I was not able to study abroad during college, so enrolling in the intern group Madrid Program was a way for me to experience working and living in a different country and culture. I had a truly unforgettable experience, not only was the professional experience invaluable, but the immersive experience as well. I grew so much as a person and felt completely supported by the incredible intern group team. I cannot thank my coordinator Lalita enough, as even when I was struggling she went above and beyond to work with me in order to get as much our of my experience as possible.
My aim before coming to Madrid was to gain confidence speaking in Spanish. This is a programme which you have to pay for and that comes with risk in itself but if you are looking for an experience to enhance your skills, then The Intern Group can be an amazing opportunity. I knew I had to push myself out of my comfort zone if I wanted to succeed. As any commitment, it would involve my time, focus and energy. When searching for my specific internship the team helped me match my passion. The company was amazing and they helped me gain experience and I felt part of a team. I was also very lucky to connect with the other interns and I built lifelong friendships. Overall, my internship in Madrid with The Intern Group was incredible!!
I got it in writing that The Intern Group would refund me if I cancelled the internship. I was going to do a remote, online internship in Accounting or Finance. I put my cancellation in writing (as required) and received an email that they started the refund process and it could take up to 21 days. I waited until 3 business days before my money should be in my bank account and I sent them a reminder email about my refund. Two days later I get an email from them asking for my bank information - routing number, account number, is this bank in US or not, etc. AND the email said that once I provide this information to them, to give them 21 more days to process my refund. SCAM!! I emailed back and told them that they have my bank info from when I paid them and that I do not give out this info in an email message. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE A SCAM.
Unfortunately it is not a good option for those who are seeking to boost their (digital) product management skills. Based on my experience, very few clients have a structured product department, and the advisory team does not even know what this role is about. In short, I'd highly recommend that you attend online bootcamps, sign up for IT courses, and look for companies yourself. This would increase the chances for you to save money and get a better PM internship.
I did a summer internship in HK during 2021. I asked to be assigned to a company with finance related task. During the first interview with a company I got assigned to, the interviewer did not even show up. The other company I interviewed for seemed to be decent and they also sent me a document of the things I would do at their company. When i arrived in HK and started working I soon realized the whole internship was pretty much a "scam". The company I worked for had absolutely 0 interest in assigning me any meaningful tasks and I spent overall 8 weeks doing copy paste from LinkedIn to excel. Things got to a point where I told them I was going to quit unless they gave me something to do which was not entirely useless. Also worth mentioning was that my manager was not present for over 50 % of the time. The other people who came to HK (with the intern group) also had similar experiences where one guy (who also asked for a finance job) was assigned to a law firm which also had no idea what to do with their intern. In addition to this, the place where you stay is not the best. My room was about 2 square meters and only had a 90 cm bed and a cupboard for clothes in it, nothing more. In addition, the walls were thin as paper and you can hear everything through the walls. However, we had a very nice common living space in the bottom where you had the opportunity to meet a lot of friends since no one wanted to stay in their claustrophobic rooms. Overall, I truly enjoyed my time in HK because the city is wonderful and the people there as well. However, I cannot say the same thing about the intern group, and I would only suggest you use them if you absolutely have no other choice. They charge you a ridicules fee and you get nothing in return.
What I thought would be nothing but a valuable working experience, turned out to be a journey of personal growth, cultural discoveries and finding independence. My work placement was a great success, since it matched my skills, but also challenged me from time to time. While I focused on work during weekdays, the Intern Group organized various events for the weekends. Brian, our supervisor in NYC, was always very forthcoming and full of enthusiasm! I was always looking forward to seeing and experiencing new exciting things, having interesting conversations with people from all over the world and building profound friendships.
I was a digital nomad intern in Madrid for 10 weeks. The people of Madrid are super friendly, even if your Spanish isn't great. Since my internship was online, I was free to travel basically whenever, and travelling to different places in Spain was really easy since Madrid is basically in the middle of the country. Plus, there's a ton of cool things to see in Madrid, and some of my favorite memories are exploring the city with the other interns. The Madrid program had some awesome events and recommendations to give the interns an opportunity to get to know each other. I don't think I can recommend a program in Madrid enough.
My time at The Intern Group in Hong Kong was with two words: pretty amazing! I applied because I had to find an internship internationally in fall 2021 as part of my university degree. Having done some market research, I concluded that TIG was the most experienced in this field. Summing up what they most helped me with, I would say: - Visa and Covid precautions - Contact person and coordinator at the desired location (Sau Yi, what a guy!!!) - Assistance with finding the right internship, using their network, improving your CV format etc. - Housing & quick networking/finding friends in Hong Kong - Weekly events amongst all the other interns (dinners, hikes, trips) So is it possible to have the same experience without TIG? Yes, absolutely Is it likely you will enjoy your limited time there just as much? Most likely not because living in new environments and gathering internship opportunities has a lot to do with who you know and how much you know and at least in this department I can say that The Intern Group Hong Kong program that has a fantastic program manager in Sau and that it is very smooth to dive into your new life in Hong Kong thanks to TIG.
