* Update - Went over on Saturday and got a refund. Refund was processed in one day. Very bad experience with this company. Bought a microwave online via click and collect only to be told during collection that the item is not in stock. i contacted them via message center and they advised to make up for our transportation they will ship the product to our home. 7 days down, i have no idea where the microwave is. The tracking still shows not dispatched. I am greatly inconvenienced by this as i really need it. I just wish i had bought it from somewhere else. Now the customer care is not even bothering to reply to messages. I will be going there again tomorrow to see what is happening. Mere waste of time effort and money with this company. Never buying from here again.

If I could give a negative star I would. The delivery of the item is the only thing that has gone right. Trying to return it is another thing entirely. Lodged an enquiry, 1 week later still nothing, followed up & still nothing. I ring get an "answer" and follow instructions, only they were the wrong ones... To cut a long story short + I like to eat waffles and not write waffle, pay more and buy from Bunnings or Mitre 10. You'll be better off in the long run.

If I could give no stars I would. 3 weeks ago we ordered and paid for a new oven. It arrived within 5 days of the purchase. The electrician wired it up and when he turned it on it shorted out and electrocuted him. After he had recovered he investigated why it had happened. He discovered that beneath an element a thermostat wire was touching the bottom of the element which had caused the short. We then noticed a that the side panel of the oven was dented in over 1 inch. We informed Trade depot about the faulty and damaged oven. Which started a protracted email exchange with an incompetent customer service department. They would not collect the oven until they received a detailed report from the electrician and photos of the damage. The implication was that we in some way had caused this to happen. Finally after 9 days they agreed to replace the oven, which by law they are required to do and offered us a $50 store credit for the dent. It's now been 16 days and we still don't have the replacement oven. This company's customer service is appalling. Intact we have made a complaint under the consumers fair trade ac5 as their operating procedures are unethical and are skirting the boundaries of being legal. Absolutely the worst company we have ever dealt with and of course it goes without saying, we will never be dealing with them again. I will be discouraging everyone I know againt dealing with this company. Oh and no apology to the electrician their faulty product electrocuted. Shop somewhere else Trade Depot is hopeless.

Pity there isnt a rating below 1 star. Still waiting on a refund weeks down the track and emails go unanswered after multiple promises to get the payment into my account. Complete radio silence. Close to $3k out of pocket. Given up and now disputing transaction with bank to get my money back.

We bought a tumble dryer from Trade Depot May last year. The belt snapped in Feb this year, we opened up to see what the issue was and determined it was the belt and didnt think it was covered under warranty. Their stock on new belts was out of stock in store and online so I called then to see when theyd get in. They checked our purchase date online under our phone number and said it’s covered under warranty, even though we opened the machine. Offered to get a tech out to ours but we are close to the store so dropped it off instead. 1 week later we have a dryer fixed and didnt pay to get it fixed. They also cleaned out the vents and did some maintenance. I am very impressed with their service and efficiency

This has now been sorted, just waiting for refund now I bought an oven and the delivery person arrived without a call and then proceeded to take a photo of the “delivered” oven then said, “actually let’s check to see if it is damaged” opened the box and it was in fact Damaged! He put it back on his truck with the help of my husband and left with it. Next day I called to ask about the protocol of my damaged returned oven and I was told it had no incident had been lodged! 2weeks on and I still have no oven and am out of pocket and no real answer as to where my oven is. I’ll be taking this up with consumer guarantees act. I was also told that I had signed for it which I didn’t. I’ll remove this once this has been sorted

I would like to say a big thank you to Jill in the customer service department. She has gone above and beyond to help us, constantly following up with our wee hiccup, ensuring the products we bought were delivered on time, made sure our replacement parts and tradee were informed regilarly and has made the whole experience satisfying. She really cares! 100% happy with all our appliances, and the service-OUTSTANDING. Thanks Jill. Your a star! Regards Mandi Povey

Purchased a Midea fridge freezer about 6 months ago. $1500. Took it carefully to my extended families holiday home. ( I am an electrician by trade and know how to transport appliances) Opened box on arrival and found a good sized crease in door. Could not be bothered taking it back. Purchased another $1500 FF for our home yesterday Picked it up from their warehouse and told them I would be checking it for damage when I got home given my previous experience. They wanted me to sign a document to say I had received it in good condition which I did by opening one corner of the box. The unit was in good condition. Upon getting it home I realized that the appliance was in fact not the right model and would not fit into our kitchen due to its depth. My fault. It didn't get taken off the trailer. Within 24 hours of purchasing it and having not taken it out of the box I returned it. I was initially told because I had opened the box in one corner they would be taking $300 off the refund. (despite this not being part of their returns policy and being the only way to check its condition) Ended up having an extremely heated and upsetting argument with the manager who finally agreed to "waive the fee" Will never go back. Purchased the correct model this afternoon from Midea ChCh. They insisted on removing the fridge/freezer from its box to inspect it for damage before it left the shop. (we had not told them about our trade depot experience. A fantastic company who we will use for the rest of our kitchen upgrade.

Very poor back-up. Our fridge temperature indicator broke-down. We were informed to switch our fridge off for 24 hours, which would have spoiled our food in the freezer. Our fridge was still under warranty, but we were told that if they deemed that we had done something wrong, they would charge us a 120 dollar call out fee. Absolute rubbish service, and I will never buy again from them.

