They were prompt and efficient. The work was completed sympathetically taking great care not to cause to much disruption. We suffered minimal inconvenience, the workers were polite and knowledgeable, hardly stopping for a break. I was overall very happy with the installation.
I got solar panels installed from eco-energy.uk. at lease two time people came and did survey. but No one said I need a smart meter. simply installed and went away not even explained about the system properly. By the time I got the DNO notification and tried to applied for smart export my electricity company said I cannot do as I don't have smart meter , not sure how its installed I see no difference in usage of units going down in my main meter. looks like even my main meter is counting the units generated by solar panels. so I am ending up paying money for power generated my myself

After years of research about solar panels we decided to use Eco Energy spur of the moment based on a recommendation from a friend. There was a very quick response (sales rep was there the next day!), he answered all our questions and we paid the deposit that day. We then looked at the negative reviews online about the company and panicked - what have we done?! However, these fears were unnecessary and reviews the opposite of our experience. Fitting was prompt, the roofers fitting the panels were friendly and efficient. The electrician was excellent as well, and all communicated with us re timings on the day. Would highly recommend.

Verified purchase. We contacted Eco Energy for a quote after swaying whether or not to purchase solar panels. Appointment was made and the explanations regarding the panels, potential short and long term savings etc. No pressure to sign for the sale and we were given ample opportunity to consider our options and review our own circumstances. We elected to proceed and we had our panels installed approximately 3 weeks later. 6 x solar panels fitted with no issues. Professional, polite service with follow up from Michael (sales) and the team at Eco Energy. Electrician attended a few days later and frankly they left my house tidier than I presented it to them. Good explanation of the mobile app and we have had zero issues thus far. First class service and the team remains in contact to ensure that we are having no issues etc. The team behind the scenes - Demi and co - have been able to provide all the documentation for my energy supplier efficiently. We had been advised of up to 12 week turn around for all external agencies to verify the installation (Scottish Power, Octopus etc) however today (3rd May) we have had confirmation of the switch in tarriffs etc. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Eco Energy and I've already passed on my positive thoughts about them to neighbours who have queried with us.
Very easy to deal with by guiding us through all the steps before installation date. Solar panels arrived on time, two very clever and efficient chaps had them up in a couple of hours, electricians arrived soon after to Connect them up. No mess, friendly and efficient. Heat pump came later, due to illness, but again the guys worked incredibly hard, especially the plumbers who had a difficult time under our floors to conect new radiators. All in 2 days. No mess, everything tidied after them Great service. Must mention the office too, as info came when we needed it. 5/5
I learnt about Eco Energy (EE) via Instagram. Filled up a form and arrived a sales person within days. Professional sales team, performed a check and offered an attractive deal for a heat pump, solar panels with battery pack. Explained how I could get a grant via Home Energy Scotland (HES) (albeit a lengthy process). Put a down payment, and after 4 months secured the grant (holiday period delays and HES processing time delays). Throughout the 4 month period I received a call from EE every other week from EE asking for updates. EE then sent a site engineer to inspect my home before the installation. My home's heat piping is less than a year old and as soon the engineer noticed that the size of the piping is not within size specification, he immediately advised me that whether I am sure that I want to replace all my piping at home (being a new built home and it will be covered by EE no doubt). This was something I was not entirely aware while signing up. (Not sure why HES is not making all new homes built since 2-3 years ago to be compliant with Heat Pump size piping). I decided not to proceed based on the honest feedback and advise from the EE engineer. I then started the refund process and was amazed to see how they handled my refund request. After some required back and forths, I received my refund within 2 weeks. I would definitely be a repeat customer on the next chance and would recommend EE anytime to my Scottish friends and family.

In my family I’m referred to as the grumpy old man, and certainly not known for giving reviews. However, I have to admit that my engagement with Eco Energy was entirely positive. After engaging online in the morning, I received a call in the afternoon to arrange a no obligation in home assessment. I must state that the call was not a ‘sales call’ but a very professional and friendly call asking if I wished to proceed with the assessment. The person that conducted the assessment was very knowledgeable and professional and guided me through what I actually needed as opposed to what they could sell me. This I found refreshing, and in my mind differentiated Eco Energy from larger competitors who would sell you as much as they could whether you needed it or not. Installation team were excellent; held up by traffic but they called to inform me of their slightly delayed arrival. Obviously a bit of dust and debris which I offered to clear but they insisted they would clear it up which they did. Electrical follow up team were professional, efficient and polite. I received a follow up call the next day from management asking if everything was OK and also a couple of calls from the support team again asking if all was well. I understand that Eco Energy is a growing company but I would ask them not to lose the personal attentive touches that differentiates them from the larger faceless competitors.

