Apr 26,2020Overall a fantastic service with a video/whiteboard platform that works pretty darned well. My only gripe is the number of tutors that just want the work/assignment so they can do it for you and then request payment via venmo/paypal. Not necessarily Wyzant's fault, but need to spend good money to find the right tutor

Apr 26,2020I love Wyzant because it is a very serious learning website where tutors, teachers are very professional, knowledgeable, kind. I love it because, even during the pandemic, you could rely on through on-line lessons. You can find experienced teachers for all subjects and for all pockets.

Apr 17,2020They deleted my account because they claimed I tried to pay a tutor to do my work for me which is NOT TRUE. Their system just flags certain words and deactivated my account because I mentioned the school I go to. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not use again. Customer service completely unhelpful and accusatory. I never asked anyone to do work for me and never would.

Apr 14,2020Updated 6/2/20: Today my daughter had lesson on wyzant from 1:30pm to 2:30pm PST. During this 1 hr class, for 3 times, the session had to be restarted again because either the student could not hear or the teacher could not hear or the session froze. Everytime, when the session is being restarted they are spending 5-10 mins on it. So atleast 3×5=15 mins wasted in 1hr lesson in just setting things back up (ignoring the interuption to the lesson). So its a loss on student's part as the student lost few minutes of lesson and even for the teacher as the teacher cannot completed what he/she had planned for the session. Today's scenario was just one example but similar things happen in every session. Last time when I sent an email to wyzant about my experience they sent me back an email with basic computer functions that I can use to improve the quality. I am aware of all those basic computer functions and my internet quality is also excellent and I have checked all those. So now maybe you need to look into your IT issues. Definitely it is the spot to find a teacher but the app needs a lot of improvements. It freezes multiple times during the class or one there is some issue with the audio.

Apr 14,2020Should have a calendar function to make scheduling more manageable. I can also receive Russian and Spanish tutoring from women on LiveJasmine who take a more liberal approach to tutoring. The same liberal reality should exist on Wyzant.

Apr 09,2020Has to have some of the worst onboarding I've ever experienced. And their customer support seems to only compound this. Very disappointed. They offered to refund the background check instead of telling me exactly what to do to get approved... they have no idea what I need to do and keep telling me to figure it out on my own. Not sure if this is a luck of the draw or a systemic problem. I see no resolution in sight. They insist that I troubleshoot their broken onboarding system for them until they "like what I come up with". It feels like I paid to do their customer support job for them. Very odd.
