Swatches were delivered in record time and we are so pleased with our 4 drawer divan bed and headboard.The colour (Eau de Nil) is perfect for our bedroom and the quality is top notch. Our order was completed within the ten days and shipped immediately then delivered to our first floor room.

Aug 04,2021I ordered two beds but the delivery company have a very poor service. I called British Beds and they were onto the problem immediately. They collected and replaced the one bed which was damaged due to delivery & I really couldn’t fault the beds or the service. They told me they no longer use the delivery company involved. I would definitely use this company again.

Aug 03,2021NO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. After experiencing several faults with my side opening ottoman, reporting a fault with the headboard, requesting the instructions to attach the divan base, requesting the correct screws to attach the base (!), I have had the most disgusting experience with the British Beds Direct's management team and lost all confidence in this business. Long story short, the side lift ottoman bed I researched for weeks and finally purchased will not connect - the two parts do not align and screwing them together is impossible. I had to request additional screws when we were not sent the ones we required. No instructions were sent for connecting the divan base of the bed and the headboard instructions were unclear. We were sent 4 wooden blocks, presumably to space the headboard from the base so the ottoman would open/close, but received no instructions of how to install them, so had to assume. Finally, once the headboard was on, we realised that the spacers mean the top of the headboard bends backwards when ANY pressure is put on it... meaning you can't sit up in bed against the headboard without risking the struts snapping. I'm appalled that such a poorly designed item was sold to me and I'm angry that their customer service has simply ignored my emails detailing the faults and asking for a resolution. Ideally, I'd like the useless strutted headboard collected and the floor-standing headboard sent out at no extra charge since the strutted one is NOT fit for purpose and has a clear design fault, despite my detailed research. Update: after back and forth with this company for nearly a week, Taz, the director here, dodging my emails and refusing to reply to my emails - I am now reporting the company to trading standards. If you purchase a side ottoman bed and attach a headboard, please be aware that the headboard will bend backwards and wobble, so you can't sit against it!! When pointing this out, the company will tell you that is industry standard and refuse to provide the necessary additional component they KNOW is needed to rectify the problem. The only good thing I can say is that their customer services rep Faisal is great, and really tried his best to help me find a solution. Shame his managers have the biggest attitude problem and leave the office at 4pm! Update: British Beds Direct's response below actually includes several lies... They claim that they've now resolved the issue with the divan not joining. I am yet to receive the relevant screws to fix the issue.... (and it's the third time I have asked for help to fix this fault) They further claim that I was informed a floor standing headboard would be what was needed - this is absolutely false and I have the various emails to prove it! Good luck claiming defamation... everything I've stated here is the truth. Buy at your own risk. After choosing them specifically to support a small business during difficult times, I simply cannot recommend them and want other customers to know that the design of the side ottoman is appalling.

Jul 19,2021I recently bought the Serene Ortho Pocket 2000 king mattress from British Beds Direct. I have had a couple of excellent nights on it. The mattress is very firm, which is what I was looking for. It does not lose shape with my weight. The reflex foam on top adjusts to my body for great comfort. I would definitely recommend this mattress. The best I have ever had.

Jul 06,2021We ordered a memory foam mattress online from British Beds Direct recently and it is just wow. I am so impressed with the quality of the mattress and the luxurious feel. We couldn't find what we were looking for from the stores of a couple of other well known retailers. But I called BBD and their staff were so helpful in finding me the right mattress. They had more choices available than the other retailers. The mattress also arrived sooner than we expected. All in all 10/10.

Jun 16,2021After months of bed research, we decided to support a family business rather than one of the big chains. The bed was slightly more expensive than going with a bigger brand but we thought, let's do our bit to support locals. Jhhzzz! What a performance! Firstly, the company British Beds' use for their courier service is absolutely shocking, and I really wonder why they choose to continue working with them. Cost maybe? The couriers' policy states they will let you know when they are 30-60 mins away, however that never happened for us. No text, no phone call, no voicemail, no email, nothing. So the delivery needed to be rescheduled as we missed it somehow?! Which meant sleeping on the floor for 5 nights, whilst being heavily pregnant. However, British Beds were very apologetic on their behalf and obviously, this is slightly out of their control. When the bed finally arrived, the headboard wasn't what I ordered and there were cut marks down the side of one sideboard, as well as a big dirty black mark. Not impressed! Once again, we contacted British Beds' who were again very apologetic and said a new headboard would be made the next day and shipped with a new sideboard. There was some delay with this also. I appreciate things go wrong sometimes, but how on earth deliveries, wrong headboards, cuts, black marks, etc get past quality control is beyond me?! The only reason this review isn't less than 3 stars is that the response from British Beds was always relatively pain-free, quick, and attentive. They sounded sincerely apologetic for the mistakes and tried to rectify them as soon as they could. Which we really appreciated. However, one plus - The bed is gorgeous now we have the correct one, I love it!

May 20,2021Purchased a low divan to go on top of a wooden slat bed in order to raise the height - easier get in / out. Wanted to fly the flag and buy British. Found BBD as they are a local manufacturer and website was good for accurate dimensions. Notified by text of delivery and arrived on time. Perfect job - well done BBD.

May 05,2021Great delivery service, looks like good quality bed. Time will tell. There was a little fabric that had been worn away on the inner corner of the divan ottoman but it was the headboard side so we have just made do with it but a little disappointing to see which is why it’s not 5-stars.
