Company apparently taken over and the order ready to dispatch has not been delivered, I’ve been told I will not receive it. I believe this is not legal and am looking into taking legal advice.
If I could give no stars I would.. I ordered two beds on 23rd February.. have been emailed several times to say the beds were with the courier... and then an email on 4th April to say they had gone into receivership and I would not be receiving my beds or a refund!!! The delivery company said they would not be delivering for this company whether they had the beds or not.. when I spoke to British Beds Direct they confirmed that they are now owned by another company and they would not be fulfilling previous orders... what a mess... now I have to try and get my money back from my bank... disgusting way to treat customers..
Great product , however , manufactured and delivered late ( no fault with courier) and lack of communication from BB made for a more stressful experience than necessary .
I made an order with British Beds Direct and they informed me that my order will not be fulfilled as Serene Beds and Furniture Limited went into administration! They said Serene Sleep Group Limited have now purchased British Beds Direct and that they have nothing to do with Serene Beds and Furniture Limited!!! Nothing about it on their websites so i guess they are still taking orders. AVOID this company!!!! We regret to inform you that Serene Beds & Furniture Limited, has gone into Administration on 31st March 2023, and as a result are not be able to fulfil your order. We understand how frustrating and disappointing this news is, and we want to extend our sincerest apologies to you for any inconvenience this may cause. We would like to assure you that we have purchased the business from the Administrators and have no association with the previous company. However, we are not able to honour any orders placed with British Beds Direct prior to our acquisition of the business. We advise you to contact your Bank and request a Chargeback or Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act to recover any funds paid for the order. This is a legal protection that allows you to request a refund for services or goods that you did not receive due to the insolvency of the seller. We understand that this news may be upsetting, and we want to offer our sincerest apologies once again. We hope that you can recover any funds lost and continue to shop with us in the future. UPDATE AUG 2023 The AUDACITY - Has anyone else experienced British Beds Direct attempted to get Trustpilot to ask for their review to be changed? I did several times over the past few days. The last message told me that if I did not provide, my personal details (phone number, email address etc), then my review could be taken down. WHY are you British Beds Direct, hassling me to change my review. How dare you! I didn't even get chance to mention, while writing my very long original review, how bad the quality of your beds are, let alone your dodgy dealings. Both my original set of beds and my replacement set. I even ended up cutting myself because of your jaggedy trims & terrible quality finishing after submitting my original review. My review was honest, accurate and as succinct as I could make it. I could have mentioned other issues I'd had, but decided just to mention the main points that would be helpful to others - be thankful tor that and do not attempt to get me to change my review again. So disingenuous! ORIGINAL REVIEW I have just received an email to state they have gone into Administration? Yet their website is still fully functioning, I assume taking and completing orders and in fact has discount enticingly advertised on their items. It's not 100% clear whether it's Serene Sleep Group Limited or British Beds Direct that are in trouble - though that might be me misreading the email. After a ridiculous experience with them where I am awaiting my third set of replacement beds OR a refund I don't need to say I would not recommend them as a company EVER! Watch out for any affiliated companies or person who might pop up opening a similar business in the future. AVOID!! If I could give zero stars, I would. They couldn't even be bothered to change the name significantly. Sounds like a group of associates, friends, family members playing a game of hot potato with all their businesses to me. I'll reiterate - well dodge (big clue in the last word right here)! I'm sure these kind of business owners think we the public are dense.
Order placed 24th March 2023 and was with courier Epic Logistics for delivery. Email 3rd April 2023 advises that Serene Beds and Furniture Ltd has gone into Administration and has been acquired by Serene Sleep Group Ltd (allegedly no affiliation ?!). They obviously did not buy the goodwill to preserve the Trustpilot ratings and treat British Beds Direct customers fairly. My order was collected back from courier and I was told to order would not be fulfilled. Absolute disgrace. Same bespoke product still can still be ordered at the same price on website.
