Feb 15,2022I researched profusely for months prior to going ahead with wanting breast uplift and augmentation surgery and came across Wood MediSpa and James. From the moment I stepped into Wood for my consultation I felt at ease and knew that this was the place I wanted my surgery. James talked me through my options and was so informative answering any questions or fears I had. The day of the surgery I was taken to my wonderful room that overlooked the beautiful grounds. All the nurses went above and beyond to cater to any needs I had and to make sure I was comfortable and ready for surgery. James and his team from the receptionist all the way to the anaesthetists were some of the loveliest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Not to mention the food was incredible also. James has completely changed my life and I feel I have gone from having little confidence to finally being able to love my body again after the birth of my children. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you so much.

Feb 03,2022I had a breast augmentation and rhinoplasty with Paul Wilson back in September. The treatment I received was excellent, I was well looked after from beginning to end, and so far am very happy with my results. I would not hesitate to recommend wood medispa!

Jan 26,2022A fantastic place in beautiful surroundings, Wood Medi Spa felt more like an exclusive hotel than a hospital. I had breast augmentation surgery just before Christmas and I am absolutely delighted with the results, as I knew I would be having been a patient of James McDiarmid 9 years prior, whose expertise and manner is so reassuring when taking the decision to have surgery. I received 5 star service from such a warm and professional team, my room had an amazing view of the grounds and was a great place to relax before my surgery. Post surgery I was able to enjoy the dinner I had ordered off of the menu cooked by the in house chef, which quite frankly tasted like heaven on a plate, particularly after my pre op fast. Thank you to James and all the team for making my visit a pleasure.

Jan 20,2022I had a skin cancer check with Dr. Toby Nelson as a preventative check. He was very welcoming, efficient and informative about the check. He not only performed a full body check but also was able to diagnose and prescribe treatment for an unrelated skin issue I’d been struggling with. I’d highly recommend seeing him for a skin check! The staff at this stunning location are super lovely and warm. I felt really comfortable here and even enjoyed a walk around the gardens.

Jan 08,2022After years of suffering with severe eczema and feeling like my normal GP didn’t want to listen I decided to book private and see Dr Toby Nelson. As soon as I entered Dr Toby Nelsons room I felt as he took me very serious and recognised my struggles. Straight away he done a plan for me to get my skin under control and made me feel as there could be a end to being in agony and get my skin under control. I left the clinic feeling relieved and quite emotional. Thank you Dr Toby Nelson!

From the initial consultation I knew this was the hospital I wanted to have my surgery. I would highly recommend it to everyone. James and all of his team are exceptional.

Dec 22,2021I consulted with Dr Toby Nelson about a basel cell carcinoma on my cheek which had been weeping and getting progressively bigger. From the first meeting he was very informative and reassuringly positive about the outcome. Dr Nelson undertook Mohs surgery on my cheek at Wood Medispa, which proved the right route as he and his team were able to identify just how deep the the cancer cells were and remove them. I am very happy I made the right choice in selecting this most professional and technically advanced team based in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. A big thank you to them.

Dec 22,2021I had MOHs surgery two weeks ago with Dr Toby Nelson, he was amazing. I was terrified of having injections in my nose, he assured me I would’nt feel anything & I didn’t, Toby & Erin his nurse were so kind throughout the whole procedure as we’re all the other staff I have seen or spoken to. It’s only been two weeks since my op so I am still waiting for the stitches to dissolve but so far it’s looking good. I would highly recommend the Woods Medi Spa & look forward to my next appointment in February. Thank you Brenda

Undertaking any cosmetic surgery is a huge decision, but from the moment I met James and his team, he made me feel at ease. His expertise and knowledge is unrivalled. He explains his thinkings in such an easy to understand manner, you feel like you are chatting to a very knowledgeable friend. The experience at Wood MediSpa itself was 1st class. Everyone I met there- from the receptionist, to the nurses and anaesthetists- treated me like I was a VIP. The facilities are world class and the food is divine. And as for the results...life changing. James truly is a magician. Dec 08,2021This was my second procedure with James McDermid, first being at the plymouth Nuffield, second at Wood Medispa. Woods by far was a fantastic place with amazing surrounds, clean, comfortable and beautiful new rooms. From the moment I arrived, everyone was very kind and welcoming. I was quite nervous which was shown by my BP and pulse being slightly elevated but all the team put my mind to rest. I was waited on constantly, which I find hard to do as quite active, but nothing was out of their way. Even the tea and biscuits at 4am in the morning when I was starving and couldn’t sleep. I would highly recommend this place, as it is truly beautiful and a lovely place to have a day of rest after your procedure. James made me feel comfortable and explained all in detail and is highly recommended by the plastic surgeons who work in the Southwest. I can’t fault anything about my stay and I highly recommend the steak and chips when you have been nil by mouth. I even had a follow up call to make sure I was ok about five hours later after discharge. Excellent nursing care and a perfect place for surgery.

