I would give amigo zero stars if possible. I do have a complain ongoing with them regarding a current loan. They were topping up my loan every month at one point then last October I fell into serious money problems I topped up my £2000 loan which I had been paying for 19 months and received £600. LOL. However I expected my financial predicament to improve. It didn't and still hasn't. I'm in and out of work due to ill health and really am struggling. I cancelled my direct debit this month. As well as a couple of others as I have had an unexpected change in circumstances however the money still was taken. They took it as a debit payment. I explained that once my rent went out which was £600 I would be left with £100 for the month to live on. This wasn't including food. I spoke to a lady on the phone who stated that from my previous affordability assessment it showed that I could afford this months payment. To which I replied 'yes with my wage' I will not receive that this month. She then put me on hold. She told me that I should leave that payment as ongoing this month as they didn't want responsibility to fall on my guarantor but would have no option if I wanted this payment reversed. I told her my guarantor had been removed. I was put on hold again. She then came back and said it was even more the reason for me to keep this payment as she didn't want me to have a negative effect on my credit rating. (even though I am trying to arrange something else as I need more money this month to live on). I have a claim ongoing with a company at the moment. Amigo says they have done nothing wrong and that I can afford to repay. Up until my last top up. They say that it's quite clear that i have come into financial difficulty in that time as my credit file states that. So they Do know I am struggling. They also want to leave me to struggle. They will not refund the £97.58 until I send bank statements to show my outgoings and incomings. I asked how will this help? What else can you do when you receive this information. I will still have to pay DOUBLE next month. I will still have a hell of a lot of APR added to my account which I will have to pay. I need that money this month. To live on. I didn't expect I was going to be in financial difficulties. I have ALWAYS paid on time. I was asking for help to be refused. So people just be aware. If you do for any reason come into financial trouble and can't pay don't expect amigo to care that you can't afford your priority bills never mind their bills. And do not expect them to defer a payment. All the b******t they spew about being there to help and that they don't want to see you struggle is nonsense. If anything this will just look even better for me when it gets reviewed by the financial ombudsman.. Yes I could have sent bank statements in. But I don't see why I should. You are quick enough to take my money when I've paid way more back than what ive borrowed over the years yet you could not give me any help when i truly needed it. It's ashame you wasn't more thorough with your lending practices. I was once told by someone at amigo it doesn't really matter what my incomings and outgoings are as they focus more on my guarantor anyway. LOL. So this is why amigo are in such trouble guys. Cos they couldn't give a s**t what you can afford as they know they can get it off your guarantor if you fail to keep up with repayments. I am in a lot of debt. Mostly council tax and even rent arrears trying to keep repayments with these guys so they wouldn't harass my guarantor. They don't care either like they claim.
I had my redress on the 10th July and accepted it the same day, they told me it can take 15 days to go into my account, can anyone tell me what times it can go into my account please or will it be overnight when the bank updates, its getting very stressful now as people who accepted after me had theres a few days later Update still no refund, I'm reading people have had their refunds within 3 days, how is this fair, I've rang them twice an get the same reply, no help at all, I'm being evicted and need this money to pay my landlord, they dont answer emails, my health suffered enough when I had the loan, I'm suffering all over again waiting for this
I stupidly took out a loan with Amigo in 2014 the repayments were killing me each month I managed to get myself into more debt paying them back so I put in a complaint and I have now been waiting over 26 weeks for it to be looked at this is unacceptable. Amigos complain process is a joke how about dealing with the people who have had their complaints in for longer, while I am very happy for the people who have had their complaints dealt with within 9 weeks I am appalled at the treatment I am experiencing, 30 mins so far in waiting to speak to someone on the phone, my advice to anyone is stay well clear of Amigo
0 stars if I could... put in a complaint as a guarantor on the 13th January and still not heard anything back. After numerous requests for updates I get the “high volumes... Covid delay...”, but over 6 MONTHS is ridiculous when other peoples more complicated complaints are being upheld in a much smaller time frame. Disgusted that they can treat people so differently.
Waiting 20 weeks and my complaint still has not been resolved. Call to be told we are working on figures two weeks ago..... still nothing. Others complain and have had a response after 8 weeks. Not good enough Amigo terrible organisation why resolve others who have not had to wait five months!
