They answer any questions quickly and most importantly correctly. The bookings for course’s is excellent. Have still yet to do my practicals and test everything else is all good so far

If your planning to do this course, I would recommend you DONT!!, Don’t waste your money or precious time on a company like this. I wanted to share my experience. We took out this course to better our financial situation and for my partner to get a job and get back into work and after my partner failed his first driving test, the company refused!! To help us to get another one done. We have now hit a brick wall because we paid for the class C+C+E and cannot progress. They also stopped all communication after he had failed his test and offered no further support. I requested a refund for the balance of the course fees paid or to use the balance of the course fees to undergo another class C test and I received no response. I asked them to justify their losses which they were unable to do by just ignoring my request. I wanted to give them a chance before submitting this review but we have received no service at all. We submitted two complaints to customer service and in return was sent a generic computerised message back. It wasn’t even written by a person and no one even bothered to call us after they said they would. Once they had our money that was it, they didn’t care about us anymore. In the begging they were all nice and supportive telling us it’s worth while to do the course, all to scam us into signing up for it. Due to the limited time we have to complete the course we are unable to fund another driving test therefore we will loose out on just over £2000. Which is Money we don’t have to spare. I am bitterly disappointed at this and wished I had done research to find a better company to go through. Please do not use this company, there are better companies out there which are cheaper with great reviews. One word for this company “scammers”.

Specialised HGV Training have been very supportive throughout my course progression. Special mention particularly to Angel in the Bookings Department who has been nothing short of consistently wonderful at every opportunity showing an extremely high level of customer care and professional support. A genuine credit indeed to her company. My thanks again.

I never thought I’ll be a HGV driver if it want for Specialisedhgv team. Brian, Deqa and Sam all were so helpful throughout the training. Getting my lorry licence at the age of 57 isn’t that easy but the team was really good and managed everything for me. I would recommend them to anyone!

Thanks to Tom and Steve for being so friendly and helpful throughout my training. i wasn't very confident driver but steve made sure that i got full attention while training. He was friendly and experienced trainer who understood my problems - i can recommend Specialised HGV and do ask for Steve, he is the best. The training was 4 hours per day and i had extra 4 hours watching someone else train. I had 5 days of training and had test on the 6th day. I did had confusion at the start about 1to1 and 2to1 training but when you spend additional 4hours watching someone else do mistake i think its really helpful.

The company has a very interesting scheme - offered is everything the customer wants. In my case, it was 5 days 4-hour training session which guarantees to improve my driving skills without long lunchtime, breaks for smoking and useless riding on a passenger chair. But after the contract was created the Specialised Training Services Ltd booked for me 4 days training session. I was surprised in my first training day. I asked the company to explain the situation and I got - "2 to 1 training is equally good ", "cancellation of the driving session not permitted" and promises to do an investigation of the complaint in 5 days. The Specialized HGV Training's reply is a lie: In the first training day, the driving trainer said that I am booked for 4 days training session. My agreement with the company is a 5-day 4-hour training session. In my opinion, it is a fraud and the contract is void.

The entire training process was very professionally organised. The bookings team managed my medical, theory and other test as per my availability. Thanks to Ash I managed to get through my training in just 10 weeks. I was bit nervous on the first day of training but the trainer was very friendly and helped me feel less nervous during the training. I wouldn’t say they are cheap but the service you get is second to none- very professional and value for money at the end when they send you for the interview at the royalmail.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! My advice would be save up and go direct to a trainer as these are very over priced and like mis-selling things to you over the phone and unlike most other companies I have searched for they dont offer you a partial refund for pass protection if you pass everything first time. Please don’t get fooled like I did

Thanks to specialized HGV i'm a HGV driver today. Delivered pizza for 3 years and wanted to change my career, spoke to Claire and had a good understanding of what i'm getting and how much i'm paying every month. sometimes its not easy when you're a single parent and managing work, kids and training but thanks to Jorge and the team they managed to get everything booked around my preference. The practical training was very well organised, Andrew's knowledge is second to none. The way he understands your weakness and trains you to master those points is unbelievable. His years of experience in understanding how to train a candidate not just for the test did come handy. Unfortunately, i did not pass on my first attempt.Due to high traffic on my test date, i was bit nervous. and made mistakes on the roundabout. it did pis me off and made more mistakes on reversing but since i had pass protection i had additional attempt for no cost. I got 2 hours of additional training on how to tackle this situations and what to do when i feel nervous. Thanks to Andrew i managed to get through this. I would highly recommend if you're a first time driver please please take pass protection from Specialized HGV, as any thing can happen on your test date and if you fail you have to pay for retest if you don't have pass protection. Also, make sure you have enough sleep on your test date, it does help. I did that on my second attempt and i had a huge difference in my driving. If you're coming around the roundabouts make sure you don't rush, take your time see the mirrors and make the move. If the examiner from the DVLA is not the friendliest one, just keep smiling. you need to just be there for couple of hours and give your best ;) Had my meeting with manpower about the job interviews but i would advice you to keep sending out your CV as much as you can don't just reply on one agency. Thanks to all the help from specialized HGV and good luck for all those who are reading this.. see you on the other side!!

