Very prompt and efficient team and their doc share and workflow platform is great.
A number of issues. The people I spoke to, do not listen. I have spent a considerable amount of time explaining myself only to be misunderstood, repeatedly. They take too long to respond if at all. They take 18 minutes plus to answer the phone in the first instance. You have to give several items of personal data just to the receptionist just so they will leave a message. In one case they asked me for information that they didn't even have. They were incapable of sending documents that refer to our actual contract. I was applying for a bridge and they sent me remortgage documentation Then they refused to adjust it! They also prevented the expedite of my land registry registration which in turn jeopardised the bridge application I have had to move firms in order to get through the application No apology, no acknowledgement no remorse no rectification from gordons Overall, unhelpful, unable and unprofessional
An efficient process. No interaction by any means other than email and website. These worked well. Simple, easy to follow. It worked.

We were allocated these solicitors when doing our remortgage through our broker. Would not use again. We had no access to portal and were not informed why. Emails were sent to us with documents attached for completion but with no explanation as to what was required causing errors and duplicates having to be issued. Emails were impersonal and came across rude. Letters sent out with no names or incorrect names on them. Pointless trying to call as unable to speak to person dealing with case and just put through to call centre who after holding forever were pointless and couldn’t tell you anything other than wait for an email response. Email would not be answered for several days which meant a lot of waiting around for something a phone call could have sorted in minutes! Completed on Friday and told surplus cheque enclosed which it wasn’t! Then told the letter was sent out before the cheque was produced so to ignore it! Still non the wiser when that will be received. Avoid, definitely better solicitors out there! Very disappointed. Find it difficult to believe so many positive reviews to be honest!

Our broker instructed Gordons Property Lawyers on our behalf so unfortunately, we did not have a choice in this. If you are looking to go with GPL, DON’T! You’ll be waiting for any responses for a minimum of 4/5 days at a time per email. When you are lucky enough to get a response by email it’s very blunt, uninformative and doesn’t resolve your questions. As first-time buyers we had lots of questions but was met with confrontation as to why we were asking questions and why we needed to know! Very unhelpful, confusing, a waste of time and throughout the process we had (and still have) no idea what was/is going on. At the start of the process, we completed all the forms within less than 24 hours however, our ID documents as buyers and for our gifted deposit was continually declined without any explanation (all was in date legal UK British documentation). This went backwards and forwards for 2-3 weeks without explanation which caused preventable delays and unnecessary stress. We just kept being asked to refer to the introduction pack which we had read multiple times to try and resolve but we didn’t understand and was none the wiser as to what they were asking us for and to do. Don’t bother ringing the phone numbers or try to communicate with the general case handlers email as you’ll be told to stop chasing for updates, help and advise and to wait for an email response. GPL kept declining ID and were trying to scam us out of more money that was not included in the initial agreement. Wanted us to and I quote ‘pay for another solicitor to confirm our identification, to process and verify this’ what are we paying GPL for, may as well as use a completely different solicitor for less stress! We refused to do this. They then tried to scam us out of more money that was not included in the initial agreement for £25 + VAT per person that needed ID confirmation to use Credas! We complained to our Broker and requested to use our own solicitor but then suddenly (even though absolutely nothing had changed whatsoever) GPL accepted our ID. Later down the line we were asked for authorisation for the property searches to start. We confirmed in email that we gave our authorisation for this. 2 days after we had given authorisation, we were then told “by the way” all funds were non-refundable should the sale not be successful for any reason. I again raised concerns that this was not made clear anywhere prior to our authorisation being given and therefore was an internal issue. Should we have been made aware prior to authorisation that funds were non-refundable we would have waited until we had an approved mortgage offer from our broker that we still did not have at the time. Later down the line more scams for money was put to us by GPL. We were informed that on the back of the property searches they encountered unexpected expenses that we needed to pay again (did not state how much, what for and why these unexpected expenses occurred) more money that was not included in the initial agreement. We have refused to pay anything in addition to the original agreed signed for amount. We are now currently at the point where GPL have refused to continue the property searches as we won’t play their scam games and are also refusing to give us back our £390.00 for anticipated initial disbursements. This should be a straightforward process as we are currently tenants purchasing the property we currently live in from our landlord with a gifted deposit. GPL are based 126 miles away from where we were trying to purchase so I can’t understand why they were instructed on our behalf in the first place. They are also (from what we have so far encountered) not of English speaking which made the 2 phone calls we attempted to have not understandable to add to all of the above.

If I could give zero stars I would. These people are so incompetent it’s a joke. We had no choice but to use them for a remortgage as they were appointed by the bank. They messed up the completion date and took out the new loan 5 days before the old one could be repaid due to fixed term - in effect we have been paying interest twice on the full amount for 5 days - I would t mind but I called them 2 weeks before as they had messed about with the dates on their portal and I was reassured this would not happen!
