sometimes messages are sent on the portal… The amount I am paying for the service may actually not be set off by any reductions in the debt, leaving me paying even more.
