I disliked that worldStrides failed to provide boarding passes so that students had to miss dinner while waiting in line for boarding passes. This trip cost far too much for participants to miss meals.

Over all the trip was great! The only issue was our flight home. We changed airlines and had to collect our luggage and check in at new airline and go thru security with only a short layover. Was very stressful!

The overall trip was great. Mike I. our tour guide & Linda A. our group lead did a masterful job working through changes. One of our busdrivers Dominique was an incredible wealth of knowledge of the area and the people. It was incredible to see the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museums and the diamond cutters. The trip to the Royal Delft production was one of the highlights for me. The Ann Frank house and the Dutch Resistance museum were quite moving. On one of the trams back to the hotel, we encountered a Russian lady who took over our group discussion. Mike was able to gently keep her POV on only the WW2 topic our group was discussing. He did a super masterful job of redirecting the conversation to keep it positive!! (It is amazing how we teach a version of history that makes each of us appreciate our own personal country. It is also great when we can have a very respectful discussion of that history perspective. Thank you Mike making that happen!) My only negative of the trip is I could have used a bit more time (15 minutes) at the windmills. This visit was rushed. However, some of us were able to see the process of the windmill grinding the pigments for the Rembrandt restoration work. The canal rides were a great way to see the cities. The one boat captain in Bruges was great! Funny and able to switch to four different languages seamlessly to tell the same joke as he was pointing out historic buildings. Amazing! The hotel was very accommodating & good place to stay for this trip.

My life was changed the day I flew to Spain with my fellow classmates from my high school. We landed in Barcelona, Spain on June 20th, 2024 and went through multiple cities, including Barcelona (just mentioned), Zaragoza, Madrid, Córdoba, and Seville. We then traveled to the southern most area of Spain near Malaga (5th largest city in Spain I believe) and took a ferry to Ceuta, which is a small strip of land that is still apart of Spain but is apart of North Africa, and from there we took a bus into Morocco and drove to Tetuan and spent most of the day there. Then we went back to Spain and drove to Lisbon, Portugal the next day and on July 1st, 2024 we flew back to Boston, Massachusetts and drove home to New Hampshire. Before this trip I had never been outside the borders of the mainland U.S. before, but after this trip I have not experienced what seemed to be a whole new world on its own and completely different cultures from the U.S., especially Morocco, which is a primarily Muslim country that speaks a multitude of languages, primarily Arabic, French, and Spanish. I am glad I got to experience a part of Europe and I will definitely be traveling back to Spain, a country with beautiful landscapes covered in olive trees and rocky countryside in many parts. There were fields that seemed to go on forever that were covered in these olive trees and other plants that thrive in the Mediterranean climate like grapes and figs. After this trip I am truly considering moving to Spain (possibly near Madrid) because of how beautiful the country is and how populous and interesting it is as well. I want to thank WorldStrides for providing this experience and I am truly amazed at how many places I got to see during this trip.

Late-Night Flights and Delays My recent experience with a late-night return flight was far from ideal. The timing of the flight, coupled with a significant delay, made for a frustrating and exhausting end to an otherwise enjoyable trip. Late-night flights are rarely convenient, but when compounded by delays, it becomes an even bigger issue, especially for those traveling. In the future, I would strongly advise against scheduling flights that depart late at night. It is not an acceptable option for anyone involved. The inconvenience and fatigue are simply not worth it, and I will be avoiding such flight times going forward.

I have no complaints about Worldstrides. I feel that everyone went above and beyond taking care of us during this trip. I would highly recommend Worldstrides to anyone taking a trip to Hawaii.

Bus driver was great. First day was too fast paced. Also the flights were too late.