Eco energy was recommended by a friend. We got a sales representative to do a home visit and go over all the options that were available to us. Price was in the same range of other quotes we had had. We were allowed to choose our own set up for panels and storage. The day of installation went through without a single issue. The panel installation was over and done with in a flash and no mess to clear up. The electrical side of things took a bit longer but was still done very quick and efficiently and again no mess. After the installation was up and running the electrician went through the process of installing the app that let us see what was happening with the new system. He explained it very clearly to us and answered any questions we had. The office based customer support team were also fabulous. They kept in touch with us and gave us clear instructions what would happen each step of the way. I would recommend Eco Energy to anyone thinking of solar installation.
We had solar panels fitted two weeks ago by Eco-energy and found it to be quite a positive experience [although not without a couple of hiccups]. The Salesman/ Surveyor was very pleasant and knowledgeable but did not make a good estimate regarding the number of panels that would fit on to the part of our roof intended nor did he have a good look in our loft. To be fair to him, our loft is difficult to access and in the end the Converter and Battery were put in a downstairs cupboard. He was keen that we should sign up on the day, but accepted that we wanted time to think things over. When the fitters came to install the Panels they knew that they would not get six on to that part of the roof. This resulted in phone calls going backwards and forwards between the office, boss, fitters and ourselves. A bit of a waste of time, but a satisfactory solution was found. All the workers were very polite, wasted no time and cleaned up afterwards. Communication with the office has been fine and our system seems to be working well.
Not impressed. High pressure sales tactics deployed when all we wanted was a quote. We were told it was a free no obligation quote when we booked the survey. The “surveyor” didn’t look inside the loft space, at the dno meter / cut out or at our distribution board so he had no idea of if the electrical installation was suitable or if the roof could take the install. Everything was explained well, the figures all added up to what we expected, then came the high pressure sale. Is that good enough sign here … no thanks just send me the quote please … why don’t you want to sign now ? … sign now and I’ll give you a discount on the price or give you extra panels for free yada yada ….. I actually found it quite rude then when the “surveyor” started asking about our finances etc It was akin to a double glazing sales pitch expecting you to sign there and then when all we wanted was a quote which in the end turned out to be over inflated by a good few thousand pounds. I certainly won’t be buying anything from them with a sales pitch like that and over inflated price. I certainly wouldn’t recommend either. 10/5/24 in response to their response: No this isn’t a fraudulent review at all ! You have not tried contacting me or asked for further information about the appointment at all, you’re just trying now to make yourselves look good on a bad review ! This review still stands as a high pressure sales pitch trying to get customers to sign up there and then.

Great service. Very smooth installation. Very helpful installers who also took time to go over the app. Great communication regarding paperwork following installation.
1. Immediate response to online enquiry. Salesperson was friendly, helpful and able to explain the product, how it works, how it would be installed, the costs, the impact on bills. 2. Company responded very quickly once I’d decided to go ahead and were able to offer an installation date which suited me perfectly. 3. Company kept me informed all the way. 4. Initial surveyor was able to make changes to suit my preferences. 5. Installation team arrived on time and worked politely, efficiently and were careful not to damage my carpets etc. I was taken through the app details etc. 6. The company were very quick to check I’d been happy and to initiate process of next steps. At the time of writing, the panels were installed two weeks ago.
Now seems an appropriate time to post this as I have moved house so the threat of blackmail no longer exists. I’ll refer to the original review to which you took offence to and remotely switched off my system (that would be their lovely CEO) Things didn’t get off to a good start regarding install dates however this was finally sorted out. Guys doing the actual install were very good but as far as customer service goes its an absolute joke. Fitted a solar hot water immersion heater that never worked. Was never setup according to the instructions right in front of the guys face ( who also smelt quite strongly of weed) and after nearly 6 months I have finally got my money back after being completely ignored. Before they had even reached the bottom of my stairs the phone rang asking for payment for the install. The second they had my money they were no longer interested in the issues i was facing. Had planned to further improve my system with battery storage but no chance I would ever use this company again after the way I have been ignored. The number of dissolved companies on your books speaks volumes. A quick google of Matthew’s name brings up rather a lot of unhappy customers. Only wish I had done my homework. Just use a different company and save yourself a lot of unnecessary hassle. Anyway after removing the review due to him locking my system I had control again so contacted the manufacturer to ensure he could no longer access this. Ended up with 2 ex police detectives now working for trading standards at my house for over an hour for an interview regarding his behaviour. (Turns out I’m not the only one he has done this to!) So really just a word of warning more than anything. Wouldn’t dare write this review if I hadn’t moved out of the house. Who really knows what he’s capable of
Eco-Energy installed our Solar Panels last year. The whole process from the Site Visit to final installation was perfect. The men installing were great and very thorough and cleaned up everything after they had finished. I would highly recommend them

Jun 07,2024This Company called me at an inconvenient time (I was driving). Politely asked them to call me back at a time I knew I wouldn't be driving, to which they committed. 2.5 hours after said time, they call back. I'm back on the road again, and ask them to call me at a convenient time. Nothing. Ended up calling them. Arranged half day holiday from work for the Appointment. 16 minutes before the Representative was due to arrive, I received a phone call telling me he wouldn't be, giving all sorts of excuses about car problems, roadworks blah blah blah blah. Utter nonsense. Then had the audacity to ask if I'd give them another chance, which was swiftly declined. Avoid at all costs, totally unprofessional Company.
