Mar 18,2020GoodLife Home Loans made the best proposal of the four reverse mortgage providers we had contacted. Dawn Bestafka our loan origination manager did a great job helping us through this process. Due to our recent move and cash purchase of our home allot we f the required documentation required for FHA loans was a bit difficult for us, Dawn worked with her loan processor tirelessly to make this happen for us and we are very grateful for her efforts. We hope not to use the line of credit in the short term, but with the market being so volatile it provides a great source of piece of mind for us if major expenses come up that are not in our retirement plan. Thanks Dawn for hanging in there with us and getting this process completed. We highly recommend Dawn and her team at GoodLife Home Loans.

Mar 04,2020Our agent was Kevin, who worked for Good Life Home Loans...We started our reverse mortgage loan August, 2019,,I had my counselling session on 9/19/2019..everything was still going good..Then Kevin started saying that we needed to make some repairs before he could bring in an agent for a walk through in order to approve our loan,,in order to meet our deadline on March 17, 2020, we got on it right away,,the deadline was given to me by Kevin and Cara, my counsellor,,my son received an inheritance from his grandmother, so we had our home lifted 8 inches...Kevin said that we can fix the imperfections through my loan..he would take out 5000.00. the quote we received from the man Kevin sent out, and we would receive the balance,,After lifting our house we had to wait till February, 2020 to resume with our loan,,,I got in touch with Kevin approx. on Feb 17,2020,,,He said that he needed proof that the house was in my name,,,I had already sent him that info back last Aug or Sept,,he wanted me to get a copy of my step-fathers trust, which had nothing to do with me,,The man has been dead for years and had been remarried for 20+ years...I told him that I could not get ahold of his trust..he said that he needed it, and that he would get a copy of it..I told him that he did not need this,,several days passed, so on March 2nd, I sent him a text and he called me, saying that he did not need his trust....HELLO, I told him that,,,Then he wanted me to show proof that my car was paid off, which I also sent to him last Aug/Sept...I resent the letter that said that my car was paid off,,,since my son paid off my car, he wanted my son to show proof,,so I sent him a copy of the check,,,he said that would not do,,,he wanted a copy of his Bank Statement,,Kevin actually told me this was to prove that no money laundering was going on,,,WHAT,,ARE YOU KIDDING ME,,,we did everything he asked, then he lost some of my paperwork,,Organization is not his middle name,,,Today, we opt out of the reverse mtg loan....I'm not saying that all agents are bad to do business with,,we just got one that was trying his best for us to opt out, which we finally did,..

Mar 03,2020Dawn worked with us as we nibbled at the idea of a reverse mortgage. No pressure and no hard sell. She had patience and knowledge. This decision took several months on our part but once made, the process was quick. As the interest rates lowered she advised us. Any question, she was there.

Feb 09,2020When I started out on this process I had two people giving me quotes. Dave's quote was much better financially. I did , however, prefer to work with someone local and that person would match Dave's numbers. I had a time constraint of the 1st of the year. I was still unsure with who to go with. As the time rolled around Dave kept in touch with me keeping me on the schedule to close ASAP. So by the first of the month everything that could be done to move the process was done. The other guy did not call me to check until mid Jan. By then we had the appraisal and the application. With the constant contact with Dave we were able to close by the end of Jan. The soonest that was possible. It saved my life from a financial perspective. Because of the constant communication We were able to complete the process before I had to start paying bills with credit cards. Thank You Dave Schulte!
