My realtor was initially skeptical about using an online lender, but I'm pleased to say that my experience was exceptional! It was so easy to manage my tasks online and it really helped to keep everything on track. I would recommend this type of lender to anyone who is computer savvy, and I would definitely use Better.Com again.

Better.com was conveniently easy to use and follow. Troy, our home advisor was on top of everything! We had a very tight time line on our refi and we got it done thanks to the combined experience at better.com. Thank you guys

I was shopping around and Tyler was very helpful and competitive and got me a good closing cost. At no point was he rude or pushy, unlike some of the other characters that I came across. The better portal is very simple and easy, so it's easy to keep on top of the process.

Better Mortgage was the easiest loan I have ever applied for, even easier than loans through my credit union. Immediate answers to all my questions, honest options provided, never felt pressured and in the end we're saving thousands.

This was the easiest closing I’ve been involved with. From start to finish there was communication every step of the way. Andres Mejia was always available to answer questions. There is literally nothing that could have been improved.

I was so impressed with the team and appreciated everyone that helped me get to a successful closing team! Someone was always available to address my questions and concerns and flexible to use different forms of communication (calls, texts, emails). All requested documents are accompanied with explanations plain English with full disclosures upfront of what happens next. So happy to work with the Better team especially as a first-time home buyer!

The sole positive note in refinancing my current mortgage through Better.com was the ability to accomplish this primarily electronically. However, this did not result in a streamlined experience, nor more timely refinancing. Information is apparently distributed through multiple departments which fail to communicate, requiring multiple interventions on my part. More significantly, the scheduled closing date was delayed without notification. Finally, transfer of servicing remains a bit of a mess.

Don't let recent scandals with the CEO cause you to judge this company, process or people. I almost did out of sheer principle. I am VERY happy I didn't. This company is the PERFECT blend of tech, process, and outstanding PEOPLE, to turn a confusing, convoluted process like mortgage finance into a simple, painless process. Sure the tech is cool and does help, but it is the knowledge, professionalism, and genuine caring of the PEOPLE that differentiate this company from every other in this market space. I will choose no other moving forward.

I would like to express my concerns about the recent experience I had with Better Mortgage. I have used Better Mortgage now for two transactions, a refinancing of my current home and a purchase of a new construction home. The refinance was an incredibly easy and smooth experience and left me thinking how easy the online portal for Better Mortgage was to use. There was great communication throughout. As a result, I decided to go with Better Mortgage for a new construction home. I had already received a pre approval letter from the builders finance company but considered Better Mortgage based on my last experience. This to me now was a mistake. The experience was mostly disappointing. I want to first off commend Johnathon and Cole for their outstanding efforts and incredible communication throughout the process. They were the best part of the experience. Johnathon was always available to me and his communication via text and telephone was professional and decisive. My complaints stem mostly with my experience with Annika and the cost of my loan. My interactions with Annika were informative and friendly. The problem stems from the fact that they were inconsistent and that she was practically impossible to reach at times where I really needed to speak or text with her. On the day before my loan closing, I had some concerns with the sudden change in closing costs and added fees to the loan. We spend time going over this and she promised me she would look into it and let me know in the morning before closing. When I didn’t hear from her, I called Better Mortgage and was told she was off work that day I was told to speak to Johnathon. A simple communication would have saved me time and effort in trying to reach out to her regarding a discrepancy on my loan. Johnathon was great but he did not have any information on the previous evenings conversation with Annika and was put in a very precarious position. I can only presume that Annika’s actions are based on any or all of the following: that she is overworked, unorganized, not committed to a customer-oriented approach to her trade or simply unable to perform the most important part of this position which in my opinion is being available to the client and answering questions during a stressful period for most clients. The other major issue I had with this experience is the loan itself. My initial loan disclosure as well as ALL subsequent loan disclosures had several credits outlined on them. One of these credits was for over $4000.00. This brought my cash to close to about 10k. The day before I was closing this credit was removed and I was told that the builder refused to provide this credit. Why was this not researched prior to this? The process had been going on for several months and yet the team that was working on my loan researched every aspect of the loan and my qualification for the loan. And yet they were unable to confirm this credit with the builder. This to me seemed like a bait and switch tactic to make this loan appear more desirable than it really was. The day of closing I had many questions about the loan that Annika had committed to answer and she was unavailable. Johnathon was unable to answer to no fault of his own. I don’t need to go on about how I won’t be referring Better mortgage to other people and so on as we all know how social media and community recommendations are a valuable tool and selecting services. However, I would like some acknowledgment and or compensation from Better Mortgage to make things right. I should never have been put in that position. Buying a new home is supposed to be a positive experience, especially if it’s the first time. My experience was completely tarnished as I had to scramble to find five thousand extra dollars the day of closing. I look forward to hearing from you regarding this disappointing experience. Working with the company was a breeze and because it was mostly online you had a clear trail and idea of what to do, when and what to provide. The process of buying a home is daunting enough for first time hoke buyers like myself, but Better made the process manageable with people who were responsive and directions that were clear.

Emma Irwin and Paul Kim were a terrific team for us. They kept things moving and turned around things within a good time. I appreciate their help in navigating us to the finish line. However, I will recommend this: What I liked most with Better is the ability to review rates and closing estimates without an intermediary. However, during the closing process, tasks were bounced back to me with very little instruction. It was not clear as to WHY a task / documentation wasn't accepted. And I was not able to talk to the loan underwriter. Reading the same error message over and over is COMPLETELY USELESS and FRUSTRATING. The other variable I would change is I would've preferred to have a team that was either on CST or EST. That would've aligned better for us.

Rolando was so amazing. He always answered my phone calls. I feel like I was kind of a pain. But he never made me feel like it and answered every single one of my questions. I will never use another lender again. Rolando or die!

The team at Better Mortgage went above and beyond to save this mortgage by reaching out to my HELOC company and getting them to renegotiate the subordination agreement. Then they kept working and saved me more money at closing. Superlative would be a good word to describe them.

Our experience was great! Everyone was knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and the process was so fast! We got a great rate refinancing down to a 15 year fixed and even got some money back!