The tour guide was incredibly nice and funny. He made the trip very interesting. The food was very delicious. Going to all of the museums and memorials was very interesting and educational. I loved being able to experience all of the activities. The bus driver was also really nice. :)

The itinerary was packed with great sites to see for the middle school students, but the time frame was too tight for The Capital and Arlington Natl Cemetery (had to uber staff and students who participated in wreath laying ceremony). Both of those sites had a ton of walking (better to split up) and kids struggled to keep up the pace and enjoy. The Holocaust Museum was a great site to have on the itinerary, unfortunately it was extremely packed. Timing to let students in was not great with so many other people visiting, barely room to walk or read anything. Crowded were 4 people deep trying to view. Food court at L'enfant Plaza SW had almost 1/2 of the restaurant choices closed. Most kids got their food with only 15 minutes to eat because of long lines. Should check dates to see if restaurants are open on holiday weekends or change lunch location. MadHatter Taco Buffet - food good and service fast, but bathrooms are extremely small, dirty, and unsanitary. Students were disappointed that Ford's Theatre was on their list, but it was closed. Guide at the hotel across the street did not direct or let the students know what they were looking at. Did not know that is was suppose to be self guided. Our Leader was very nice and pleasant, but struggled to identify students difficulty understanding information and attention level. Details were over their head, and she lacked awareness of when she lost their interest. She would be better at servicing an older audience that would appreciate that level of detail. Kids did not get enough time at sites or get a lot of meaningful pictures/memories because of the time she had them sitting and lecturing (which could have been conducted on the bus prior to our destination). She was not a good match for middle school level but would be great with older students or adults.

Our trip to DC and NY was great. My daughter and I appreciated all the knowledge and insight our guides provided at every stop. We learned so much on the trip, which was more meaningful learning in the places where the events took place.

Our trip got off to a good start with the charter bus arriving to the school on time to pick up the students and chaperones. However, once we arrived at Dulles, there was no field rep to greet us as planned. This created a lot of confusion and we had to make several phone calls before finally getting in touch with the bus driver. After about 20 minutes, we were finally able to get connected to the bus driver and get picked up. However, once we got on the bus, we discovered that the boxed lunches that we ordered did not include the vegetarian meals that we requested. We were able to call our program leader while we were on the way to pick him up and he was able to get us a few vegetarian sandwiches. On the second day we had another logistical issue with lunch. The restaurant was not prepared and lunch ended up taking nearly 2 hours. This caused us to miss an opportunity to visit one of the Smithsonian museums. On the positive side, everything at the hotel was great. As for our program leader, he was very knowledgeable but was easily agitated when the kids were not quiet and listening to him. Instead of dealing with that in a way that would make things more fun and interesting for them, he chose to reprimand them which was not effective with a group of 13 and 14-year-old boys and girls. In contrast to that, the tour guide at the Capitol was much more playful in his tone and engaging with the kids. While I understand why our program leader was a bit annoyed, I would expect that he would be somewhat used to dealing with kids. With that said, I think things did improve as the trip went on and I hope the kids were able to learn a few things from him. Again, he was very knowledgeable when he wasn't agitated. Lastly, as I was part of the planning committee and one of the chaperones on the trip, I was somewhat disappointed with the WorldStrides person that was helping to plan our itinerary. She seemed to have a difficult time figuring out how to include all the sites that we wanted to see and I ended up needing to lay it out for her. Given the number of years that WorldStrides has been doing this and the premium they charge, I expected more. Overall, the trip was successful but there were simply too many issues for what we paid to give WorldStrides a five-star rating.

Putting this review in on behalf of my child, who went to DC with the 8th grade class. The opportunity to learn so much more than you have time or the opportunity to within the normal classroom is amazing. The 3 day tour covers many of the most popular and most important sites in the DC area and the tour guides and volunteers just take the tours to a totally different level. While it is not a cheap trip, it does cover transportation to/from the school to the airport, the airport to the hotel, and to all the tour locations, admission tickets, hotel, airfare, meals, tips, etc. You most likely would not be able to reproduce this itinerary yourself and have it cost less plus getting the knowledge of the tour guides. I would not suggest sending your child if they are not willing to take full advantage of what is being offered, as then it would be a waste of money.

The tour guides were great- knowledgeable and worked with the students well. The airport staff was helpful, although there was a problem with tickets for our return flight which caused panic to make the flight. Our hotel liaison was ok but not accommodating at times. Finally, the overall trip was excellent and amazing how we fit so much into a few days.

My daughter was on this trip. She is 13 and in 8th grade. The only complaint I had the entire time was about the food. Especially the USDA food court, which really surprised me. I'm assuming every other aspect of the tour was great, so just the food choices were poor.
