Bought a Vogue Oven that started making a horrible noise after one week. Jill in the warranty department sorted it out within 48hrs of a phone call -service man out and fixed. Amazing. Fastest response to a service issue yet. Nice quiet oven now. Thanks.
Last order & again with this order they are quick to take money but super slow to get picked & sent. Last time they tried to blame courier, except the order was in 2 boxes - 1 was placed where it should have been for pickup, the 2nd would probably still be in the warehouse as was put somewhere it shouldn't have been. Wasnt until a week later when i rang to see what was going on they said oops was picked & put in wrong place...then oh the couriers just didn't pick it up, yeah right. This time I've ordered a small item that is showing 'high stock' everywhere & 2 days later still hasn't even been picked. Last time i order anything from TD. Service used to be good but now terrible.
Quick turn around time and issue resolved. Technician was outstanding, professional and respectful when entering our property. This man deserves recognition for his outstanding skills and work ethic.
I ordered an upright freezer on the 15 June. Email said item has been dispatched from their warehouse by a 3rd party freight provider. By the 24th I had called twice to ask where it is. They said there was an issue due to the item being delivered to the address which is rural, they would need to organise a third party freight although I had already had confirmation on the 15th it had been dispatched with a 3rd party provider and I paid for rural delivery. Next call they said sorry are you picking it up. I'm in Tasman, I ordered from Christchurch. Call transferred to Ace. They told me they had 16 units in Christchurch, where is it? I rang Mainfreight, they had no information at all of the reference numbers connected to my order. I rang again Tues 2nd they said they will follow it up. That's all they say and submit request tickets. I demanded our money back,they said it may take up to maybe 4 or more days. I said no, I paid upfront I want it back asap.He said it's up to the sales department. Asked to be put through to them, he said he couldn't do that. I said if it's not in my bank asap I will contact the commerce commission, he said he will try for 24 hours after I demanded it back within that time. I asked Robert from Trade depot whilst talking to him to send me an email of confirmation that I was being refunded the full total paid. I then rang the commerce commission told them it hasn't been delivered yet the email says it's been dispatched by a 3rd party freight provider, they said it's a breach. Request was submitted and confirmed by email. I replied to Roberts email with screenshots of invoice paid, the dispatch notice, a request ticket from Trade Depots ACE and the confirmation from Commerce Commission. The money was refunded the following day. Trade Depot are not truthful and delay delay delay for some reason, either there's no items in the country or using our money for other reasons. Either way steer clear. I hope this helps whoever is going through a frustrating time with them.
Me and my husband purchased a few items on Trade Depots website, not long after we were needing to cancel the order as we were no longer moving, we had spoken to ( bob ) said they would help to cancel the order for delivery and email/ call us back ( they DIDNT ) we waited a week then called again but after that we had an AMAZING! Lady we spoke with that helped us, we were reluctant as others said they would help but this lady really did, out of frustration from the previous experience we got upset and she told us not to worry, even, when our delivery was supposed to be that day, she sorted everything out within 2 hours called us back so that we didn’t need to sit and wait for someone to answer for 20minutes she then proceeded to email us all the details as well. !!! I’ll shop again only if we are dealing with her !.
Had an issue with my fridge almost a year into buying it, trade depot were so helpful in assisting to get it fixed within a couple of days without any hassles!
My fridge was not working. Trade Depot sent Sam out to fix it and he had the part required with him so I didn't have to wait and fixed it immediately. Great service.
After my delivery date was postponed to a few days later I accepted it and waited the whole day for my delivery rang up customer service to find out delivery truck on its way( it never showed up) I rang up before customer service was closing hour before and waited 30 minutes no answer so went online no answer. Lack of communication. Still have not received my item! Don't recommend buying from this company!!!
I had a problem with my new washer and Trade depot went out of their way, to try and solve the problem on line with me, but in the end they had to send Taranaki Appliances out to sort out the problem and did so within the hour of arriving . ten stars to bioth organisations. Thank You.
Easy online shopping, very competitive price and fantastic support via the chat from Kathleen who promised to expedite my order. Could not be happier, ordered Friday of Kings Birthday weekend and freezer was delivered on Wednesday on Paeroa.
