May 28,2013I wanted to shop with born as I like to support independent retailers. However I found my goods online for a cheaper price and available for next day delivery. I informed the staff at born and was very pleased to hear they could price match! However, they needed to check with the boss and call me to confirm. I waited several days and heard nothing back- so chased it up- but they still didn't have an answer. After a wk I chased again and still with no answer- I expressed my urgency. I thought they'd be keen to get my custom for an expensive item- I could have easily just bought it online. They eventually came back to me- in which time I'd found an even better deal online! So they went away again to match. The whole time there felt like a lack of urgency and interest. However I was impressed that they were able to price match. The final piece of confusion came when one member of staff told me they offered interest free credit. If I bought online I could get the goods the next day, but I'd have to pay up front. Born couldn't guarantee a delivery day- but instead offered interest free credit- so I went with this. I paid 10% deposit over the phone and placed my order. I was told I'd get an email receipt- but didn't. A week later- I'd still heard nothing. I called and I was told my order hadn't been placed as they were waiting for me to pay the rest if the money!! I explained about the interest free credit- and the manager informed me they didn't offer this!! The whole process was beginning to feel like the left hand didn't have a clue what the right hand was doing! My order had still not been placed- and yet I was out of pocket 10%! Plus several phone calls! At this point I expressed my annoyance and suggested going back to shopping online. I was referred to customer services and eventually the order was sorted, with various emails back and forth. What was sad- is I felt that I needed to get angry before there was any kind of urgency or efficiency in the service. When I did get my order there was a box of organic chocolates and a free baby muslin included- which I much appreciated as an apology. Unfortunately I now have a problem with one of the items- the car seat is faulty! This is a manufacturing issue - but still rather unfortunate in the whole proceedings! I would have liked them to offer to replace the item- but instead I have been given the display model for a week, whilst they fix my faulty one. A new replacement would have been much more satisfactory really. Such a lovely shop, with lovely things- shame I had a rather disappointing experience.

May 28,2013We've ordered a replacement mattrss for the Stokke Sleepi Junior, and received it sooner than the advertised 4-6 weeks, which was great. I only wish Stokke had an extension for this gorgeous bed for teenage!!!!

May 26,2013I would really recommend Born to anyone. They have really gorgeous non-placticky toys, and my little one really loves playing with them - they're not just there to make mummies feel better! The clothes that I have bought have been well-fitting and comfy, while still looking lovely. They also have some unusual things so not everyone will be wearing them. I have also bought some items that have been invaluable - for instance the travel high-chair by Phil and Ted. It was so amazingly useful on holiday, and as it is so light we could take it on the flight without any problems. The website is easy to navigate, and the products I ordered arrived very quickly, and with lovely handwritten cards from the staff with discounts for future purchases. Highly recommend!

May 15,2013Ordered a bugaboo brake cable, which unfortunately ended up being faulty. Customer service to the rescue! The lovely lady in the bristol branch not only got in touch with bugaboo to send us a free replacement, but was friendly as can be. It was my first time using born direct, and the first impressions are excellent. I'd advise anyone to use this company if they are looking for good products, competitive prices and outstanding customer service.

May 03,2013It wasn't busy at all when I came in and I was offered help straight away. The sales associate was helpful and went to check if she had any back stock of what I was looking for. She then arranged for it to be ordered ( as hey didnt have it in store) and sent to my home address. The delivery took a while, accompanied with some confusing emails (seemingly automAted), but we got our nappies yesterday and can't wait to start using them on my lil' one.

In spite of a notice explaining that it would be dispatched within 1 to 3 days, it was dispatched the day after the order and delivered on day 2. The whole buying process was highly professional but gave the impression of a very friendly family oriented company that valued their customers. Very well done Born Direct.