I sent in a complaint in January. I am still waiting for a reply. Ive sent at least chaser emails and have called numerous times. Really poor. If I'd missed a payment they would have been on my tail.
Absolute joke of a company. Made a complaint in January, finally agreed my claim and promised redress would be paid no later than 15 working days, well guess what?... That's right, still nothing, can pay out in 24hrs if you want to borrow, will chase you immediately for a late payment but its OK to leave everyone who's due money back to wait and wonder with false promises. OK, they have a massive back log of complaints but if all my figures have been calculated etc then why am I Still waiting for my money? That's without going into the fact that some people have had there claims paid in days, while others have been waiting for weeks. In these hard times, especially when everyone's struggling, this is totally unacceptable.
If there was a way to give 0 stars I would have. This company is full of lies and have no intention of paying anybody there money, there will just fob you off with different stories until you get fed up of calling or just go stir crazy. There accepted my complaint and said I had to wait 14 days for my gurrantor to reply after an hour there said my gurrantor replies and accepted the offer and there have sent the offer to them. When I spoke to my gurrantor there said there have not spoken to anybody from amigos so basically it was just a lie to get rid off me. I hope one day I will eventually get my money but I’m not counting on it. Advice to everyone out there STAY AWAY FROM AMIGOS
My initial complaint was rejected by Amigo but then on June 12th I received an email apologising for how they dealt with my complaint and that now they were upholding my complaint. I was told that i had to wait 14 days for my guarantor to respond and then i would get my figures 5 days later. So fast forward 3 weeks and still no figures. Its not even a complicated claim, it was 1 loan no top up and it's been paid off. I've spoken to numerous people and I've even managed to get the email addresses of the executive board members and directors who I have also emailed with no response. My next action will be to publish these email addresses unless I get my claim sorted asap. I am desperate for this money as i'm about to be evicted with my 5 year old daughter. Amigo please sort this and do the right thing
my complaint was sent to the on the 9th April my and guarantor accepted there offer on the 24th June was promised a refund with in 10 days still nothing emails ignored been told different things every time we speak shocking no wonder the company in the mess its in don't think any one communicates still no refund today
Horrendous rip off merchants
My redress date is between 20th July-27th having accepted offer on 6th July. 15 days to wait for a refund after agreeing is quite long time to wait considering a faster payment is 24 hours. They initially rejected my complaint in Dec then after re looking at it accepted it in June. They sent my redress details within timeframe they said and I’m preying that they also deliver the refund in agreed timeframe and I will happily give them 5 stars. If not, it would be a 1 as this is what everyone really cares about. And really they should have to stick to timeframes set by themselves! I have seen that people who have accepted their offers after I did have already received theirs, and many others have gone weeks over due date. Please don’t let me down Amigo. When I called up and spoke to an advisor he said he couldn’t check with transactions team as not allowed? Which makes no sense. My account is still open online and hoping they pay out when close it down at the same time? Is that right Amigo? Not close loan down and wait more time, as just like everyone else it’s the cash refund that we are all patiently waiting for. 23/07- utterly shocked that as per debt camel forum there are many people who have only just accepted redress in the last few days have already been paid and I’ve been waiting over 2 weeks and nothing! How is this fair? Shouldn’t you be authorising payments in the order they care through? Some refunds have been over £10000 and mine isn’t nearly half that amount. Please can someone send me my money I am owed back today! 27/7 update. Still no refund. Managed to speak to a lovely lady called Emma who said she would chase as shows no movement on my account. And that they don’t have bacs payments on a Monday, so was never going to be today! Even after amigo emailed me last week saying they see no major reason why it wouldn’t get it today? I’m hoping this is nearly the end. Waiting on an update whether they can bacs it to me tomorrow. Will let everyone know! 29/7 still no refund. Never a got back either when I was promised one. Rang again and again spoke to a lovely man who promised he would help me move things along as wasn’t sure why I hadn’t been paid in timeframe I was told. Will ring up again today and update later. Losing faith completely. 31/7 after numerous phone calls and speaking to a genuine lovely advisor called Natalie ...who rang me back to tell me she had chased me redress, and my acc is finally showing as closed. Hopefully money will be any day now. Thank you Natalie. Amazed by how genuine and compassionate she was and Amigo are lucky to have you! Thank you. (Back to 4 stars only due to the above and beyond customer service from Natalie).
