Absolutely shocking customer service and policy on cancellation due to illness. I was hospitalised due to serious health and only discharged a few days before my course was due to start. I called customer service who told me I would not be able to receive a refund or reschedule my course unless I provided a doctors note. I did so immediately but was then told I had to provide a doctors not that specifically said I was unfit to drive. All these processes I had to go through were not in the terms and conditions. I also provided this immediately. I spoke to various members of the unsympathetic and blunt customer service team who told me contradicting things. I finally got my case sent to management who replied with the same copy and pasted response I had received before. When I asked about making a complaint I was directed back to the blunt unsympathetic customer service team that my poor experience began with. Do not use this company, they are appalling.
My driving instructor Rafiq H was great, really good teacher and makes sure you're comfortable thought out the day would definitely recommend him to anyone 10/10
Had to learn how to drive in a manual after driving automatic for 1 year and a bit for a new job and i was very nervous, but my instructor helped me out so much and by the end of the week I was confident enough to be able to drive without much help! Definitely recommend to anyone who is worried about driving or wants to pass quicker!
All trainers were patient and understanding,
5day charged me £1500 to teach me how to throw money out of the window. I took out a loan to pay for this course, which is not 5day’s fault, however for the duration of the 5 day course, my driving instructor during the theory side of things on several occasions told me i wouldn’t know the answer to the question as i was a woman. He routinely shouted at me for not knowing how to drive ie not pushing the clutch down before changing gears-, shouting i was going to “break his f***ing car”, paying too much attention to my surroundings when learning to control the vehicle. I didn’t want to put a damper on the course as it was only 5 days but after the 2nd day I'd had enough of the complete unprofessionalism I was shown, and I told him he had pedals for a reason and was ultimately supposed to be in control of the car, after this he melodramatically told me he would always dual control me from now as if that wasn’t what he should be doing in the first place if i was making a mistake, especially if it was detrimental to his car. He was using his phone whilst we were driving on a dual carriage way and when I expressed my concern about this I was faced with attitude and apathy. After this lesson, I told him I thought he was rude and that this was no environment for anyone to learn how to drive. He said this had upset him and he would take my comments into consideration. The next day was probably the only well conducted lesson I had with 5day, though still not brilliant, it was better than the previous 4 days. At the end of this lesson my instructor took me to the center for my theory test and told me my driving had improved a lot that day. I asked him to fill out my report card and he told me it wouldn’t be necessary as I wouldn't be returning for more lessons. When i called 5day customer service the next day, I was greeted by a very bitter woman who seemingly was doing everything in her power to not help me, and hung up on me as I “was threatening her.” I called back, as all I wanted was for them to contact my driving instructor to ask him to fill in this form so I knew which areas I needed to improve on before I could take my test. I explained to her I had under no circumstances threatened her and after that it took a lot of work for her to even write an email to him, and she told me they will write to me tomorrow with his response. 2 days later, still no response so i called back hoping for someone else to answer the phone, not wanting to deal with the woman with the dire attitude, but to my despair it was the same woman who told me she could not control how long he took to answer his emails. I could go on for hours with all of the problems this place has caused me, but I already feel I’ve wasted too much of my time on this place. I am currently writing an email to the DVSA and the TSO so if you have any like minded experiences with this company I implore you to contact me. For possible future clients thinking about purchasing a driving course with this company, I would advise taking your money elsewhere as this company will do the opposite of teaching you to drive. Ps 5day are you also checking your positive reviews for genuine reviews? Or does that not matter…. Hard to believe they’re real with the atrocious behaviour from all accounts I was shown.
Great service, great team and fantastic experience all round all staff more than willing to help in any way the can from instructors to office staff. Had Julian as an instructor and passed with flying colours with only 3 minors couldn’t recommend anymore to somebody
Overall, I found the experience very satisfying. Steph was absolutely amazing at building confidence and understanding of the theory side of things, and Aaron was a very calm and composed influence on my lessons. Because of this, I was able to pass my theory comfortably, and I passed my driving test on the first go. The wait for my test was three weeks roughly after my course, so luckily I didn't have too longer wait. I'd fully encourage people to use 5day if you're a bit daft like me and need to learn it all in one block. It's worthwhile.