UPDATED thank you Trade Depot for your response, however there is a Combined Certificate of compliance & Electrical Safety Certificate that you have on record. You also told me you have photos of oven being installed incorrectly, which we have requested from you. Yet no photos have arrived. If installation was the issue oven would not of gone from the beginning! Faulty oven, broken down twice!! Jill is the worst customer service person you will ever deal with. Right from first conversation, when I said we just want the oven fixed/replaced. Her response was laughter and “oh no we won’t be replacing it” 27 emails, 4 ph cals. A tenant without a oven for 6+ weeks is unacceptable! We had got an electrician in because tenant thought it was fuse board. But no it was the oven, told this to Jill, she said “old school electrician’s don’t know what they are talking about” so rude. ( A report was taken from an electrician we paid for. Safety first, as there was a small fire in back of oven.) Need to send their own technician out. Took 2 weeks for their technician to arrive, took oven away plus stole fuse from the house fuse box.i told him to send a report before any work done. Got report today, and they have come up with the installation of oven! no body seems to listen, read, or communicate. Right from get go, we knew this was going no where! So tenant has new oven from a real retailer. Sent emails to Ricky, first response from him was excellent, he said he would get this sorted, and he apologised about Jill’s comments. Commerce Commission is the place to go. More complaints the better!! THIS IS IN DISPUTE so we won’t be paying your “call out fee” if they send this to debt collectors so be it! It is in dispute, nothing can be done! Get them to take their faulty stuff back, keep all communications, take photos if possible. Don’t pay the call out fee & Report them to Commerce Commission they would love to hear about them!
Firstly, the 'phone answering service was absolutely appalling, the system passing the caller on to someone else abysmal, and generally I would rate them as THE WORST Company/organisation in the country. When I eventually managed to talk to a human I was given false information; I asked where to find the Model No on a Serene brand Electric Wall Heater and was told to look for it at the back of the heater ! After some considerable time and effort and much language on trying to remove the heater from the wall, we duly found the number on THE TOP of the heater unit. If we'd known that we would not have had to remove - and experience great difficulty in Replacing it back on the wall - the heater from /to the wall at all. A mirror to the top of the unit would have easily done the trick. Overall a horrible experience with this Company and I will never deal with them again !
The delivery of my purchase leaves a lot to be desired A phone call at 4pm on a Sunday night informs that the delivery of said item would occur in an hours time. I return the call at 5.30. & 5.40pm enquiring when I might now hope to expect the delivery. Was told he would call back. Did not. I left a message at the next call to say I was going out so please don’t deliver as there would now be no one available to accept delivery Delivered anyway, to a neighbours address and left outdoors for the night!!! Brainless action by delivery person
As we were over from West Coast we called in to christchurch store to check out if we could pick up freezer that we had purchased over the phone, that was going to be another week before delivery and the exceptional service we received from Megan and her store manager Monica was outstanding, with refund on delivery cost immediately sorted and the ladies were so helpful and friendly, as i waited for paper work to go thru I observed the same service being applied to each customer being attended too, absolutely wonderful staff, took time to get exactly what people wanted, time was not an issue, customer getting what they wanted was top priority. Very impressed with this outstanding service so just wanted to commend these ladies and let other customers know to shop trade depot christchurch, you guys really do put the xtra into extraordinary. Well done ladies. Will definately be shopping there again

Last August bought a ceramic stove. After 1st use, multiple flaws occured in ceramic top. Sent photos to Chch as advised.Was told stove faulty and would be replaced. After numerous calls and emails (11) was told stove would be collected and money refunded. After 9months of calls and emails still waiting for action. Do the Commerce Commission need to investigate this Company after all the negative reviews I have read..?
Shame there isn’t a ‘no star’ option. I have had a ticket lodged for 12 days to get a technician to come and take a look at my broken fridge freezer. Yes - it was no longer under warranty, so I paid the $120 deposit for a call out and 30 mins of labour to investigate on the day the invoice was sent - I was told a technician would be in contact with me to advise a time closer to the day they had pencilled me in for (which was yesterday). I took the day off work to be home to let them in - have still heard nothing (following countless requests just to have a phone call). I’ve now asked for a refund of the $120 and will go elsewhere. Happy to take your money - clearly not interested in customer service. I feel sorry for the admin teams who are fielding all of the complaints. I know everyone is busy - but it takes two minutes to say “sorry can’t make it today … I’ve rebooked you for …” Over it.
TD needs a priority service for customers with new items under warranty. My brand new heatpump has been broken for over 3 weeks now. The original technician couldn't come for over 1 week and they ordered a new part which arrived quickly. The technician couldn't come back to install the new part for another week (originally 10 days but a cancellation brought it forward) only to find the wrong part had been ordered and now I'm waiting to hear back about the timeframe for another part/technician or new heat pump. In the meantime it's below 0 degrees in Christchurch overnight and my home has no other heating. I've requested they send me another form of heating in the meantime but this seems to be falling on deaf ears. They also continue to ring and update the old owner of the house (who originally purchased the heatpump), despite me updating my details with them 3 times already. Having just also purchased a Fridge and Vacuum cleaner also, I will never buy from TD again.
