Credit where credit due. I issued my complaint and received a response advising to allow up to 8 weeks for this to be looked into ( a standard procedure for all companies when issuing a complaint in the potential FOS) I received an update half way through 8 weeks to advise me it wasn’t being left and was being looked into ( excellent customer service, keeping you in the loop) I then received an acceptance offer email within the 8 weeks to which I saw reasonable and accepted. My only negative would be that I have emailed 3 days ago asking how long the refund would take and have yet to receive a response. A little frustrating when amigo boasts on getting a loan to a customer within 48 hours but not so eager to refund. Providing they stick to their word and I will be refunded then I really cannot fault my experience with them.
I raised an affordability complaint on January 3rd and I have no final response. I have sent numerous emails in which they asked for more time each time. I called the central complaint office and they said they are aiming to sort all the complaints by the end of this month of June. To me it feels like they are putting all these complaints off as long as they can because it looks like they will go bust, that way they will only pay a very very very small percentage to the complaints. I think they are putting everyone off to bide time. Mark my words, watch it play out, they will go bust at the end of this month. I bet that that was the real reason they made me wait so long without a final response. I’m expecting it, a final response after they go bust.
STAY AWAY. This mob are an absolute disgrace. I have been with them paying on time for over a year now. I unfortunately had my wallet and passport stolen whilst travelling with work. I asked for lee way in that my payment would be made late and over the agreed timeline as I had no cards and had to shift my money to another account to ensure l was not left with having my money stolen. I again asked for lee way and no support. Soon as I was home I paid the account as I stated in my email as soon as the event happened. I am/was about to move into our family home and at the last minute it was been declined due to Amigo leaving a late payment on my credit file. I’ve went and checked and I know I can ask for some goodwill gesture giving the circumstances and that I have paid on time for a good period of time. Even a correction of error would be of assistance with comments on why I was late!! They told me it was illegal with sarcastic emails and said no. I am disgusted and distraught our family home has now been declined because of them and there lack of support leaving us with no home at present now. STAY AWAY!!!!!
Had a loan everything was going fine until I applied for a top up!!! They keep rejecting me saying I’m bankrupt 🤣🤣🤣 I AM NOT bankrupt! I have found a lot of info about this company after being shocked at my rejection apparently it’s going bust!! So beware to any new customer stay away
ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. DO NOT USE. Updated 21/06 after receiving yet another generic update which gives even less information than the previous generic email that I received. USELESS, DECEITFUL COMPANY. PLEASE AVOID!!!! I complained to Amigo in February. They acknowledged my complaint and confirmed that they would respond within the necessary eight week period. They have still not responded and have consistently been dishonest, incompetent and unhelpful each time I have contacted them. They always give generic responses to any questions and will not escalate phone calls to management. One star and a rating of BAD is significantly better than this thieving, dishonest, soon to be bankrupt, company deserves!

WARNING: Do not take out a loan with Amigo, they don't ask for full information and it's all signed and sealed before they give anyone time to read all the Ts & Cs then you're tied in with no recourse. They start charging interest on the loan before the funds are available and they use bullying and intimidation tactics. Their after-sales service is the worst I've EVER experienced. It is now 18 weeks since I raised a complaint both directly and through Resolver regarding affordability for both myself and my guarantor, issues with meeting the payment due to severe illness and the appalling customer service and bullying tactics I have experienced. Amigo have so far missed several timescale deadlines for investigation and from the wording of their last response several weeks ago, it doesn't seem they've even started to investigate yet!! This on-going situation and the ongoing repayments still hanging over my head with no sign of a resolution after 18 weeks is causing untold stress, anxiety and sleep deprivation through worrying yet no one wants to take any responsibility. Very quick to demand answers and take money but not interested at all in helping customers and dealing with complaints despite the untruths listed on their website. Absolutely disgusted!! Complaint raised on 6th March with no final response only a confirmation(after checking they had got the complaint 9 weeks later). Amigo announced that they will be clearing the complaints back log by end of June with the assistance of the FCA. It would be good Customer service if this was confirmed to anyone with an active complaint??
My loan was settled on the 28th February 2020 and is currently still on all credit reports as active. I have emailed Amigo twice, who confirmed information will sent to confirm settlement on the 16th April. Well it's been nearly two months now and nothing. Why at nearly 4 months AFTER settling my account should the loan be incorrectly logged as active. This is incorrectly having a negative impact on my credit file showing high credit utilisation!! Please remove Updated 6th july 2020. This account STILL hasn't been updated on my credit file, it still shows as active
I have opened a complaint in February 2020 on behalf of 2 vulnerable adults who didn’t have the affordability means to pay the loan or the capacity to understand the implications of taking out this loan, due to an acute mental health illness. I have sent medical records etc, I have had very little response from Amigo Loans (the odd email saying due to COVID thing are taking longer than they should), 3.5 months later the issue is not resolved & they have failed to comply with my requests for info such as vulnerable persons policy, I also have requested a “Subject Access Request”, Amigo Loans should not be allowed to operate in this way, it is very distressing that they can continue & their operational methods are questionable to say the least, I am in touch with the Financial Ombudsman also, please BEWARE.
Really helped me get back on my feet! If you’re good with them they’ll be good to you! Customer Service excellent, everything well explained and understandable. If you’re a working man gaining a weekly/monthly wage the payouts are no hassle! Easy and affordable