We ordered a washing machine and dryer from Trade Depot through the Warehouse. Initially the shipping time was estimated at 4-10 working days, but we were informed after about a week that the dryer would only be shipped late March (a month and a half from payment). We requested a refund and received it. We were also informed that our washing machine would be delayed and only arrive after we have moved into our new house so we changed the delivery address, anticipating delivery there at a later stage. Lo and behold, the delivery is scheduled for the new house a week early... Trade Depot also doesn't accept cancellations after shipping, so when there shipping/delivery inevitably ends up being an inconvenience, you sit with all the headache and inconvenience. I am personally boycotting Trade Depot for dropping the ball twice on one order, on two extremes of the possible outcomes (one shipping more than a month late, and one shipping a week early after we were advised that it would be late).

Why have they hidden all previous orders when I log in to my account? I have a warranty issue and I can't even find the order number! have they hidden these on purpose to make it harder for customers to make a claim for warranties?

Paid for two bathroom suites, both damaged on opening by professional installers, 10 minutes notice for delivery, slow communication even following phone calls, delays put several thousand dollars on the job ... avoid this place from my perspective and tradies.

We have now received the incorrect product 3 times from an order going back to November. We have called Trade Depot over 30 times and every person we speak to assures us we will be receiving the correct item and we still wait. We get told the manager will call us and we still wait. This has been the most stressful purchase i have ever made, caused huge delays in a major renovation and also huge additional costs due to return visits from tradies. So gutted with how appalling this has been.

Bought ‘Vogue’ model dishwasher & w/machine. Had trouble with both appliances! Dishwasher door leaked (ruined kitchen joinery) and wire inside w/machine broke (tripping the electricity switch for protection to whole holiday apartment). Replacement dishwasher was to be delivered and faulty one picked up. However, only a pick up was organised and no replacement. Had guests holidaying in apartment, they were going to be without an appliance until who knows when! (I had paid cash for both appliances and to be left with nothing for a lengthy time was not an acceptable option). Spoke to a useless customer service rep who told me a whole lot of rubbish & said they would look into it & organize the replacement & pick up at same time, they said they’d to get back to me but NEVER did!! Days go by, I had to ph back to follow up to keep the ball rolling!! I’ll know who cust service rep was if I hear her name & voice again. Re: w/machine - spoke to Praise who is an absolute useless customer service rep!! She was to organize a ticket for a tech to carry out repair work. Praise told me 3 times in her conversation to me, to look out for the confirmation email - NO EMAIL CAME!! Again, I had to ph back to follow up and keep the ball rolling!! On both occasions, holidaying guests were greatly inconvenienced!! Even though the company offers a relatively good concept, they were let down by 2 absolute rubbish cust service reps offering poor standard of service! Also, not impressed both new appliances were faulty and not 100% up to standard!! Will not purchase from here again and definitely will not recommend Trade Depot! A most disappointing experience for me on this occasion!

Horrible after sales experience.Purchased a new Stove from Trade Depot. It was damaged upon delivery. I took photos and sent the information as their web site says for the warantee with in 24 hours of delivery. No one phoned me back or returned calls. No follow up it has taken me 6 months of me chasing them. They have not replaced the stove. A week ago they made me an offer for $100.00 in vouchers as they do not have any replacement models left. No surprise after stalling me for Six Months. The store bully you as they have your money and don't give a dam after its in their account. Go to a retailer that cares and will not cause you loads of stress. If you read the poor reviews and their standard reply seems to show a repeat of bad service. All words and no action to improve.

TradeDepot: Good prices & product range. That's where it ends, especially if you live in area outside of their stores. Have used several times for small items OK, delivery slow but acceptable. Just recently ordered vanity online, I live in Wellington took over 2 weeks to deliver and only cabinet arrived, no basin top. Called to try and chase up basin top, got different versions of status depending on who you speak to. It never shipped despite them blaming delivery driver. Item only shipped today so another week or so of waiting. Also delivery driver advised of delivery 1 minute before arriving, luckily I was home. Basically TradeDepot's systems are broken, supply, delivery, customer service all poor!! 1: Sort out your warehouse logistics, should be impossible to ship incomplete vanity. 2: Use better delivery companies, 14 days delivery for item in same island isn't really acceptable service, quicker to receive items from overseas. 3: Train customer service team better, they couldn't answer questions on products or basic shipping query like when does your Hamilton warehouse ship to Wgtn? I got 3 different answers to that question depending on who I talked to. Basically don't recommend buying any large items if you don't live in Akld, Chch or Hamilton. The chances of a cock-up are high!! Update 9 Feb: I still don't have complete vanity Timeline: 15 January – Order bathroom vanity online 25 January – vanity cabinet arrives without basin top – Advised TradeDepot 26 January - TradeDepot arranges shipment of basin top 29 January – Basin top arrives late afternoon by courier (dropped off no signature) 30 January – Plumber discovers top is damaged when unpacking to install 30 January – Contact TradeDepot about damage 31 January – Replacement basin top ordered 9 February – Basin top arrives at 6:43pm (courier dropped off & ran off-no signature) box badly damaged 9 February – 8PM Examined box contents when arrived home – BASIN IS DAMAGED AGAIN !!! 25 days after ordering online, no better off.
