We at The Lounge Co. know what makes a great sofa. We’ve got the best furniture makers in the country for starters; we’re part of a group which includes Parker Knoll, G Plan and Duresta, and have been making fantastic quality sofas and chairs for decades - it’s safe to say we know our stuff. Our craftsmen have tested and tweaked every one of our twelve sofas and six chairs over and over again to get them just right. Our frames are thoroughly thought through, made in the UK and guaranteed for 10 years.
Ordered sofas and paid deposit in September 2021. We have had poor communication, have had to chase this company to get an initial update. Once we were in contact, they said they’d have our sofas by April 2022 and the delay was due to fabric shortages. In April 2022 we were told the sofas wouldn’t be in until 20th May and we’d be contacted to arrange delivery. We received a text two weeks ago stating the order was ready and we duly arranged delivery for 25th May, booking holidays from work. On 20th May we received an email to say ‘fabric shortages had delayed production plans’ and we were not receiving our furniture as planned - clearly our order was not ready. Nine months is an unacceptable wait for sofas, with poor communication and an attempt to deceive customers - the order was never ready and the initial booked delivery date was only to placate irritated customers. Would not recommend. Update - it’s now almost a year since ordering and we have been told on several occasions the order is due to be delivered, and that we would be contacted a few days prior to confirm. Once that date passes, I have chased the order (again, continuing poor communication) only to be given a flimsy excuse and meaningless platitudes. So far there has been ‘a holiday for the delivery company’, ‘fabric shortages’ and the catch-all term ‘circumstances beyond our control’. I have asked for a call from someone senior but have not received any contact as yet.
AVOID! We ordered our sofa on the 20th OCT 2021!!! It's now mid May 2022 and still no sign of it. In this time we stupidly got rid of our old sofa expecting our sofa when Wincanton arranged a delivery date in March, my baby was born the 23rd March and no sofa. Lounge Co suspended the delivery without our knowledge and here we still are being led round and round in circles Update 15th June: I gave Trust pilot my order details heard nothing. My partner rang today, had another message from Wincanton to say its ready for delivery just for it to be sudpended again the same day, Lounge & Co now saying half of the sofa is missing (right hand chaise)?!
Settee looks fabulous, slight confusion on the delivery date? Hence 4 stars, but worth the wait, lovely 4 seater blue settee
Lovely chair but what a pity about the length of time between ordering it (early January) and delivery (7May). No explanation or contact from The Lounge co. Only communication was from Wincanton who delivered it. I do think that some sort of update from the Lounge co would have been good.
A long delivery period but the quality of the sofa is excellent.
Quality of cushions excellent but rather expensive, I have a sofa which was excellent value for money and my only complaint was the feet of the sofa do not sit well , they look cheap which spoils the overall effect.
I purchased a chair & sofa through Furniture Village. Both items are fine. However, my sons puppy chewed the legs of the chair. I’ve had quite a lot of email contact with Customer Service & paid for 4 new legs. All was going well until a parcel arrived unannounced containing 4 dark brown lumps of wood. They look nothing like my chair legs. I contacted TLC immediately, since then nothing other than advice about the time scales involved. I’m currently £142 out of pocket with chewed chair legs and no replacements in sight. Hopefully, this review may have a positive effect & I’ll see the correct chair legs soon. My review did exactly what I wanted it to & prompted a phone response. Laura did exactly what she said she would & phoned me to sort out the issue. There’s still going to be a bit of a wait, but because of this a generous gesture of goodwill has been made. It’s such a shame that there were previous problems as I really like my furniture, the quality is good, it’s just that the aftercare was a bit iffy. UNFORTUNATELY, AFTER THE INITIAL FLURRY OF ACTIVITY I STILL HAVE NO CHAIR LEGS & EMAILS ARE GOING UNANSWERED. I have now spoken to Esther by phone. Considering she was my initial contact at The Lounge Company, she had absolutely no idea what was going on. Eventually, I got a callback to say the legs have been dispatched. Hopefully, they’re the right ones.
In fairness feel need to provide update, - my cushions were delivered last week (beautiful) and monetary refund was also made, Very satisfied after initial muddle. Have only put 1 star as I imagine this is for our order of 4 cushions which were ordered and paid for on Jan 3rd and still have not received!!! After chasing earlier this week was told they had been delivered and signed for - unfortunately not by me - I live in Norfolk and they were delivered to Dorset!!!. Am still awaiting an update as to what has happened and if/when they will arrive.
