Mar 05,2025We purchased a policy in good faith, believing that we would never need to process a claim. A couple of months in, my daughter's three year old cheap (and locked) $150 bicycle was stolen. A police report was filed. A video was submitted. Claim denied. Why? Because we did not have a receipt from Walmart for purchasing the bicycle from three years before. The money, to us, is not the issue. It is an insurance company believing they can arbitrarily deny claims to ensure profitability. We have offered to submit numerous other proofs of owndership--including time and date stamped photographs. The stated reason was that a receipt would "prove" that we didn't sell the bicycle and then claim it was stolen. Seriously? A receipt in my possession does not mean I actually have the bicycle. Anyway, this is the warn you that your policy through NSSI (Worth Ave. Group) does not bring peace of mind.