Totally misled. We have been waiting for 4 months for a test after completing the '5day' course. We booked directly and have a test in 6 weeks. It is not a fast way to learn to drive. The booking was for my son.
5 day learning is the most unrealistic, unorganised institution I’ve ever faced. In my situation I paid a lot of money to be treated like a chip on a casino table. April 18th 2022 is when I booked my course, now in January of 2023 I have my test. I started with an instructor who taught me alot in the time and by the time I had come to do my test he had left the company and I was told I had to do another assessment after already doing one. I did that assessment with a new car and a new instructor around November 2022. Nearly 2 months later having my test I didn’t get an email or text to say your test is in … amount of time. Like I said 2 months later from having my first assessment in this car I have my test I have 20 mins practice. So my 5 day intensive course was realistically an 1 hour and 20 minute clip. A waste of money and time and effort. I think 5 day responding to this shows exactly what type of company they are, they care about getting your money and leaving you in the dry. Spending more time reading and responding to reviews rather than spending time looking after your clients. (Whatever is ‘common practice’ in your industry isn’t common to everyone.) Also the so called ‘advisor’ was arrogant and rude and didn’t far about what I had to say and just said what she said to follow the 5 day script
The course made me feel completely independent as a driver within the first two days. The teaching methods from the instructor were very helpful for me.
Passed with John Pearce, helped me so much after struggling with other driving instructors!
Passed first time with john pearce awsome Guy and so much patience. If it wasnt for john and 5 day definitely wouldn’t have passed as quick as i did. Thanks again for all the help!
Brilliant teaching by Instructor Jinda and James
Theory lessons were very helpful I got a perfect score on the multiple choice!! And they made sure we fully understood the concepts and applied those to our practical driving. The course itself was obviously packed and intensive (as it says in the name) but I got so much out of it. My driving instructor was great too: very encouraging and explained in a way I would understand.
Great experience with 5 day Ipswich. Tristan was my instructor, and after a really poor experience some years ago with a different driving school he has rebuilt my confidence, shown amazing patience and explains things incredibly well, along with this he is a top bloke so made me feel really relaxed from day one, thank you Tristan!
My driving instructor James at 5Day made my driving experience easy. I have really enjoyed my week on the course and would highly recommend it.
Pwi-ha Li was absolutely amazing during the 5 day ! I can’t thank her enough for the support and confidence she gave me throughout those days.
Passed my test with 5day. I had a fantastic teacher is James. He is a brilliant teacher and such a great bloke. Thanks James for all your help
Really good experience!! Done the 5Day course, learned everything I needed to learn, got my test booked the following week and passed it! Instructor Tristian Andrews teaches really well, has patience and tends to decrease your stress levels and leave you confident and in control of the vehicle. As God made the path and allowed me to pass, so He will allow you too! So believe in Him. “John 14:12-14”

Feb 22,2023Way to expensive for what you actually get, I paid around £1750 over all for 5 days of theory and practical driving after the 5 days, 5Day effectively went quiet on me for the best part of 7 months no lessons, no conversation nothing. to then give me a "free" half an hour before my test date to drive. it really isn't worth the money you are 10000% better sticking to the other way of getting passed! i wish i did Edit: My reply to 5Days reply, the reason they didn’t hear from me is because we could never arrange a time for a 1 hour “free” lesson because the driving instructors only work from 10 am till 4 pm and obviously I’m working during that time, but 1 and a half hours of driving in 8 months doesn’t scream helpful. Also you get “fast tracked” but 8 months doesn’t sound so fast. (I have felt this way for months the review has nothing to do with my results)