Recently bought a sofa from branch in Chiswick. So so pleased with my sofa, great quality stylish and hard wearing in my busy home. Can not fault customer service, easy, helpful and quick delivery. Would highly recommend x
Visited the Chiswick store of The Lounge Company and I would like to write a review as I was so impressed by the level of knowledge and understanding the staff showed. I was made to feel very welcome and relaxed. I will definitely be back to put an order through once our builders have moved out. All in all a great experience and I highly recommend this store.
I would definitely use the Lounge Co. again - the personalised service I received from the Manager was excellent as I needed some direction on what would suit our home! I didn’t feel rushed but the guidance gave me time to analyse what would meet my families needs. I am so happy with the sofas and the delivery, I took my aunt along and she too is delighted with the quality and style of her sofas.
I was not familiar and it came under my attention due to the store visibility. I entered the shop to have a look and have more options for my sofa need. I was allowed to go around and see and the most interesting was when I asked questions about the production, materials, fabric, options available. That’s when the quality of the dialogue and invaluable informations let to a decision, which is not what I was expecting. I consider I was lucky day that I found this store as all the staff, starting with the manager, were so helpful and enable my purchase decision. It was both the design, comfort, attractiveness of the product and the quality of the team, especially the manager that made the difference due to quality of the explanations and I would add also friendliness of the team.
I would give this review no stars if that was possible! Ordered the Romilly three seater sofa and chair on the 9th of January 2022. Paid a large deposit. Delivery was scheduled for 9 weeks. Delivery then delayed, beginning until of April. Old furniture collected. However Furniture village of Hull, the store, had failed to notify us that delivery had been postponed and they had been informed some days earlier. Had they notified us when they had been informed of this delay, we could have prevented our furniture from being collected! It’s a long story and we have made complaint after complaint but the upshot was delivery was then going to be beginning of May!! I have found out today , again by ringing the store namely furniture village of Hull, that delivery is not going to be until the earliest, 7/6/2022!! . Furniture village of Hull have not chased up the delivery dates at all, even though they had told me that they had flagged this order in view of the inordinate delay. I find it atrocious that the Lounge furniture company, have given a date of week commencing 2/5/2022 for delivery to the depot and then today I find the date is now 7/6/2022!! (although i’m not holding my breath for this date either.) This sofa is still being advertised online, on the furniture Village website that delivery is in 9 weeks from the of order! This is not the case at all. The lounge furniture company should give proper and due date of expectation, in this case, 5 months or 20 weeks from the date of order not 9 as advertised
Really poor customer service experienced before we've even tried to place a sizable order for our new house. As previous reviewers have said, the sale team or customer service teams are simply indifferent have no interest in being remotely helpful. The furniture we intended to buy, comes to roughly 4.8k. We simply want to see it before buying and keep being directed to stores that no longer trade with them, or Furniture Village... where the product is "slightly different" and in our experience the staff have no great knowledge on the products. To quote the manager in one of the stores, "it's not my problem to deal with, I only deal with Chiswick." Given this is the level of service that we see now, I can fully understand why so many companies no longer deal with them directly. Lounge Co. is in no way a "national" company any longer. They have burned their bridges it would seem with everyone north of Sheffield and anyone still working for them directly, doesn't seem to have a clue as to what is going on. As such, we will simply go elsewhere and would urge anybody else to do the same.
From the time we ordered the chair to delivery, everything has gone smoothly. The chair turned up early which was not a problem, the delivery men brought it in and assembled the item very promptly and tidied up and left. Very pleased looks great would definitely recommend the Lounge Co.
Purchased our sofas in November 2021 with expected delivery of March 22, its now May 22, and nothing. Have had no communication from company unless we chase and every time we do, we get the same excuse in a generic email. Have raised formal complaint and still no sofas. Sofa range is currently online being advertised at 8 week delivery... how can they say this when we have been waiting over 20 weeks? Appalling.
Briony Snuggler in French bulldog is excellent. Looks great, comfy and I received friendly service from purchase through to delivery, and I made a change to my order. Really pleased would recommend The Lounge Co.
Lovely quality sofa BUT base under the cushions is soaking wet in patches with a weird musty, fishy odour. Not sure if too much stainguard applied. All efforts to dry it so far have failed.
The customer service was excellent throughout our experience, delivery very good and we were delighted with the product