I just finished my 6 week internship in the Journalism field. It was amazing, I worked at Interface Tourism. The Intern Group gave me a once in a lifetime opportunity! Madrid is an amazing city, has lots of places to discover and my time here hasn´t been enough!
New York City 100% would recommend. Communication from start to finish is great (especially during Covid and all the problems that caused with travelling, Visas etc). They managed to find me an Internship that was exactly what I asked for. Accommodation was even better than expected, clean, good size and great location. Weekly excursions were a great way to see more of the city and meet new people. Stayed for 12 weeks in total and my only negative is I didn’t do longer. Also team leader in NY, Brian, is great. Brian if you’re reading this, you the G.O.A.T.
I am changing careers in my early 40's. Started my graduate degree and signed up to join The Intern Group. It was the greatest experience I've had in the past 24-years of working world. I learned valuable training that can help me move onto bigger and better opportunities in the future
The intern group was flexible with me from the beginning. I wanted to make sure I had a job that fulfilled a lot of different requirements for my school while also being enjoyable for me. They helped place me in a wonderful just, and found me a beautiful apartment right in the middle of Madrid. They were always there for things I needed, big or small to help me adjust to life in a place I knew nothing about.
This is a great way to meet people, learn new things and explore a new city. You’ll be offered a range of activities with other interns and you’ll build friendships that will last a lifetime! You also have the freedom to travel as much as you wish not only In Spain but Europe.
My internship with the Intern Group was remarkable, to say the least. I did the 8-week digital nomad program in New York City. I wasn't sure what to expect when embarking on this journey into a city I'd never lived in before. I was truly amazed at how much of an impact it had on the next steps of my career. We had a superb program advisor who knew the city inside and out and took us on outstanding excursions on the weekends while still leaving time during the week to venture on my own and allow time for me to work for my company. What I will say though is that what you get out of this program is what you put into it. I now currently reside in New York thanks to this program, but only because I took initiative to find employment here that would allow me to stay. I was determined to make the most out of this experience and for it to have a significant impact on my career outlook; and that it did. While it was definitely not a cheap journey to embark on, it was well worth it as long as you go into it with an open mind and determined heart. To anyone interested, I would highly recommend doing a program longer than 8 weeks as it tends to fly by and you will get a better bang for your buck.
This is my best travel experience ever. I got the chance to travel Europe and work in the best company ever in the field of chemical engineering. I made new connections and met very amazing people from my flat mates to work and outside work. I will say Madrid is also very fun and have got very good nightlife! The program manager Lalita also did a great job from attending to needs and organizing social events which helped the on-program interns make connections. Finally, I can say that I have totally benefited from the working culture in Madrid. Thank you TIG and to everyone who made my stay in Madrid fun!
Just come back from my internship in Toronto, Canada that was provided by TIG - I am very grateful for this experience. Not only did they provide me a chance to get some valuable work experience, but the chance to go live abroad for two months and enjoy a new environment. All the staff that I was in contact with during the period of setting up the internship were very helpful and always there if I had any issues or any questions. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
Highly recommend, offer great internships that you wouldn't be able to find. Have great connections and offer valuable programme that includes a lot of useful resources.
I have had a very positive experience with TIG. The staff are very helpful, approachable and friendly. I wanted work experience/an internship with a company that best matched my academic and personal abilities, which this company sourced. I would definitely recommend The Intern Group.
My experience with The Intern Group was amazing. I participated in a 2 month internship from March to April this year and I was very lucky with the company I was able to secure as it was extremely interesting and overall a very valuable experience. From the beginning, the Intern Group has been very open and clear with me in the organisation of my internship. On arrival, there was a driver waiting to take me to my accommodation which was extremely helpful and left a great impression of the Intern Group. Lalita was super helpful and always available throughout my time in Madrid, she was very busy organising events for all of the interns which made the experience even better! The accommodation we had compared to other interns was not the best but it was nothing too bad to complain about. I was also very lucky with the flatmates I had as they made the experience even better. Now that I have finished my internship, alumni benefits such as the 1 hour career call have been very helpful. Thank you Intern Group!

Jul 26,2022Overall I loved my time with the intern group. They were very helpful in communication and helping me get to my designated country before arrive and only continued to be amazing assistance whilst there. They placed me with a great host. As I was apart of the digital nomad program I had more freedom to explore Hong Kong which they always supported. The plans activities were always fun and I feel I have made international friends for life. My stay with there provided accommodation with perfect/safe. I didn’t have any problem in the process. There was always someone to contact if I needed assistance or advice. The work modules were also useful providing content on career advancement which I can now apply to future roles. I would definitely recommend this program to a friend as I had the time of my life.
