Aug 02,2023We stayed at a beautiful property in the Cotswolds. All the information and instructions we received were excellent and very helpful. The property was fabulous. It was clean and well equipped with a lovely welcome pack. Kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped we felt very at home.

Aug 01,2023We verbleven een week in Wynyard Mill in Malmesbury. Het huis ligt prachtig op en naast de beekjes en ligt naast de actieve Bowles club. Een heel fijn, ruim huis dat voorzien is van alles dat je nodig hebt, een fijne uitvalsbasis voor wandelingen en bezoek aan alle mooie toeristische attracties in de Cotswolds.

Aug 01,2023Another great stay with Bolthole Retreats. We staying at Rowan House in Ebrington in the Cotswolds. A lovely property in a quiet area overlooking farm land. Property was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. There’s a lovely pub a few minutes walk and Chipping Campden, Bourton-on-the-Water and other villages are within easy reach. Garden was great for the dogs and the outdoor furniture was made use of in the dry weather.

Jul 31,2023Candlemaker's Cottage at Marshfield is a treat. The property is tasteful, spacious, impeccable and quaint all at the same time. Every detail is perfectly suited to make a stay at the cottage comfortable and cosy. We were simply delighted by the interior, felt immediately welcome on account of a copious hamper and the pleasant warmth exuded by the AGA. Sadly - this being the summer holidays - the cheer of the warm kitchen with it's rustic table, bench and chairs was our more regular start and finish to the day than the gorgeous and inviting garden, which is really picturesque and splendidly equipped. The rain, however, is not the cottage's fault, and it's surroundings, rich with wonderful sites and scenery were glorious to explore nonetheless. And on returning the snug rooms, the excellent beds and the whole atmosphere inside made ample amends for what the frequent showers deprived us of out of doors. What more could possibly be said of a house? It's a treat!

Jul 29,2023My family and I had a wonderful stay at Merchant House. It is right in the middle of Charlbury, walking distance to everything (pubs, shops, church, community centre, train station). The house and garden are very spacious with all modern appliances and conveniences. A hidden gem in the middle of the Cotswolds! Both Bolthole and the owner sent clear and detailed information ahead of time and were very responsive during our stay. Highly recommended!

Jul 29,2023Such a great house, a warm welcome by the owner itself, everything nicley done and with so many lovely details. Everything was very clean, we had wonderful bed linen and slept great. The kitchen was perfectly prepared and it was easy to find everything you might need. It was a great short-stay and we would always come back!

Jul 27,2023This was a quirky little accommodation at Ragley Hall. The accommodation was compact with really nice bed linen, large fluffy bath sheets, soft pillows and comfortable bed. A nice wood fired hot tub. A very clean and well equipped kitchen. A quite small dining area. The main drawback was traffic noise from the main road that in fairness was quieter at night and didn't detract from a really good night's sleep. A cattle grid's noise in the estate was equally irritating. Nice nearby villages and dining out options. It would have been nice to have been able to see a little bit of the grounds while respecting privacy. We almost certainly consider returning.

Jul 27,2023With a large family gathering we were looking for a property sleeping 15 people...The Hunting Lodge on the Ragley Estate was perfect. Booking was straight forward and confirmation sent quickly. We all gathered and were delighted with the house which was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The Hot Tub was a great success and the very large garden perfect for a family cricket match. The beds were all exceptionally comfortable and the showers efficient. our 4 night stay for a 'big' birthday celebration proved all we had hoped for ...... only a couple of small points, for such a large property may be a few more board games for rainy days? (we managed to win some at the garden fete at Coughton Court which was useful) We almost ran out of toilet rolls so a few more would have been helpful. But we all enjoyed the bottle of buddly and delicious sponge cake on arrival and we came away a very happy group.

Jul 26,2023Stayed in the beautiful lakeside house, which was spotless on arrival. Really lovely house with lovely bedding and towels and extra handy touches like all the tea, coffee & sugar you might need, well stocked Kitchen implements , salt, pepper, dishcloths, cleaning products, extra loo rolls all made this a great stay. A lovely garden which the children and our dog could roam and play in while we relaxed. Gorgeous and we’d love to return!

Jul 26,2023Crofter’s Barn is a comfortable cottage, well furnished and welcoming with a sweet garden, ideal for enjoying the long summer days. A comfortable bed and kitchen supplied with ample pans and implements make staying at the cottage very pleasant. Added to this is a lovely Cotswold pub across the road, offering good food and lovely views. We will certainly return soon to continue exploring the countryside.

Jul 25,2023Bolthole was very efficient in setting up the booking.The house was absolutely lovely and spotlessly clean on our arrival. The owner was easy to contact and extremely helpful with last minute queries. The dining table is quite stunning. The location proved very successful given we had 6 small children with us and we easily found activities to do in the area when it was raining (soft play and Wetlands). A few minor tweaks would have made it perfect and we have given feedback on these (such as doors which did not quite close and missing a grater and carving utensils.

Jul 25,2023My family and I stayed at Corn Close in the Cotswolds and had a fantastic stay. The house was easy to find and exactly as described. We loved the large and well maintained garden (the property has a wide selection of garden games). Our children had loads of space to explore and play. The light and airy kitchen had plenty of space for all 5 of use to sit down and eat with lovely views out to the garden and countryside beyond. The location is great with plenty of activities for days out not far away. We would have no hesitation in returning in the future.

Jul 23,2023We spent 4 wonderful days at Popular House. It is a stunning property with everything you need. It was very comfortable and had all the amenities you need. We visited the Ebrington Arms one evening and had a fantastic meal. The local area is beautiful and if you fancy a break to the countryside then this is a great location.

Jul 22,2023Bill’s Cottage is perfectly situated to explore the Cotswolds but have a peaceful and charming place to return home. There are ample footpaths to explore right from Bill’s and amenities such as grocery stores are close by. The cottage itself is well maintained and outfitted (heated floors in the main level!). Mary the host was extremely helpful and kind.

Jul 20,2023Booked Leonard Stanley House for a milestone birthday weekend. The booking process was easy, and the Bolthole team was prompt and helpful in answering our questions. The property was as good as -if not better than - what was shown on the pictures. The landlady was very friendly and helpful. The property was clean and nicely furnished; everything - kitchen, bathrooms, wifi, heating, etc - functioned. All the guests were blown away by its spaciousness and its comfort. The large dining tables - one indoor and one outdoor - made it possible to all eat together whatever the weather, which was brilliant. The proximity of the Stonehouse station (20 min walk) with direct train connections with London turned out to be a major asset. The possibility to start walks straight from the property was enjoyed by many. We felt very lucky to have rented this property for this birthday celebration!
