I am very happy with the customer care and service I experienced as a employee paid via Umbrella. Laid off due to site shutdown, essential because of the corona virus pandemic lockdown, I had only worked one month of a six month contract. I was advised I was entitled to Furlough by Umbrella, who worked hard to arrange this for relevant contracted workers. Although payment process was slow, Peter Langham and staff kept me regularly updated of progress, any issues arising causing delays and supported with reassuring they were working hard to resolve. I have already thanked all those involved who maintained communication, answered any queries and were generally accomodating during the challenges of 2020. I have started a new role and requesting my P45 etc again received great customer care and a speedy response from Ciara Morris. Thanks again to all who helped manage and arrange furlough.
I've been very fortunate enough to speak with Ciara Morris (customer service advisor) when I've called Umbrella on a few occasions. What a breath of fresh air. As soon as she answers the call I feel at ease before I even raise a query. Her telephone manner is impeccable... pleasant and professional. I appreciate it must be extremely busy at Umbrella at this time dealing with the current furlough scheme payments and the many concerned, confused, frustrated or even angry customers. Yet Ciara is always calm and friendly. She listens, then clearly and concisely explains and updates you with all the relevant information you require. I hope this doesn't sound patronising as "she is only doing her job" but there are ways of doing our jobs... it's the little things that can make a big difference. I just want to Umbrella, and Ciara to know that I appreciate it.
Over the 2 years I have been with the company they have behaved in a professional manner. I would like to thank them for their work getting the furlough payments. Even though there were a few hiccups they sorted them out quickly. I would both use again and recommend them to anyone.

one of best place if you want your payroll to trap you in paperwork with high margin, never to forget the over charge suddenly appears on to your wage slip and pension scam in the background is ongoing. only thing you get is British speaking agent and team with lot of scam in the background for sure. white white collar crime in action in a very sophisticated way.

Umbrella's customer service has been quick, helpful and timely. They have also responded promptly to requests relating to delayed payments by my agency, ensuring that they advised on later cut off times which prevented delays. I would recommend the service.

Sep 15,2020I’m editing this as 2 weeks have since gone by since my first comment, so feel it only fair to give an update on progress made by Umbrella Company.......absolutely zero!! The only thing moved on in this time is the number of invoices they have submitted incorrectly which have been rejected - now up to 7. I’m now 2 months with no pay, and no action on their part to resolve this. I am now at the end of my tether with this ‘organisation’. They continue to charge me a monthly ‘management fee’ - maybe they should re label this as a ‘mismanagement fee’. Whatever you do, DO NOT sign up to this company and believe their lies. I have been with Umbrella.co.uk for 6 months now, and I’m struggling to say anything positive about them at all. The only reason I have given them 1 star is because they do tend to respond to my emails within 24 hours. Problems started right at the start with them not including the PO number on their invoices, and billing the wrong day rate for 2 months. Eventually sorted out the day rate problem, but still 6 months later they continue to invoice without quoting the PO number - which is rejected by my agency. Rather than resubmitting correctly, these invoices have just been sat there - so I’m still waiting to be paid for work I completed > 2 months ago. What’s worse is I now have a timesheet that’s been outstanding for 100 days, despite it having been ‘paid’ on the portal - seems they have applied funds to an incorrect timesheet. Have also found out from my agency, that there are a couple of invoices that haven’t even been submitted. When I queried the late payments With Umbrella.co.uk, I was told that ‘they process 000’s of invoices monthly to various agencies, and they can’t be expected to actively chase for payment’.......really?? I thought that was your job! I don’t normally write reviews, but for this cowboy outfit I thought I’d make an exception. I know there are many Umbrella companies out there that may be equally as bad - but if you want to avoid a constant battle to make sure they’re doing their job properly, and hours of wasted time on your part, I’d definitely suggest you avoid this one.
