Dec 10,2023Second kit I have had from coban and helped by staff on the purchase of quilted maple lpwhich went very well, as I did not want the electrics or hard ware, I'd advise if you want a kit you can't go wrong here, my only niggle was the spare bit of quilted maple for headstock is too small, otherwise brilliant, thanks guys I'm starting build after xmas. Keep up the excellent work

Nov 21,2023Before purchasing my kit, I had a question, so contacted Coban via their website. My question was answered within 15 minutes! My kids, family or friends don't reply as fast as that! Impressive. I ordered my kit and it arrived within a few days. It's beautifully machined and fits together perfectly. After completing the dry build and confirming all parts were present, I dismantled it again. I'm now most of the way through the actual build and I have to say, I cannot wait to get it finished and plugged in! I'm already thinking about my next build :)

Oct 29,2023I've wanted to build my dream guitar for a while, I researched all the hardware I wanted to use but there were multiple options of pot size etc, I spoke to Mark at Coban Guitars who gave me all the advice I needed and sent photos. This kind of service is rare to find these days and it's great to find a company that loves what they do and values its customers. So this morning I ordered their LP755 les paul style arch top with burl top and Mahogany body. I can say that although these kits are available on amazon, I'd recommend going direct as the service is spot on. Many thanks to Mark for his great knowledge and support. 💯 👍

Oct 26,2023Bought the PRS style kit with tremolo bridge Pros Came well packaged Frets & neck nice Spalted maple body looks great Sounds pretty good Easy to assemble Easy no solder electrics Cost in total around £220 this includes replacement machine heads & oil & varnish, time taken to build around 2 weeks Cons Need to replace machine heads The maple veneer is not flat, seems to have not stuck in certain places The tremolo bridge is not very good, goes out of tune when using tremolo bar, so much so that I have now removed bar Conclusion It’s very nice to put together a guitar that is personal to you, it’s a one of, it looks great, it plays ok, satisfaction of building your own guitar however for the same price you can get a better finished & better playing guitar from a certain German retailer, but then again you wouldn’t have made it would you ! You decide what you would rather have.

Oct 25,2023Guitar parts were well made, and easy to put together, there were no issues with predrilled holes at all. From the descriptions on the website, it was easy to pick out the kit I needed and wanted. The pickups are decent and give a great tone and output. The wood used seems lighter than branded guitars, but this suits me s I don’t want a heavy guitar. I’ve bought and handful of Coban guitar kits now,and I rate them highly. I would buy again

Jan 12,2024I bought a bass guitar kit from Coban after confirming that they do ship to the US. Mark at Coban quickly and politely answered my question. Time from confirming my order to the package arriving on my doorstep from the UK to the Western US was less than 4 days. After examining the parts, they are of a much higher quality than any of the kits I have bought in the past from other companies. I will definitely buy from Coban again.
