Dec 30,2023The stuffed turkey joint arrived first thing in the morning of the designated delivery day boxed and wrapped in a thermal sleeve with ice packs. The joint was of excellent quality and made the meal one of the best Christmas dinners I have cooked. Excellent value for money

Dec 27,2023We always aim to buy a fresh, free range turkey for Christmas and so decided to give Farmison a try this year, based on their published reviews. A turkey crown was ordered in November, for delivery on 23 December. Communications were very good, with the order being confirmed promptly, and we were able to modify it to add bacon a few days later. The meat arrived by courier on the correct day and was well packed in recyclable materials. However, on unpacking the bird we were surprised to find that a substantial amount of the meat was frozen. At first we thought this was down to the ice bags used in transit, but the inner carcass was completely frozen, as were the giblets. On raising this with Farmison we were told that the turkey had been stored in their fridges at -6C. I queried this, as we had ordered a fresh bird, but was told that this was industry practice and a product isn't considered frozen until it is stored below -12C. So, despite the advertising, the meat was not fresh, but frozen, and required defrosting - something we had not allowed for. Given this "sleight-of-hand" description of "fresh", I also queried how "free" was the range the birds had to roam in, but to date have not received a response to this question. Caveat emptor, I guess.

Dec 20,2023Another great online butcher. The pork belly is really good and rolled to perfection. They have some cuts of meat you don't see elsewhere. The game is always excellent too. Had a really nice saddle of venison. Always fast delivery. Never had any reason to contact customer service! Recommended.

Dec 18,2023I’d been eyeing up Farmison & Co online for a while but didn’t take the plunge given the current cost of living crisis when I’m used to heading to the local supermarket or butcher. In the lead up to Christmas - I decided I wanted to try better quality meat and the 20% off the first order hastened my decision. Amongst a bunch of steaks, a leg of lamb and a duck crown, I also ordered the Tomahawk steak and cooked it a couple of weeks ago. My oh my, all I can say is, you get what you pay for! I could absolutely tell the difference in the quality of the meat, it smelt, looked and just tasted far superior to meat I am used to buying. I’ve made two orders and continue to scour the website for what I want to try next lol. I didn’t quite understand what could be so different about steak that costs so much, and yes even though you read about how they’re bred and reared etc, I really didn’t comprehend until now. The proof is in the tasting. Simple as, you have to try it to know it. It may not be a regular occurrence for some, it is pricier than probably what you get in your local supermarket, and if so that’s fine, but this could be the occasional treat - as I’m telling you, you won’t regret it. I certainly don’t!

Dec 18,2023I ordered a stuffed turkey breast for the 17th as we have famine or feast in our house for Christmas, and this is famine year! It was absolutely delicious and everyone loved it. Very easy to cook. We also had the pigs in blankets. All in all a great result and will be back ordering more. Ps your mincemeat is the best I have ever tasted! Delivery was on the date and time given.
