Jun 24,2022Having paid the full amount I bought my bike for I now understand that the nominal transfer fee is more or less the amount I have saved in tax relief. No savings. I could have bought a much more reasonably priced bike outright on 0% credit from a major retailer. I didn't receive any emails from cyclescheme as their. emails are now blocked from my employers (a government department) outlook account so I received some rather sinister communications from someone in Central American wanting my bank details. If you try to phone the number in Bath it either just rings or is answered again by someone in Central America. If I don't pay cyclescheme the savings I have made in tax relief they will inform HMRC. Well I'd rather pay the treasury than some Central American profiteering company. In short I purchased a much more expensive bike that I would have originally bought, with restrictions of where I could purchase it. Believing that the savings I would make would make it worthwhile only to discover that any savings would have to be paid to the company who arranged the scheme. In short in real terms there are no savings to be made in this scheme.

Jun 21,2022Too early to give a review. Approved by company 13 days ago still waiting for certificate. Was hoping to take bike on holiday this is not going to happen now. Maybe I will get it in time to start going to work when I get back. With it taking about £140 to fill the van with fuel I hope so. Thanks cyclescheme for your reply To manage peoples expectations maybe it would be a good idea to let applicants now it may take up to 30 days after approval to get the money through. I would also suggest don't ask for reviews before the transactions are finished the score will be higher at the end.

Jun 13,2022It worked. But it took way longer it should have taken. The process was stuck in "waiting for payment" during 3 weeks. I don't know if this is due to limitations on the legislation, my company taking it's time to do their part, or another 3rd party factor. But, from the user point of view, it's really slow. Am I asking too much? I don't think so. I've used similar plans in Argentina (delivered same day), and in Ireland (delivered next day).

Jun 10,2022No issues from filling in the online request. Informed of all stages as and when they were completed. Certificate was issued and bike was purchased the very same day. Great scheme 10 out of 10!

May 31,2022Cyclescheme is a great way to buy a bike specially when it is an expensive one, and you would normally not have the budget for it. It gives me tax and NI savings , and I need to pay back in 12 monthly installments which is convenient. Cyclescheme Customer Service is also great as the calls were promptly attended, and all the questions answered with clarity. There are many retailers from where we can choose the bike, but I wish that Halfords was also part of the scheme as it is a big retailer and has lots of options for bikes. I had to visit a few retailers before I could decide one. Another improvement could be to give the people the ability to change the value of a voucher after the cyclescheme voucher has been generated, as there could always be a change of plan. In my case the bike I was planning to buy went out of stock and I had to hunt for something else of similar value (as the total of bike and accessories cannot go above or below the certificate value).

Apr 30,2022Initially the scheme looks great however when you look more closely there are challenges. If you find the right bike and the store will hold it for that's great. I found the bike but the application process is slow the bike had gone. So different supplier located however they would not let me have the bike at the sale price but would take a deposit. Keep searching and I find the bike 100 miles away and they can order it and take a deposit. They wont do free delivery on the scheme as they would normally do for a standard purchase so £50 delivery but not the end of the world. Order placed with the bike shop but I am waiting my employer to approve the application. When I then check the application status I find out it would compromise my company car as I would not be using the car to get to work every day. This would mean I save £200 on a bike purchase but lose £6k on a company car. So I cancel my application and just purchase the bike. So three weeks wasted. Would I recommend the scheme yes as long as you can find a good bike dealer, your existing work benefits are not compromised and your not in a rush for the bike.

Mar 24,2022This is a potentially great benefit, but Cyclescheme come across as unhelpful and complacent. Having got to the end of my year, I'm having all sorts of problems trying to pay the final amount to enable me to ultimately own the bike. They won't / can't take the money and they are useless at responding as to what the problem is. When I try to doublecheck details on the 'My Account' section of their website, it errors every time and there is no help facility except the dreaded Q&As which are not useful. They don't appear to have an operational complaints procedure. I requested the name and email of their CEO so I could raise directly, but I still haven't heard anything.

Aug 15,2022This is for the Irish part of the business It’s been shocking from start to finish and i will never ever use them again. In process of asking employer to move off the scheme like most of the bike shops are doing All they do is take their commission and say sorry for the trouble , we understand and send emails saying resolved yet I’m still here with no bike having spoke with 6 people for more then 3 hours.
