I had been using a POS system for 4 years and it just wasn’t meeting our needs. Since moving to TouchBistro we've seen positive changes in our sales. The system runs so smoothly it's really made our work flow less stressful! The support from the customer success team has been great. Nothing seems to ever be too much trouble. The best part is we can talk to someone anytime of the day or night!
Horror show experience in every way. Training is rushed, staff doesn't answer your questions, they seem driven to get rid of you. Calling customer service is a multi day affair, I once waited on the phone for 5 hours before giving up. People at the company range from sweet and kind and uninformed to downright nasty and unhelpful. Touch Bistro was the biggest mistake we have made in our business, the reporting is subpar and the inventory management is this side of totally useless. Forget it if something unexpected happened, we have been offline coming up on three weeks while Touch Bistro staff bounce around excuses for why they can't help us. RUN AWAY
As far as functionality of the system is concerned it is very user friendly and easy to teach the staff. As far as the management tools is concerned I find the platform to be severely below par and full of glitches. Every week I come across another issue it seems like. I have been waiting for the Online beta platform to be up and going for almost a year now and it still isn't dependable. If you are looking for a cheap basic system and not concerned about the technicalities of reporting then this is the system for you. But that is the best way to explain TouchBistro, a cheap, basic system.
We just rolled this out to our Tap Room in May for the opening. We are all experienced with other POS systems and was expecting the major pitfalls with this one. We were quite shocked that we didn't encounter them. We received our hardware on time, training when we needed it and were up and running in 2 weeks from order.
We wanted to put a POS system in our fairstand. Checked it out and liked that TouchBistro specifically mentioned fairstand and small businesses. The person who answered the phone told us they weren't interested and said he would send us the name of another company that we may want to call. Really!!! And he didn't even do that! The real test of a company is how they treat the smallest of customers, and apparently they do not value their customers enough to even sell them the tools needed, not to mention the program.
We have been very happy with Touch Bistro, the POS system that we use for our nightclub. It's very intuitive and quick to set up and learn. New staff have been able to pick it up quickly and have all commented on how much they like it. We have had a few issues with the system glitching during the night - requiring us to log in again when we are switching between functions - a problem we are working with TouchBistro to resolve. Customer service is excellent, however it can take a while to get through to talk to someone. We plan on staying with TouchBistro and intend to expand to a second Ipad soon.
I love touchbistro. Their support system is there to help you no matter what the situation is. They offer an excellent over the phone training and the system is easy to use. We were using a different iPad POS system, and the staff at touch bistro made it super easy to convert to their system. Its very simple and the little tricks that the system offers is a huge time saver!
We have been using TouchBistro for a little over a year and what I like the most is that this is a POS that changes and adapts to the needs of it's users. Your not just stuck with the system the way it comes. You have the opportunity to request/suggest changes. The system is easy to use and easy to set up. The support is exceptionally fast. I usually use email rather then call support. They usually get back to me with in an hour and once even called me directly to resolve the issue. That alone blew me away.
It's the perfect application for my small deli/café. Very easy to program, very easy to train my employees, very easy to use. The price is also great and it has a nice visual appeal.
Our success with TouchBistro at our smaller venue, The Lyric Theatre, (Birmingham, Alabama) is leading us to install TouchBistro at our sister venue : The Alabama Theatre. We couldn't be more pleased with TouchBistro AND the support we have received in the first six months of its operation. - Gary W. Jones, Concessions and Bar Manager, Birmingham Landmarks, Inc.
TouchBistro continually improves their features and support to provide an easy to use but industry leading iPad based POS software. Updates are frequent to address widespread customer concerns and customer service is prompt and professional whenever support is needed.
Love it, use it everyday for customer transactions. Support responsive.
TouchBistro has worked hard to provide what the restaurant industry needs. The positives: Easy use by servers, Great to show the guests at the table. Good but not great reports. The negatives: No bar tabs make it much harder for the bartenders to take care of customers on busy evenings. We have also had a lot of complications with using card swipers and duplication of payments which should be impossible. The price point is also outstanding compared to Aloha and Micros
TouchBistro POS is a great system that is easy to use. Apple iPads are the best terminals to use, they are small and lightweight. Training is simple and intuitive. TouchBistro's service is unmatched and they will work with you on setting the system up and help you get going right away!
I have been very impressed that at every turn, TouchBistro has already thought through what it is that I need to get customers paid out fast, transactions recorded accurately, reports created on the day/week/month's returns automatically, employees logged in and out, and now they're integrated with QuickBooks Online so our month end reports just became easier, too!,
We're just getting ready to install later today but our experiences with all the TouchBistro people we've been in contact with have been great! Our sales rep, our trainer and a multitude of others have been involved and are always very encouraging and help us figure out the best way to set up our menu on the POS. We have a bit of a complicated setup because Café Xpresso is not a typical restaurant; we're Quick serve but have a Kitchen printer and several others. We're happy so far and can't wait to go live tomorrow!
TouchBistro has been our POS choice for over 3 1/2 years, and we don't regret it one bit. There have only been a few of "hiccups" in the system during dinner service, but these problems were quickly resolved. The tech support is responsive and helpful. The system itself is very easy to set up, use, and modify to your particular needs. In addition, suggestions for improvements we have made over the years have been noted and implemented by the design/tech team. I would recommend this to anyone, but of course you should always test it out for yourself before you commit to it.
After researching several iPad based POS systems, it seems like Touch Bistro is the most comprehensive system out there for Ontario based businesses. There are no other iPad POS systems that I am aware of that provide the option to apply different tax rates on different amounts. In all other systems I have worked on, this has to be done manually with several steps as opposed to automatically calculating the correct tax. Their integration with Moneris also provides the benefit of never having credit card discrepancies between your payment terminal and your POS reports, which greatly helps with reporting. Overall I believe that I will be happy with this system, however, it has taken a while to get this set up because of the extensive training and install required. It's difficult to find a time that works for both parties as we are a cafe with daytime hours so all install and training would have to be done outside our cafe hours, which has proven to be difficult to schedule. I find it one of the most expensive iPad systems out there, however, the referral program incentive can help alleviate some of the upfront expenses if you have other businesses sign up through your referral. Most of the issues I've experienced are isolated to the fact that we are an already opened business with old POS systems we have to transition out of. This has caused for the install and set up to be a bit more complicated than setting up Touch Bistro for a new business.
Touch Bistro is a very affordable POS system, it is quick and easy to set up and can be modified to meet the demands of most busy restaurants, from small business owner restaurants, to larger concerns. The features for bill splitting, customers who move from table to table, running bar tabs, are straight forward to use. We are happy with the system and the management reporting helps when making decisions on menu items. Overall it is a very good system.

May 16,2018TouchBistro sounds great up front. However, be warned that under no circumstances will you get a refund of any money if something goes wrong before you even get set up. They do not reveal everything up front. If you will need equipment, they use a third party seller called POSPortal, and I don’t think you could find a good review for them. TouchBistro withdrew $394 from my account on day one. On day three, POSPortal denied my equipment lease. TouchBistro refuses to refund my money, even though the software was never installed, no training has been done, and I’ve received no equipment. Basically, they told me that it was my fault because I was turned down for the lease by POSPortal. They take your money before the lease application is submitted.