Dec 08,2021I have recently had 360 Vaser as part of a two step procedure (previous abdominoplasty) and would like to say how thrilled I am with the results. Vaser is a relatively new procedure so I knew it was vital to choose a recommended, safe, experienced surgeon who is highly skilled with its use, basically this turned out to be the man that did my tummy tuck… James McDiarmid. From when you first meet him, it will become abundantly clear how passionate he is about his professional development and the outcome for YOU. He is intuitive and easy to talk to. He has the knack for making you feel like you are the most special patient that day, which lets face it, is what we need when considering undertaking such procedures. As I have now had the pleasure of staying at Wood Medispa twice (and it is a pleasure!) I can tell you the experience is wonderful. A quick look at the website will show you the beauty of the grounds but the experience of the care you will receive can’t be captured on camera. I had a two night stay for my abdominoplasty (standard at wood medispa unlike many hospitals that discharge after one night) I didn’t realise until I went through the surgery how the recovery is more than the healing of surgical incisions. The entire recovery started with the very best support from nursing and care staff on the ward. There are too many to mention by name and I fear I’d miss somebody out. They seem to love working at Wood and care about you, each other and the surgical team. They are so happy to help you with anything you may ask. If any of the staff are reading this I apologise for the amount of times I asked for more biscuits at 2am and then said ‘oh sorry not those, the Viennese ones please’ Not once did anybody remind me that biscuits may be why I was there in the first place! It’s important you take a holistic approach to your recovery and you won’t find a better start to your journey to the environment, care or expertise of the team at wood medispa. I am reliably informed I wasn’t the first to say it and I am sure I wont be the last ‘I didn’t want to leave’ The anaesthetists… over my visits I met Louis, Andrey and Tom and they’re all complete gents with a great sense of humour. They will take requests for your chosen track for going under anaesthetic which I liked. I have had anaesthetic issues in the past with sickness and awareness (Including treatment at a private hospital) This was all taken in to account in my consultation and these guys put me at ease and brought me back round …not a sick bowl in sight! One of the most common questions I am asked about the procedures is ‘how much was it?’ I am not a wealthy woman by any stretch but I can honestly say that money has become the least significant part of the entire experience. In order of importance please remember safety, trust, proven track record, care and please pick a surgeon who is there for you from the start line to the finish line. Good Luck and enjoy the outcomes of your new body and confidence if you go to James McDiarmid!!

I have been completely looked after by James and his team, before during and after operations. Wood Clinic is an outstanding place and I would recommend to anyone looking to have surgery.

Dec 03,2021Well what can I say, James did a number of surgeries on my daughter so he was the obvious choice. I saw James over a year before my surgery his advice was honest no hard sell, told me what to do for the best results and I followed his advice. I lost the weight went back and again very honest about what to expect, no unrealistic promises I’m never going to look 30 at 50 years old but the results surpassed my expectations - excellent care and advice before and after, nothing was too much trouble. I contacted James a few times post surgery sent photos etc and I was put at ease immediately I cannot recommend him more highly. Cannot wait for my next surgery I have recommended him to everyone I know.

Dec 02,2021I had a B/A in June 2021 with Dr James McDiarmid. For my first plastic surgery experience I knew I wanted to stay local (I also live in SW England) and have been recommend James many times by my peers. I had the consultation in which I felt extremely comfortable a few months earlier and booked the surgery the same day. James knew exactly what results I was hoping for, I gave him some idea of what I wanted but in terms of size I left that up to him, the best decision I’ve ever made. He’s done a perfect job and my B/A has changed my life for the better. The whole experience at Wood Medi Spa was amazing, like a 5 star hotel with AMAZING food such as pork belly and eggs Benedict and wonderful staff. I woke from my surgery very happy (likely the drugs) and so so hungry and the nurses kept bringing me a tonne of deciduous food. Nothing was too much of a problem, from helping me clean my lash extensions to bringing me snacks when I was hungry throughout the stay! I would recommend anyone considering a breast augmentation to book a consultation with James. He and his team at Wood Medi Spa are on another level.

Feb 15,2022Well what can I say apart from what an amazing, outstanding at ease experience. I had rhinoplasty at the beginning of January with James McDiarmid who was recommended by a friend. He is amazing!!!! Made me feel so relaxed about the Procedure I understood everything he told me, he put my mind at rest. I knew I was in safe hands. Also the team of nurses who were with me during my stay I can not thank enough!!! So so lovely!!! Best thing I’ve ever done!! And would highly recommend going to wood medispa. Thankyou again. Xx
