I order from Farmison a few times a year, but yesterday we had the best pork belly I have EVER had. I’d like to say it was my skilful cooking (!!), but I think that it comes down to the absolute quality of the meat. It was so delicious and the crackling was phenomenal. Every time we order from Farmison it just confirms that we are buying the best meat we possibly can.
My initial order came incorrectly, instead of delivering pork belly I received pork loin. I contacted customer services via their Whatsapp chat and within 30 minutes they had arranged to have the correct pork belly sent to me on Saturday next day delivery, free of charge.
Had problems with my latest delivery not caused by Farmison but by DPD. Rachel at Farmison customer care was a complete star. Helpful friendly and reassuring. Through her direct intervention my order arrived in its usual fine condition. I hope Farmison realise what an asset they have in Rachel. Customer care of this standard unfortunately is no longer the norm. First class produce and customer care.
I have used Farmison twice for the purchase of steaks and was impressed with the quality. Most recently they provided me with great advice for a steak tartare. Excellent service and quality product in my experience.
I am a widower pensioner , living alone, trying to locate a good, reliable online supplier of Yorkshire meat. Of the four companies I am currently testing, Farmison is the worst. Why is this? 1) I asked if it would be possible to chop a small leg of lamb , costing £42+, into two halves to make two roasts. I was told that this was possible , but at an additional charge of £15 !!!! 2) I bought a 250 gram pack of Ripon Cathedral Bacon for £7.25 , but the rashers were over 50% fat !!! The quality of the fresh meat and poultry I tried was generally good , but was not superior to products of other online butchers , whose charges were up to 50% less for a similar product. The packaging is in a large polystyrene cooler box , but the use of straw like filler is very annoying as it disperses everywhere during unpacking .
After horrible purchase experience, Farmison continue to waste my time sending unwanted sales emails. When i try to unsubscribe, my programs WARN ME THE LINKS ARE UNSAFE! (Not a pun... thawed sausage links & hot dogs with no useby date also UNSAFE LINKS). Farmiscam knows i am unhappy, but continue to barrage me with unwanted sales junk. "Xendesk" is a dishonest name for poor customer service! Purchased meat box & multiple other items. Received 27th June 2022. Site promises 3-day cooler protection; gives 4-day delivery time;, and hides SHORT (3 DAY) shelf-life! Sell hotdogs with no use-by date! Site & marketing materials promote Royal Family relations. Clearly Royal Family receive better service. Whilst speaking with Customer Services, staff laughing at our conversation when i complained about Farmison dishonest sales approsch! Complained to Farmison, who wanted photos of each individual item with batch details! 15 items in all! They clearly have no RECORDS OR quality control or customer service requirements! Farmiscan site HIDES SHELF LIFE! and includes the dispatch date in 4-day delivery.... unsafe when items have 3-day shelf life and cooler-effectiveness. This is particularly important in the summer & autumn.
Received a box as a present with Beef Wellington & Pork Pie No cooking instructions with the kit Could not work out on their web site how to get cooking timers so will have to work it out for myself A ridiculous way to sell a cook at home product I don't want to search a web site to try and find the cooking times
Ordered goose legs ..as an ex farmer I expected young ones for the price , no chance. I read the packaging and noted frozen 6 months earlier , consume before the next day! What? The two goose legs were let’s say… taken from an older bird , if you buy these I suggest simmering for 3 to 4 hours minimum, you then might get something edible.

Oct 14,2022I bought venison burgers. Small very sharp pieces of bone in them. I had at least 6, husband 3. Immediately did the right thing and called customer service as this represents a danger to those who eat them. I sent the requested label information and pictures to them within minutes. Heard nothing back - today is Friday and that was Wednesday early afternoon. Clear risk to customers and no one seems bothered…Still available on the website. Now 18 Oct. No response. No response to my emails asking what they’ve done about this. Still selling Venison burgers and minced Venison. I’m shocked and disappointed. Profit before safety of customers. Reported to authorities. Now 21 Oct. Farmison called me after last update. They believe only one batch of this product is a problem. BUT - done nothing to remove that batch or notify customers! Have reported them to the Food Standards Agency. Offered me my money back - will accept but as I told them - not about the money, it’s about providing safe product and keeping customers safe. 27 October. Radio silence. No refund no nothing No reply to real questions and now I see why - they are about to crowdfund via Inverlieth LLP. I will keep going until I know the answers. So I elicit a response shortly after I update my review. Only then. At least that is consistent. Operations Director is assuring me this is a one off situation. No recall of the contaminated batch. No request for the venison burgers I have and the mince. I’m not eating it. Bone to be expected apparently according to their Ops Director. The only Venison mince with bone in I could find is supplied as dog food! In summary - I am clearly not believed. 12 October until today 27 October. Am I missing something - surely minced meat may only be made from skeletal muscles with accompanying fat? Meat that contains bone or bone splinters should not be there - end of story. Note that no reply to this review from Farmison. I think they thought I’d just go away,.. I have the response from the Ops Director. To summarise - taken this issue ‘very seriously’ - 12-27th Oct for a meaning response to my questions And only once I update on here. All machines working fine and so concluded there is no issue. No other reports or so they say. So contaminated after the process?. Why haven’t Farmison collected all the others from the batch I have in my freezer? These pieces and shards of bone got in there somehow. They should want to know even more than me… 31 Oct. I’ve escalated to the CEO/founder. It’s simply not acceptable that nasty dangerous shards and pieces of bone are in their minced products. Nov 3rd due a call with CEO/founder. November 4th. Defrosted 2 more from different batches and lots of bone shard fragments in both batches. Took film and still photographs as proof. Radio 4 might need to know. We should be able to trust our meat producers. To tell me bone is acceptable and no other batches an issue is simply NOT true! Going to ask for an email, written response. Call with CEO. More a sales pitch and said he didn’t understand what it was I wanted since they’d done a trail, checks etc and a very rare occurrence- all fine. I found it difficult to get across that 3 out of 3 different batches was not very rare. In fact the very definition of consistency! I pushed and they are receiving back packs - including packs from 6 batches I have not checked. Will be interesting. They go today. Almost a whole month since first discovered in our lunch time burgers. One burger from each of the batches returned. They have been at Farmison for over a week. I requested an update on their findings and no response. I think they thought they’d get the product back and then any proof I have has gone. Update 2 December. So inspection by food standards agency (FSA) as a direct result of my intervening showed that an incorrect mincing plate was fitted and a required diverter not fitted correctly - resulting in what should not have been in the burgers - bone and gristle being in them and hazarded to health. Apparently due to staff not being properly trained. FSA watched CCTV on an unscheduled visit. The issue had been resolved by the time they went there. Worry that they didn’t know until I had alerted them. Seems odd no one else did - according to Farmison! I’m awaiting information on a recall of these products since venison bone is particularly brittle and sharp. In the meantime Farmison have ignored all my requests about their findings on all the additional batches I returned, as agreed with them. God help them if someone is injured! I will keep my 6 additional burgers all from batches around that time but not tested yet by me, in the freezer. Good to know the FSA take these things seriously. Seriously worrying that Farmison were not being honest with me. I knew the CEO was bullying for a reason…
