I recently purchased a dryer and a chest freezer from Trade Deport Riccarton branch. I paid money on 25th April afternoon and went for the pick up on 27th April to the same store. The freezer I have booked was sold to someone else and the lady called “Monica” who was at the sales used abusive language for me. I was not only got emotionally and financially damaged by not having the product I desired but also emotionally damaged by Monica’s abusive language. She used the particular word “ Don’t come here again”. Being a sales person there it is very confusing how dare they treat to customers who already paid for the product and lost it due to their fault. We would like you to take disciplinary actions against her. Wondering why their managers dont takes such sales people.
I have been dealing with the Christchurch Trade Depot for a number of years now and my dealings have been very positive. Yes, there have been occasional issues with products but these have been addressed quickly and professionally by Sam in Sales Support and also the Service Manager, Brian. Both people are friendly and easy to deal with. I have appreciated the timely communication and reliable service.
DONT USE TRADE DEPOT My new bathroom vanity arrived with a damaged drawer - chip on the centre front. Initially TD refused to correct as they argued the chip didn't affect the function of the drawer, it is a white unit so a brown chip was very obvious in my bathroom and looked terrible. After several contacts they agreed to send a replacement drawer. This did not turn up for six weeks and more phone calls chasing up. Finally opened the packing today on the new drawer sent to replace the damaged drawer and it is also damaged! It's honestly not worth the grief, pay a little more and save yourself the hassle.
Yes I had a person who divered my stuff and his name is Ron. I want to acknowledge him for being really nice and helpful as he help my daughter to bring the heavy sruff inside our home. Please thank him for delivering over and beyond his job. Thank you
Bought a dryer and in less than three years it broke down - with what seems to be a known fault. Found no repairer would touch a trade depot machine to repair so had to use one of the two they recommend (unknown business) and paid for repairs after being told the dryer was out of warranty. It failed with same issue just over three months later. This should have been covered under the Consumer Guarantees Act which had I known sooner I would have enforced! They have to have a reasonable life not just work outside of the business warranty. Now going to buy a well known brand from a well known store. below is copy of our e-mail thread to show Trade Depot do not care..... Thank you for your reply Samantha. I was covered under warranty under the CGA when you told me I wasn’t when the machine broke down initially! I am not paying another cent on this machine as it has cost me enough money to end up with same issue a matter of months later! I would rather buy another brand from somewhere that sells more well known brands – especially given you have only two repair people to suggest and no other repairer will touch your brand machines. I just wanted clarification on your standing before I log it all online to warn others. Kind Regards, Melissa. Good afternoon, I understand you are frustrated, but for us to get this sorted for you we will need to send a technician over to fix it for you. As you are no longer covered under warranty you will need to pay for the technicians call out fee and labour, we can supply the parts that are needed out of goodwill for you. Please let me know how you would like to proceed? This is obviously a well known fault with the machine. I wanted your response to the fact that it should have lasted longer than it did before it started to break down – especially given the consumer guarantees act. I phoned and advised it was broken when it first broke down but was told to find a repair person as was out of your warranty – when in fact I was still covered under the consumers guarantees act. I would like your response to this before I decide on what I do next. Kind Regards, Melissa. Good afternoon, Were you wanting me to book you in with a technician? Regards, Sam | TRADE DEPOT On Wed, 24 Apr at 1:32 PM , Melissa wrote: Thank you Samantha. It is the 2019 dryer we have at home, the other was for my daughters house. I am more disappointed now knowing the dryer is only effectively 5 years old now. It was repaired in July 2023 (which only lasted 3.5months before we had the same issue) and at that point of repairs it was only just over 4 years old. It had been out of action for over a year (closer to two years) before we had the time with covid etc to get on to getting repairs. Therefore when it actually broken down initially it was only 2-3 years old! That is not a reasonable time frame for life of a clothes dryer, and certainly not considered as such under the CGA. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this. Kind Regards, Melissa. DO NOT BUY FROM TRADE DEPOT.
Doesnt even deserve 1 star. The absolute worst customer service I've ever known. Extremely slow. Even when I drove 1.5 hours to get a washer for shower I had to buy the whole shower and it took 3 weeks to arrive. Never again
Below is my response to the reply I recieved from them. Your product team need to take a long hard look at themselves before making this type of comment.(or understand the product) All water connections on these taps are below bench level. The only way that water can come out on the bench is an internal problem. This was proven when the cartridge was removed and a small bit of brass debris was located under the rubber seal. A company is only as good as its back up service and I have found Trade depot to be very poor on the time factor and comment. Very easy to try and pass the buck. The cost savings buying from Trade depot and having to get a plumber back to fix the issue is simply not worth it when the company just try to fob you off.
I've dealt with this company 3 times and it's 3 times too many. Their appliances are crap and good luck trying to get refunds and uplifts of appliances to go back.
