We look after the legal side of residential property sales, purchases and remortgage. We act for corporate clients, 'High Street' Lenders and individuals wishing to change their mortgage product from one brand to another.
We are based in Maidenhead but provide services to customers and clients nationwide. We are available for personal meetings with our local clients and available on the phone for our clients who are based elsewhere in the country.
The service has potential but it was very slow between replies and in some cases there was no indication of what to do next in the process. In one case I was told that information from a third party wasn't received in time to meet a deadline and this was not true. There was also a few hundred pounds of additional charges at the end that I was not expecting. That was not explained by the bank and the mortgage advisor was not aware either. Whilst this is a 'free' service offered by the Bank, you expect to be offered a better service, especially when dealing with your home and large sums of money. Hopefully the service improves before too many more people are offered it.
Very poor communication and general shoddy service overall. Their initial email message was so poor that we thought it was a scam!!! This company was recommended by the mortgage lender, a fact that surprises me!
Our lenders solicitors, paid for by us, but not our choice. They lost documents, several times, didn’t reply to emails, wouldn’t take our solicitors phone calls, were not interested in our time pressures. Dilatory and incompetent in our opinion. Not fit for purpose.
I think my case was slightly tricky due to the peculiarities of various parties involved, but I did feel that the team working on it was protective of customers interests, anticipated problematic issues, and handled everything professionally. Thanks to all.
I would recommend Gordon's Property Lawyers! Rekha was brilliant at keeping us appraised on how our mortgage was progressing, and took time out to explain things. All the staff were very friendly and gave a personal service.

Used as recommended by the mortgage broker but definitely the wrong choice. The overall remortgage process was difficult from the start; had to send information and documents many times, they got wrong three times in the final balance to pay. I was overcharged interests by the new lender and without me investigating I would have lost £150. Appalling service unfortunately.
Umayr Waraich was efficient, very responsive and clear on communication. He worked Saturday's and a Bank Holiday, so I was very impressed by this. It really helped when busy with the working week. Thank you!

Very efficient and got the job done. There were a few problems my end with the upload of documents and it was difficult to finally get to talk to someone to explain the problem and find a solution, but that was my IT problems. A document to explain the whole process at the start would have been helpful - a kind of roadmap, what each step was going to be, why it was important and what was expected as a customer - after all we don't do this many times. But all round quick and efficient service with a very comprehensive IT portal to support the process.