I ordered a bedframe with headboard on 14 Mar and then got an email saying it has been dispatched last week on 30 Mar. Today when following with delivery company, i was told British Beds has gone into administration and my bed was collected by the administrator. No one answeringat British Beds.
Customer service says a lot about a business and I was so impressed with this company. Firstly they were happy to delay delivery to match in with my completion date on a new house, and secondly they dealt with an issue with a headboard so quickly and without any fuss. Headboard had been damaged in transit and within an hour of me emailing with a couple of photos they responded apologising and reassured me that they would make a replacement and send it out as quickly as they could. This only took about a week to arrive and they'd arranged for the damaged headboard to be collected too. Very happy with the bed and headboard we've received and the price was great. The delivery company were spot on with communication and the lads were helpful and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to order again should I ever need another bed.
I ordered an Ottoman bed from this rubbish company. This company is dishonest .I was misled in that the bed contrary to what was shown on the picture came in two pieces which diminishes the strength of the top part. On top of this when the mattress is on the bed and you try to lift the top bit up to access storage the top bit does not stay up!! So you the purpose of having an ottoman bed is missed. Indeed had I seen on the picture displayed on the website that this was not a proper /quality Ottoman bed, I would not have ordered it. I returned the bed on the basis of misrepresentation and this company took £75 restocking fee. I told them that this was unlawful as I could not be charged a re stocking fee for a bed which was not fit for purpose and for which deception tactics were used to sell it to me. The restocking fee might apply for example if I no longer wanted the bed because I no longer wanted it. This company refused to give me my money back. So my total loss is 75 plus £30 delivery fee for a bed that I would not have ordered in the first place. Stay away from them!
Beds are great but took a lot longer to arrive than the website leads you to believe. Took a month in total and not the 2 weeks you think it's going to take Easy to assemble although instructions could be clearer.
Clear honest information about time scale and how delivery would happen. Great delivery guys who were very helpful. The packing was very secure to prevent any damage. When I had a question regarding suitability of chosen bed base and headboard I received a very prompt reply. I am delighted with my new bed and headboard they are exactly as described the colours are true and the quality fantastic. I would recommend to my family and friends and would use again.
This company provides a very efficient and comprehensive service. The range of products is very adequate and the quality is good too. Delivery was reliable and helpful. This is the second time I have bought beds from them and I am very satisfied with what I bought.
We are very happy with our two divan bases ordered from British Beds Direct. The delivery date was as expected and the product was of a good quality
Very good service, staff very helpful, had to chase order several times as went beyond stated order time. Bed seems good quality for money, but not used yet. Staff sent replacement fitting very quickly when advised 2 wooden blocks missing, received next day.
It’s a fantastic well made king Size Bed with loads of storage :)
Sadly I have no choice but to leave a poor review as I am still waiting for my order placed 19 working days ago to even start being manufactured. There has been little communication, and only as a result of me chasing. I understand that fabric can be out of stock but it shouldn’t take 19 working days after my order was accepted to tell me there was a problem. The company are sitting on over £1650 of my money and it is really frustrating trying to get any answers or action. Strongly suggest you do not order from this company without checking they can actual fulfil your order in the time you need. UPDATE: we never received our order - we received a dispatch notice on March 29th but the logistics company confirmed that they would not deliver our goods as they had not been paid. We then received an email on March 30th 2023 informing us that British Beds Direct had gone into receivership and we would not receive our order that we had paid for. My credit card company refunded us.
The company have a great range of fabrics and storage options, which is why I ordered from them. Ordering was simple and delivery went very well. One niggle - the headboard I chose had 2 lines of button across it, but once the bed is made and pillows are on the bed, the lower line of buttons is completely hidden, so you're left with one odd looking line of buttons. Not the best design idea!

Apr 12,2023I bought it on the 12th of March, got an email saying they would deliver in 7 to 14 days on the 29th of March, and today 12th of May got an email saying they will NOT deliver the bed and asked to contact the bank. Don't buy from this company.