Have bought appliances previously & very happy , have just had a dishwasher delivered and read some reviews, hopefully we don’t regret . In general the purchase was easy on line and dispatched same day , that’s where the service stopped . Tracking says it was in the carriers depot on the 8th April, today is the 18th , have had zero communication re delivery, after calling mid morning I was told noon delivery, at 12 45 I rang again and told 1/2 hr away , I missed a hospital appointment waiting for the truck , left instructions with customer services where to leave arrived home at 4 30 pm still no dishwasher, call number 3 was told he was still delivering in Levin which is the wrong direction based on what we were told earlier, final arrangements were Friday am delivery and he turned up at 6 pm tonight & text when outside gate . Customer services say they are getting lots of complaints , , I saved $150 by not buying at a local shop , not worth the bother will pay and buy locally next time .
Absolutely appalling and will never buy from here again. Customer service is utter crap and the delivery guy is so rude. Was meant to arrive over and hour and half ago as I have been tracking him with the link provided so I rung him Was rude and had that many excuses
Terrible products and terrible customer service. I bought a dishwasher in Jan 2024. It just stopped cleaning and they said it is under 12 months warranty. Tried emailing them and contacting them several times with no proper response. Waste of money, time and energy. Please don't buy unless you want to put your money in a drain hole.
348240 - DISHWASHER COMFEE MO - intermittent issues meaning it doesn't work. Technician admitted the hose is flimsy and prone to kinks which means the dishwasher won't fill up with water. However, they've said it is user error even though it was installed by a electrician so they are making us pay for the call out. Just cheap rubbish with terrible customer care - will NEVER buy from them again
Horrible customer service. Had a delivery scheduled on 13th for an unoccopied house on the other side of town. Call #1 I make sure to call the day before and confirm with the operator that there will be a delivery on the 13th (specifically mention that the house is unoccupied and that I am going just for the delivery), and that I will get a text from the driver when they leave (they are unable to give details of the time) So I get up early on a Saturday, drive 50kms and wait till midday, no text received. Call #2 I call TradeDepot the operator informs me that delivery to Pukekohe only happens on Wednesday. So the previous operator I called has clearly not bothered to check this/doesnt have a clue. I ask to make a complaint for this and get informed "this will not help the item get delivered sooner and that I can get a refund if wanted". I clarify the complaint is for making me making me get up on my day off and drive 100KM due to the operators incompetance/negligance. Ask to have a confirmation of complaint emailed to me as well (this is not done). Call #3 I call on Monday afternoon as no one has bothered to reach out about my order and complaint. Ask to be transferred to a manager, get told he will call me by tommorow morning. Operator confirmed I will receive the delivery on Wed. Call #4 Tuesday afternoon, Still no call back from the manager (Ricky Mishra), ask the operator to transfer me, he checks and says that manager is busy and will call me in 15min, I ask for an official contact number, and told he is not allowed to provide one, he provides an email (based on prior reviews I doubt he will reply promptly via emails). It is almost end of business day and no response from manager. The whole series of events leaves a really bad taste, is extremely unprofessional and caused me a lot of inconvenience. Looking at the list of recurring complaints here I dont know if anything gets done here but leaving this as a warning for people who like me who get enticed by the cheaper pricing, decide if the stress is worth it, esp if you need delivery its "free" but this is some of the stuff you might have to deal with
Damaged new oven. It’s falling to pieces, rack holders inside falling away, elements broke and numbers wiped off the dials. The stuff is cheaper but is crap. Do not believe the positive ratings this place is a have. No you don’t coz I complained about this before and was told the oven knight have some chipping on it and went back and forwards now rails are falling off .
We have bought a lot from them at the Hamilton depot for both our home and our rental home - oven, hob, vanities, dishwasher, taps, all sorts really. Never had any issues. Everything has worked fine. We do our homework first, in that is this going to suit our water pressure, is the setup right for what we have etc... so I imagine that has a bit to so with why we've had no problems. And we pick up everything we buy. Couriers these days have a lot to answer for - don't blame the company you buy off always for the problems you have in having things not delivered.
Placed my order on line, on a Tuesday. The bath was delivered 3 days later. Also great price. Answered all my questions on line and my email.
I am writing this out of frustration and naive surprise at myself for not having read the reviews here before doing business with this behamoth of a company. TradeDepot does not care about customers or customer service. How can a business be so bad in this day in NZ??!? I bought two portable a/c and they are still in their box....been trying to return them for the past month. They pay lip service and actually give dates when they will collect - nothing happens. Astonishing. Go to another business and pay more......peace of mind is precious! Happy to update as days pass.......
Do not buy anything from trade depot! Bought a brand new washing machine / drying combo and it’s been broken twice in less than a year. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service for it to be fixed. Do yourself a favour and never buy of these people as they waste your time and money!
This company is absolute rubbish, damaged product after damaged product. Spent 1000s for products to show wear after a few weeks. Highly recommend never buying anything from them just pay a bit more for better quality. Ricky also just ignores emails. Hate this company.
