They start harassing you and your guarantor ONE DAY after a payment is missed. Last month, I was entering in to a COVID-related financial problem and they completely ignored every email I sent them to try to come to a resolution and just continued with the threatening texts and harassing my elderly guarantor. This month, I entered the COVID hardship form, requesting a 2-3 month freeze of the account and they have not responded and the threatening texts coming as usual. I'm not even one of these anti-loan moral types, as I have dealt/am dealing with many of them and they've all always been reasonable, this lot however, are total vermin. Avoid at all costs.

Very disappointed with how my Account was handled a The start Of the covid situation. Been a customer for 4 years never missed a payment, phoned up quite a few times to see if there would be Any sort of grace period of reduced payments for a short time, suggested extending my repayment date etc, to be pretty much told if I don't make my payment it will be passed To my Guarantor as per contract. Under normal circumstances no problem but during a time of such uncertainty I was disappointed to say least. Amigo loans was the only one out of all my finincial commitments that did not work With me in any way. After reading some other reviews it would seem I'm not the only person this has happened too. Seems to me like everyone is loosing income apart from Amigo.

If i could give 0 stars i would! Do not entertain Amigo loans no matter how desparate you are,i am a guarantor for a friend who has always paid on time, his wife is a nurse & due to this coronavirus they both had to self isolate after sds showed symptoms, wat did Amigo loans do during this time, ask them how they were, cut them some slack,NO not at all even with the FCA instructing lenders to give payment holidays during these unprecedented times, they were straight onto myself as guarantor asking me to pay, even tho my income had dropped by following Government orders,Amigo lied & said they had tried to resolve with the loanee, even tho my friend Told me he’d phoned, emailed, sms’d them and had no luck fetting thru & no reply, lie aftet lie from Amigo now today i recieve a letter as did the loanee saying payment better be made by 12th of May or its going to court, this is WHat Amigo loans are really like dont believe there 5⭐️ Reviews put in by them or there employees,Avoid.

This is my second review of Amigo Loans & my impression of them has not got any better - I have put a complaint into them which they gave an 8 week deadline & what do you know another 4 weeks to wait !! They stated it was due to the recent events that it may take longer but it hasn't stopped their demands through text messages & email for payments or the threats to take me to court for payments (PS I Am the guarantor) I gave them an Income & expenditure of my incomings & outgoings and clearly stated I couldn't afford to pay them anymore and to talk to the person who took the loan out who can clearly pay but wishes not to do so. They are unsympathetic and I wish I had never became a guarantor for my friend.. Deal with this company at your own risk !!!!!!!

I DO NOT NEED YOUR GENERIC RESPONSE TELLING ME TO DO THINGS I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO DO. READ AND FOLLOW UP MY E-MAILS THAT ARE BELOW. For the attention of Jonathan Sims, David Sturgess, Ellen : Amigo Accounts Manager. As stated in an email sent to Amigo Loans on the 19th of March detailing the situation arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, things still remain uncertain at this point. I am due to start a position within the NHS as a key-worker for vulnerable individuals. Unfortunately, due to the outbreak, there is uncertainty as to how I will be starting. I will be initially put on the pay-role on the 11th of May, though I am not sure what income will be available to me. This pandemic has complicated my base of work due to face to face inductions needed before. I have much evidence to back up all that I say and how this Covid-19 has effected me. I have been extremely unsuccessful at reaching you by phone and I am unable to log onto my account due to what looks like the logging method being changed. Previously an e-mail address was needed. However, you are requesting a phone number to log in. I do not have a working number for this to be achieved. You had also stated in a email sent by Mr Sims on the 24th of March that I can not discuss my account over email. I find this unacceptable as the many years of me being a customer has been conducted by e-mail. This obviously has to happen as there is no other way of contacting you at present. Furthermore, I can see by Trip Adviser review site you are able to reply to reviews almost immediately, though not your phones when I have been instructed to do so. It was also stated that you will not be looking to extend any breathing space until I managed to contact yourselves. Again, I state that this has been a impossibility. So, in line with current FCA guidelines to help individuals set out in April, I am asking for a three month breathing space period until I know that I am able to fully able to resume payment of this loan. I will also be contacting the FCA for clarification on this situation and whether Amigo Loans are exempt from offering this kind of support during this difficult time. Once again, I must clarify that I am having to send an email asking for your support as I am unable to reach you any other way. Though I have struggled with this loan due to the high cost of interest, I have been a very good customer for many years. Many thanks for your patience at this very stressful time. Tim Lark. NO RESPONSE AS YET Again - For the attention of Jonathan Sims, David Sturgess, Ellen : Amigo Accounts Manager. Agreement number - 30403226 I am yet to receive a reply to my previous email. As usual you remain unreachable, despite your ability to answer the myriad of negative reviews on-line. I require you to address my questions and situation and I would like to have this registered as a complaint and followed up. I am also forced to register this with the FCA today as I feel you are conducting business unlawfully. I would also like further information sent to me regarding all loans I have had with you; in the past and recent. Please could you give me start dates, end dates of previous loans and all information with the current one, including breakdowns of payments and interest accrued. I am still unable to gain this information on you website as I am unable to log in. Lastly, can you please clarify what payment period you have taken from my guarantor on this day 28/04/2020 and why I have not been contacted before this was to happen. It would appear that as you know of my temporary situation, you are refusing to contact myself and are just taking the money form my guarantor with out said communication. Kind regards Tim Lark

