Jan 08,2020I bought a GD820 kit. Before gluing I didn't noticed that neck yaws and do not allineate in a sound way with body. Now strings and neck go different paths (about 1,5 mm error at neck end) Tuning is almost impossible. Moreover terrible EMI despite accurate grounding of the circuitry. I'll trash the thing... Very sad. For the future I suggest Coban to check carefully the shape of the single wood pieces of guitars in order to assure prefect (and no loose) fitting. Electrical stuff can be easily changed and customized, Wood cannot. Quality of the product: 1 star Otherwise I suggest customers buying such products to contact the Coban help desk as soon as possible to get any explanation or warning about issues assembling the guitars. Answers are fast, clear and polite. This could overcome poor instructions included in the guitar packaging and almost no specific tutorials. This doesn't prevent from unexpected errors due to the lack of experience of the customer coupled with excessive trusting in the product quality Quality of the support: 5 star Total rating: 2 stars (Would be better 5 stars product quality and 1 star customer assistance)

Dec 31,2019My wife got me a LP kit for Christmas and I'm not impressed the body has a split in the back which has been seen and had some glue or sealer dabbed on it, also the binding is very poorly fitted meaning I will have to paint the back in a solid colour to hid the repairs.

Dec 16,2019L.P. Style diy guitar kit, arched top, bolt -on neck, no soldering, flame maple veneer top. Parcel arrived in good time. Excellent customer service from Coban Guitars. On unboxing all necessary parts are present, and nicely presented in the box. Pleased to see a spare offcut of veneer provided, which will be useful for testing techniques for staining the veneer top. The flame maple veneer top is very good-looking. The black wood of the fretboard seems potentially very durable. I hope to be able to give a further good review after I start building the guitar in January.

Dec 03,2019I have finished the guitar and I'm really, really pleased with it, the neck sits perfectly in the body and it really plays well, the only one point I wasnt happy with was the sanded finish on the body of the guitar could've done with sanding to a higher standard but I sorted that.

Nov 30,2019Incredibly good value for money, the Electro Acoustic Classical comes with lead, strap, picks, battery and Allen key in case you need to adjust the neck. It is well-made, well-finished and well set-up. Very playable straight out of the box. Good tone both acoustically and through the pick-ups. Very impressive.

I'm currently building two of the kit guitars and they are the best I've built yet, with quality wood delivered to a high standard of fit and finish and they finish like a dream. Delivery is super quick and Mark is a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.

Nov 20,2019I have been dealing with Coban Guitars for two years through their supplier, namely UK Music Supplies. Their customer service is excellent and their products, in my case, have been two Kit Build guitars, the quality of which have been very good indeed resulting in my successful completion of both kits. The building of these two kits can be viewed on YouTube (Dave's First Build - a PRS style guitar kit from Coban Guitars and Dave's Coban Les Paul Guitar Kit). The company has sound environmental policies in that their products are no longer supplied in polystyrene boxes but in recyclable cardboard. Deliveries have been prompt and any questions a customer might have via phone or email are attended to quickly. Prices are very fair considering the quality on offer.

Nov 09,2019I received the kit guitar promptly and unwrapped two days later. I was surprised to see the name Floyd Rose on the bridge; that's what's on the Ibenez. Everything appears to be there so when I get the time to assemble it, I proceed carefully after watching YouTube videos for how it's all done. The real test comes when it's played; I'll write a follow-up review then.

Nov 09,2019I ordered a kit as a sample before embarking on a series of build Your own courses for my Social Enterprise 12 Guitars. Mark was responsive, hugely helpful and prompt in responding. When the T style kit arrived both myself and my Luthier were extremely impressed with it. The quality of the woods, routing hardware and pickups were better than we’d expected at the price point. The frets will Need a little work which is actually ideal as the courses are designed to show our delegates how to pull a guitar together and make it okay like an instrument we’ll beyond it’s provenance. I would highly recommend Cabon Guitars. We will be using them for most of our main models for the courses.

Jan 08,2020This was my 2nd kit but first from Coban which was a PRS style guitar. Everything was perfect and far superior to my previous project. Wood was well cut and better wood prepped for finishing - didn't need too much sanding. Neck fitted to body tightly. All the parts were decent enough quality. I've already finished the guitar and it looks great and plays great! Coban were helpful from start to finish and contactable on WhatsApp if needed. Would highly recommend for guitar kits. I would add that if you've never done a kit guitar before, do lots of youtubing, ask on guitar forums, ask Coban on WhatsApp. Things will go wrong. There are no instructions for most kits I have come across but everything you need can be found on YouTube, from aligning and glueing neck, setting up floating bridge, finishing techniques, guitar setup. The learning process is all part of the fun of doing it yourself!