I’ve been waiting for a response for my complaint raised since the 5th January 2020 . After the initial 8 weeks had passed I was told another 4 weeks ...... now 5 months in and still no final response it’s absolutely ludicrous. When my complaint is backed up with police and court evidence to confirm it was taken out fraudulently by the borrower . You are making me ill, I’ve filled out your health questions and provided a medical report !!! Complaint raised with the financial ombudsman as a result of the sheer ignorance, consideration and lack of any ‘customer’ care at all . I haven’t had an update regarding the complaint since the 16/3/2020 it’s just simply not ok. You’re messing with my health and life here ! I don’t want excuses I want answers and for you to reply to me and the financial ombudsman . How can it take 5 months when you are given 8 weeks ?
I've used a number of loan companies in the past and none have been as hassle-free, straightforward and efficient as Amigo. Their approach is due diligence but not at the expense of customer experience and both my guarantor and myself have been impressed at their level of contact and the thoroughness they apply. You feel safe in their hands. Having just reached the end of a loan, I've needed a top up to cover funeral costs of a family member that passed unexpectedly. The process was clear, the website very user friendly and their customer service was professional and polite (shout out to the the excellent Keira Alwin). To be able to do it without rigmarol or lots of effort was really helpful whilst dealing with other related matters. Throughout the duration of the existing loan, Amigo haven't cold called or pestered even once. You have a portal to track clearance, notifications to confirm payments and that's it. If you're paying as you should then it ticks along in the background with zero interference. Professional, customer-centric and supportive. I actively recommend them. Well done Amigo..
Been a customer for a while now and not missed a payment. Applied for a top up loan but now apparently it is not affordable even though this would not change my monthly payment amount which I am currently paying with no issues. Ridiculous!!!! Thanks for nothing What is even the point in a guarantor if you are going to reject paying customers anyways?
I made a complaint to them on 12th of May regarding the loans I took starting 7500 with hight interest and after 6 months I took a top up to breath a bit and I reach the amount of 10.000 with payback 23000 nearly and paid off early in 2019 with amount 10.200.. basically in 2 years I paid almost 20.000 !! Shark ..:I’m waiting the final respond from them due I ask all the interest be paid back to me plus 8% .the loan as been paid off.. all my bank statement are ready for the FOA if I’m not going to see any email from them with final response
Very slow and seems purposely so. I have had a few loans with Amigo over the last few years to build up my credit rating and always found them to be prompt and easy to deal with however no longer it seems. It took 2 full days for them to contact my guarantor despite this being a top up not a new loan. Also due to Covid they are only offering loans for 'emergencies' whatever that means. Also the payment of money into the account states 'up to 48 WORKING HOURS' which in reality gives them up to 6 full days from when it has allegedly been paid out. We all know that transfers take seconds and even in exceptional circumstances shouldn't take that long. So you need to have an emergency need for a loan but it not be urgent because you'll wait 3 days for a call and then however many days they deem necessary to actually send the money. Covid does not mean that you make things purposely difficult and abrasive as I have found the whole process this time around and in hindsight I should have just let my husband take out a loan with a lower rate as he wanted rather than try to share the cost. Not impressed.

Ombudsman requested information over 5 weeks ago with still no response, if Amigo can not even respond to them what chance has anyone got.. VERY POOR SERVICE. 5 WEEKS.....TO SEND A EMAIL......I will keep placing negative reviews on here until you respond to the Ombudsman. Poor, Poor, Poor.. And will do daily if I have too...