I have had some really bad financial issues in the past few months, with my son being in hospital then the covid 19 outbreak and now my wife off as my son is part of the 1.5 million who need to self isolate so she is looking after him so shes off Sick currently. She is also my guarantor. They keep sending horrible texts and emails and letters. Everytime I call them they are not helpful like all if my creditors. I've emailed them no response. Try to call them and they dint answer or say lines are closed. They are a terrible company. The worst of the worst they dont wanna help anyone in this difficult period.

asked Amigo for support during these extremely difficult times, furloughed due to covid 19 pandemic, this is there unedited response:- I'm sorry to hear the recent outbreak has left you short this month. Payment holidays and account freezes are not something we are able to do, however as long as we have a good understanding of your situation and can feel confident that you are doing everything you can to make payments to us, we can consider offering some breathing space. Please be aware, if we are to offer flexibility, it would allow the account to remain in arrears. Due to this further monthly instalments could fall due, meaning that when your situation improves and you can go back to work, we would expect you to increase your original monthly payments to start clearing the arrears. Please go to our website, click on the link to take you to your online account, and press the button saying 'I have been impacted', this will take you through to an online form which we need you to complete to request some further time to get yourself back on your feet. Our team would then be in contacted within 14 days regarding the outcome. Please be aware, it is a request for further time, so there is no guarantee unfortunately. We would always try out best to work with you first, in order to prevent your guarantor from stepping in. However if we are concerned over your general affordability outside of the current situation, or are not confident we would be able to resolve the account if we did offer time, your guarantor could become liable. Thanks, Lauren @ Amigo I then received an email stating that they were obligated to notify the credit reference agency!! Amigo I know you are in the process of trying to sell your business however your business is losing value with every customer that you are losing due to your lack of customer service, empathy and understanding. My suggestion is that all Amigo customers take a stand and withhold any payments due, county court can deal with us after covid 19 passes, I'm sure the FCA and county court judges would agree that Amigo has yet again acted irresponsibly like they have done previously by giving loans to people who are desperate and cant afford the repayments.

Despicable in every respect. Very hard to believe the positive reviews are genuine. If someone is happy to be charged 49.9% APR interest I do feel sorry for them.

So 12 weeks following my complaint and as anticipated, no response from amigo....still not allocated, no idea when it will be and not responding to any emails. After the first 8 weeks I was told they needed 4 more weeks, I was promised a response within that timeframe and now they are saying they basically have no idea when they will reply. No contact from them to advise that there is a delay, the only reason I know they haven't even looked at it yet is because I have called (again). Oh and to top it off they can still send letters reminding me of the balance....yes amigo I know thanks, as a guarantor stuck paying this loan because you don't want to bother yourself with chasing the borrower, you have made sure I know already. Tried to speak with someone senior to be told there was no one else I could speak with.....so when advisors are rude, abrupt and show no customer service there is no one within the organisation to raise that with? Come on amigo, what a joke!

Amigo are ignoring attempts by customers to contact them, ignoring customers emails and ignoring proof supplied to them that a customers income has been affected by the Corona Virus Pandemic. They are harassing customers who are already experiencing extremely difficulty, stress and uncertainty about their health, their income and job security - IF they still have a job. This is against the FCA guidelines and as such people should be reporting them to the FCA AND FOS, I know I will be! THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BEHAVE IN THIS WAY!!! I can prove how many times I've contacted you, I can prove that my 'account manager' has received & eventually acknowledged receipt of proof of furlough & I&E & assures me she has arranged a call for that day. NO CALL! I then receive a Notice of Default and continued attempts to scare myself and guarantor into making payment. Again, this is not allowed, this is harassment!

Amigo loans are awful I’ve been with them for 4 years now, I’ve never missed a payment, I was working then had to self isolate due to the pandemic, I emailed them explaining my situation and my financial difficulties during this pandemic and asked if I could have a 1 month holiday on my loan, instead of emailing me back, they send me constant emails asking me loads of questions, I replied to every email. Still explaining my situation to be told I would have to pay 2 months loan before 24/4 which total is 380.00 pound, I’m currently on universal credit because of this pandemic and they are not understanding of my situation at all. Now to have an email saying they have defaulted me. I think this is disgusting the way they have treated me, considering the whole world is affected by this pandemic and I have never missed a payment before. I am a already finding this whole situation stressful as a single mother and not working at the moment, amigo have just added so much stress on top Of that. Would NOT recommend these to anybody.

I’m Ill with Covid19 I’ve been tested I’ve sent them the confirmation, explained the situation offered to make fortnightly payments. A reduced amount yes but still payment. First they keep sending reminders and finally respond asking me to call them. I can hardly talk due to pneumonia. So now they message saying they understand I need to fill out a form (one that I’ve not received) they’ll stop harassing me but will harass my guarantor instead. Really guys thanks so much for your support and help at this time. The majority of companies are giving payment holidays and really helping. Not amego they just want money don’t care for the situation or how much stress they cause.

I've made an appeal to amigo if they can be of help in any form within their capacity during this time of pandemic. As you all know, most employees working in restaurants are in four lough employment getting paid only 80% of their salary by the government. No assistance was given rather they continue on claiming interest over my loan!! Not a true amigo ( friend in English) and no community spirit.. Allthey care for is money..

Always putting pressure on you to pay when during a pandemic can’t earn any money are they thick ..... rather than work with you they would rather heap more pressure on you at an already stressful time