Requested redress due to unfair lending, complaint took slightly longer to be dealt with however my complaint was upheld and was told I would receive figures in 2 weeks. I received figures and rang to accept straight away. I was then told I would have to wait 15 working days for the payment to be in my account. Today at 2pm will be 15 working days. On the whole I am happy with the outcome but waiting for the funds is appalling especially when you consider how quick they pay out the loan I originally applied for. I'm still keeping hope that they will pay the money as promised however if the payment isn't received today my rating will continue to go down. Please Amigo prove to everyone that you do stick to your own set time frames and give people a little hope! UPDATE - Still no response form Amigo and still no payment 23.07.2020 Update - managed to get through to a lovely man at Amigo today called Ben. He was ever so helpful and understanding and he is the first person at Amigo to actually listen to my query and requirements and is hopefully coming back to me today with some good news! 24.07.2020 BACK TO 5 STARS
Complaint upheld and then had to wait two weeks for calculations. Accepted redress almost two weeks ago after being told I was due over £3k in the calculations. Was told I’d have to wait another two weeks, then another two weeks after that? This isn’t right! I’ve lost my job due to Covid and could really do with the money back. I’m really concerned after reading yesterday’s news that Amigo will most likely be going into administration due to a huge redress bill of more than 127 million and share prices tumbling. I’m worried that none of us will be seeing our money back. I keep checking my bank account but I’m kidding myself thinking I’m getting my money aren’t I? I’ll update if I do receive my redress.
Very poor service, I accepted a redress on the 15th of June then I finally recieved an email yesterday saying my bank details were Sent wrong which is not true and they said my refund was been processed from the 14th of July I have emailed several times with no reply i accepted my offer 6 weeks ago
I would avoid this company unless you have absolutely no other option. My complaint is with the time it is taking to actually pay out redress. Me and my guarantor have been told multiple different time frames from when we accepted, my guarantor was told they would be paid out 15 working days after they accepted offer, this wasnt true and they then had to wait for my calculations and for me to accept, and were all still waiting. I was told on the phone 35 calendar days from when my complaint was upheld, then told 15 working days from when I accepted my offer, my guarantor was told 2 weeks also.... This gives us until friday this week but I'm not holding out much hope as nobody seems to know what they're talking about or doing. I fully understand there is a backlog and a large number of complaints to go through but theres a high volume of people who are being paid out who accepted there offer AFTER I did! Messy complaint handling. Quick to take money when you're struggling but being fobbed off waiting to be paid out. UPDATE- 24/7 still no pay out or any change in account just as I expected. This is 40 days after my guarantor accepted and now 3 weeks since I accepted. Absolutely unacceptable. Regarding the response funnily they're managing to pay out others who accepted waaaay after me.
I have given these a 4 star as when I was a guarantor several years ago they were always understanding if it wasn’t paid by the borrower. If I was unable to pay it for a few days then they didn’t take it from me until I asked. Recently I have had an offer of a refund for 11K, of course I accepted it! Everyone seems to be moaning on how long it’s taking but to be honest once I accepted the offer on June 15th they told me 14 days and then a further 15 working days for them to process it. This was Friday 17th July. Liv on Facebook messenger has been very helpful and has told me it will be in my account by the end of this week. If you look online a redress payment can take up to 5 working days to hit your account. So I’m hoping by the end of this week I will be sorted! So once you accept your offer expect at least 40 days ( 6 weeks to receive it!) I will update on here if I do get it on Friday to reassure people, then hopefully everyone will stop moaning to them 🤔 UPDATE: DONT LOSE HOPE PEOPLE!!! I GOT MY FULL REFUND TONIGHT!!🤩
Amigo are in a spot of bother at the moment. But to be fair my redress has been paid so hats off to them for doing the right thing. (Not that they had much choice)
Again 42 days after excepting the redress as per letter stated the final redress owed ,money never arrived in my account, to be told on the 16th working day there was a material difference in the 8%, but no one that works at amigo even knows what this means,to call again today and still cant get answer, a manager needs to be involved in this, when I email they never get answered He as now received funds in the bank
