If you don't reside in the US, don't waste your time with better.com - don't go through their entire process just because their advisors on the phone tell you that they can help you with a mortgage, because they really Don't trust what their advisors on the phone tell you and absolutely don't pay the appraisal until they tell you that they can do the mortgage.
The team at Better kept me well informed on the process associated with buying my home. they were really courteous, knowledgeable, available and helpful in the process. I will recommend them to friends and family.
I had an Excellent experience w/Better.com mortgage. My loan processor ‘Hillary Hall’ was fast to respond to any questions I had. I loved the easy ‘On-Line’ Application. I uploaded all the required documents. I got a confirmation that everything was received and under review by the loan underwriting department. I was told to check the online ‘status’ every day, which I did. They did have a few questions on some of the documents I submitted, so I had to provide additional documentation. A week or two later, I got a message from them telling that my ‘loan has been approved’, AND they were going to be able to close early! A few days later, a notary company called me to say they had all my mortgage loan documents, and were ready to meet with me at my convenience, so I could sign them & they could notarize them. I was expecting a lot more hassle. My mortgage application was started and closed in 25 days. Amazing. No problems at all.
Grace expediently got me on track for the loan that met my needs, making it easy to consolidate some higher interest debt while taking some cash out of my home's equity to help pay for my daughter's college tuition.
Process was easy, efficient, and the team was clear on next steps throughout. This is now my third mortgage/refinance done with Better and the process gets easier each time.

Very easy and convenient experience in refinancing our mortgage. Lance and his team were easily accessible and able and willing to answer questions and guide us through the hole process. We never had to leave our home. The appraisal was coordinated by Better and the closing was in our home - both at our convenience.

Nov 03,2022Customer service is terrible, my loan consultant didn't even try let alone respond to my emails. I was shopping rates and I was approved by various other lenders but the individual that I was working with provided no customer service and didn't even give an effort. I contacted customer service to see if I could be assigned a new team and they were virtually no help, they just said sorry and I understand your concern. Jesse Padgett was the loan consultant, and my experience was a 0 star. Not personable experience at all.
