Aug 11,2024Had the best 3 weeks in Hikkaduwa. The whole team were so lovely and made the entire experience so enjoyable. Slight improvement needs to be done regarding communication about programmes. As we were promised a physio placement when organising, but when we arrived got put on normal medical and weren’t able to experience physio as much as we’d hoped. However, the team at Sri Lanka handled this well and were able to accommodate this quickly. The coordinators were all lovely and Reece is particular was great, always available to help and support anyone. Deserves more recognition for the hard work he does. All in all a great time with Travelteer :)

Aug 11,2024Had an amazing two weeks at travelteer! Everyone was so friendly and there was so many fun activities planned most evenings. All the co-ordinators were so welcoming and made it feel like a home away from home. Scarlett in particular was such a lovely presence in the house! Improvements for future - more variation in the weekly volunteer schedule. For longer than two weeks it could get a bit repetitive!

Aug 11,2024I’ve really enjoyed my time here in Sri Lanka, everyone has been so lovely and welcoming especially Reece who has been nothing but kind and helpful throughout my 3 weeks. However I would say there has been some slight miscommunication issues which meant that I wasn’t able to do physio as much as promised but nevertheless I was able to see such amazing things like brain surgery which was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you to the amazing team.

Aug 10,2024The first week touring the country felt extremely rushed, and there weren’t alternative options if we couldn’t do an activity. However, I absolutely loved the volunteering with the turtles. The funniest moment was when one of the coaches broke down on the way to the train station and we all had to squeeze into one coach!!!

Aug 10,2024I had an amazing two weeks in Sri Lanka on a school volunteering trip. All the days were fully and carefully planned out with endless exciting activities for us to do, suitable for a range of abilities - from snorkelling, to hiking, to Safari, and even evening Karaoke! The staff (Carys, Ella, Lizzie, and Nalen) were organised, approachable and accommodating to all our needs (especially dietary ones). They were funny and sociable, and didn’t hesitate to join in on the fun too. We felt safe at all times and were also able to spend time volunteering at local schools through a variety of different programmes which was definitely a highlight! An unforgettable experience that I would do again in a heartbeat!! Thank you xx

Aug 10,2024This trip has been incredible! Every single moment of our Sri Lanka trip has been unforgettable and a genuine once in a life experience. The Travelteer leaders do an amazing job of organising and planning all the experiences meaning you do every kind of activity imaginable. There's been so many priceless experiences and our leaders (Ella, Carys and Lizzie) have only added to the fun - my favourite memories being the karaoke night, the magical train ride to Ella and our campfire games!!! Thanks Travelteer!!

Aug 10,2024Our trip with Travelteer has been full of adventure and fun! We have done so much everyday and seen so much of Sri Lanka thanks to them. The company have ensured that we have seen everything there is to see and really experienced the culture. Every day has been full of activities to keep us occupied and I am so grateful to Travelteer for organising such as amazing trip. The experience of volunteering with Travelteer has been so impactful and will stay with me forever!

The volunteering side of the trip has impressed students and teachers. Definitely, we will trust Travelteer again for future trips with our A level students.

Aug 10,2024I loved the trip because i did things that i would have never done if i had come to sri lanka alone. The travelteer staff made it so much better by supporting every activity and guiding us through activities which otherwise would have been much harder. I have learnt so much from this trip, so many amazing experiences that i will remember forever. Thank you Carys, Ella and Lizzie for making my trip so great!!

Our trip leaders; Ella, Carys and Lizzie were especially amazing throughout, making our time the best possible experience!!

The tavelteer team have gone above and beyond to make this experience so memorable for us and we are beyond grateful. The whole tour has been so exciting and it has been so cool to see so much of Sri Lanka from Sigiriya to a train ride to Ella and the volunteering in schools and turtle sanctuary made the trip even better as we were able to really immerse ourselves in the Sri Lankan culture and make a difference!! Would really recommend!!

Aug 10,2024Genuinally a once in a lifetime experience had with Travelteer these last 2 weeks, from surfing to snorkelling to sightseeing this trip showed us all over Sri Lanka whilst the marine volunteering programme and local school teaching was an incredible way to give back to the country. Brilliant trip leaders, Ella, Lizzie and Carys truly made for a magical trip through running karaokes, quizzes and just general energy- thank you so much Travelteer!!

Aug 10,2024- Sri Lanka - I found this opportunity through my University and I’m so glad I did!! I did two weeks volunteering and one week on their coast to coast tour and enjoyed every second of it. My tour coordinator Alex was so easy to get along with and made sure we all had a great time (even when he was feeling unwell!). We spent a week going around the country and doing many different activities such as snorkelling, hiking, visiting a tea farm. I’m so happy they offer this tour as it meant when I got to Hikkaduwa (the volunteering base) I could focus on the job I came here to do. When arriving in Hikkaduwa all the staff were super friendly and genuinely cared about our safety. Fleur especially made sure that if we ever needed anything we could message her and she’d sort it - which I think put peoples mind at ease as we’re in such a different country to the UK. Out of all the programs travelteer offer I picked the marine and wildlife program and Reece the coordinator was so amazing! Activities in the program included cleaning out the turtle sanctuary enclosures, beach clean up, weeding the plant nursery, and even-though people would complain about doing certain activities Reece would always put in the effort! There are three different houses for accommodation in Hikkaduwa and I was in both ocean and pool house. Reece was the coordinator situated at ocean house and he made sure that any issues were sorted straight away. Scarlett was the coordinator at pool house and she always went above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable and enjoying our time here. Travelteer also had events organised most days of the week and all the coordinators would join. It was compulsory that they joined for our safety but it was so nice to see that they actually enjoyed themselves - it made it seem less like a school trip and created a more chilled environment. I study environmental sustainability science at university and I feel like this volunteering program was a perfect boost for my cv and it was an absolute bonus that I really enjoyed myself. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here! I definitely could’ve stayed longer!!
