Unfortunately, my experience with Chess has been extremely disappointing. They consistently fail to deliver on their promises, and it has become very frustrating. If you're considering working with them, be aware that once you're locked in, it can be difficult to leave. They sent us substandard equipment with poor Wi-Fi coverage, even in the same room as the router. The connection frequently drops, causing huge delays in simple tasks like printing invoices or scanning documents. We were promised a proper solution but instead were told everything was fine and then asked to pay for an unnecessary upgrade. Additionally, we’ve been overcharged, even after our original contract ended. Instead of the agreed-upon £150 per month, we’ve been charged nearly £300—double what was promised. Getting clarity or support from them is near impossible, and their billing practices have been frustratingly unclear and unfair. Even the phone system setup was not as agreed. They installed a single line instead of the multi-line system we were promised, and key features like call hold and voicemail were either missing or incorrectly configured. Despite repeated requests for help, these issues remain unresolved. My advice: tread carefully. They frequently avoid fulfilling their commitments and make it very hard to resolve issues, leaving you stuck with poor service and unexpected charges.

I work for a charity and was having mobile network problems. Chess provide our landlines, so I asked for help with the mobile side of things. Sarah Lydon was an absolute star in sorting out a new network at a good price. Sarah has given updates and follow ups throughout, making the experience easy and worry free. Think must be BT's favourite company because Chess must be the only ITC organisation that makes them look good !!! Don't go anywhere near them Currently on 3 days still not get to connect to someone to do a 2 minute DNS job Follow on: To be fair they eventually made contact i think in response to this post and got the basic requirement done in minutes as I stated would be the case, so would guess is a resource and workflow issue rather than a capability one
Helpful and sorted the problem
“If I could give negative stars, I would. This company is absolutely awful, full of deception. They made an agreement with my partner, which I was present for and witnessed, but after she signed a new contract, they retained her previous one, meaning she’s now paying for two contracts—something that was never agreed upon. She only signed the new contract based on what was discussed and promised. Despite repeated requests, they refuse to send us the call recordings, which speaks volumes. If they were in the right, they’d have no problem providing them, but they know they’re wrong. We were told multiple times that the old contract would be canceled and replaced by the new one. Now, she’s stuck in a five-year contract with an enormous payout. We’ve spent months trying to resolve this, and they’ve been unhelpful at every turn. Their service is atrocious, they are ridiculously overpriced, and they lack basic customer care. My partner is a new business owner struggling to get by, but they simply don’t care. I strongly advise against doing business with them—you will regret it.” I have asked many times to send me the recording of what was agreed but they never can. Sorella spa. The recording have all the conversations that was agreed by CHESS. I have emailed multiple times, I have called multiple times, I have been passed around multiple times and they always tell me we can send our recordings. (Why) because they’re in the wrong. I have also told them if it was never agreed over the phone (multiple times may I add) then we would drop it but it was agreed, it was confirmed, just send all the calls over it’s not difficult, if you agreed something then you should honor it simple. Instead Chess have conned my partner. We are in the process of taking this further and we won’t let it rest, I’ve never left a negative review before anywhere, but I feel so strongly on this that I have left a review and I won’t let it rest, it’s unfair and wrong on every level. Chess agreed something and if they shouldn’t have agreed it then they need to take it up with the 2 people that agreed it and honor what was agreed. Jack Perry and a Richard was the two people I dealt with who agreed it.
Big thanks to a couple of the project leads helping us recently with new phone systems and lease lines. Particularly to Kelly who has been amazingly responsive and helped build out everything we needed for a comprehensive solution on our mobile contracts.

Kelly Stockdale @ Chess is awesome. She has supported and communicated throughout the whole process of moving our previous mobile account across to Chess Telecoms and it has been very easy once we knew what was going to happen. With a fair bit of preparation and meetings, it was very clear it was going to be more than worth it in the end. We had recently moved 59 mobile accounts to Chess and to a new network. Vienna managed the whole thing, procured us significant savings on the previous contract, and really made it so simple. Came the porting day, (and as an IT manager for several decades), this was by far the smoothest mobile account migration I have seen! Such a relief to have Chess (and Vienna) as a supplier.