I would highly recommend Specialised HGV if you are looking to be a class 2 driver. Ashely was very helpful throughout the training. I did my research and found that many schools do 16-18 hours or training and specialized hgv offered me 20hrs training. yes they seem expensive because they include a lot of extras in your training to help you pass the first time. My mate did it with a local school and took 3 attempts because of not getting his initial training properly. I love their teaching technics. I had my training one to one and when i finished my training i was able to sit in the cabin and observed the other candidate which allowed me to take notes and see where i can do mistakes during the test. No local school for a cheap price had this option which i can say came handy when i went for test and passed the first time. Also now signed up with the manpower guys for the interviews. Fingers crossed, looking to get started with my first job..its a dream come true for me. Thank you guys for all the efforts you have put behind the scene.

They are not a driving school, they subcontract the actual driving instruction to other companies and call them "their training centres" and I was set up with Lancing Driver Training who as a school were superb but Specialist HGV is terribly expensive for the service offered and the credit is incredibly expensive with high APR that will add over a thousand to the cost. Specialist HGV job finding service is a joke because only once did they contact me about a possible job but once I passed the test and did not hear from them again and I ended up finding a job on my own and now I have taken out a different loan on a much better APR that I will pay off in half the time and for much less and consign Afforditnow/Paybreak as a bad dream. Specialist HGV's only advantage is that they will arrange all your medical, online learning for your theory, hazard perception and CPC tests and the tests themselves but if you have the time you will save a bundle sorting it yourself. Avoid Specialist HGV at all costs, they do very little for you in reality apart being a booking agency for things you can do for yourself and if you need credit and your bank can give you a good APR, less than the 17 odd percent that Paybreak charge, take that and approach the driving schools directly and sort out your own tests and medical as it will be much cheaper and once you pass your test ring around the agencies and get on their books as although there is plenty of jobs for HGV drivers a lot of empoyers do not want to know you as you are considered too inexperienced but be patient, and get your CV out there with the agencies and online recruitment and eventually you will be rewarded. I would do things much differently if I had my time again because Specialist HGV are taking advantage of peoples desperation to charge a fortune and learn from my mistakes and do your research before hand and you will save a fortune!

If it was an option to score 0 stars then I would have selected that. I would never recommend this agency to anyone and wish I hadn't gone near them. They do not deliver what they promise. I have no idea what they have actually done for me or quite what I paid a HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR. I have finally got my PCV Cat D licence, 2 months overdue, and no thanks to them. In the end I went privately to another driving school to complete the test! Specialised HGV haven't even bothered to ring me to find out what's going on. I contacted Specialist HGV at the end of December 2018 and was beguiled by stats of pass rates at the beginning and the fact they provide army and police force with training. I was told that if I passed everything first time to get my PCV Cat D licence, I was looking at completing everything mid February which sounded good as I had a deadline of the end of April to get the licence. As soon as I paid the money up front it was cock up after cock up. To start with, the medical experience for me was extremely dodgy and unprofessional which warranted a £50 refund. However, when it came to booking my theory test which I'd been revising for 2 weeks for, I was told I'd actually been given access to the Northern Ireland theory material, not the England one, and it would take me another 2 weeks to get back up to speed! This turned out to be incorrect information as the two theories are very similar, I was later told by training staff. The left arm doesn't know what the right arm is doing and I had to fight for this information, which could have cost me 2 weeks wasted time and it was unnecessary stress! No compensation was offered for this mistake and all I got was a shirty response from customer service showing they clearly didn't care what I thought. Moreover, I actually have no idea what the staff at Specialised HGV are doing apart from the bookings team. All they did for me was take my money, frustrate me with terrible phone manners, avoid answering my questions and book a few things with huge waiting lists. No training by them was involved anywhere! The only positive thing I can say is about Alizee's professionalism and understanding in the bookings team. Unfortunately, I failed my first 2 tests and was SHOCKED at the price of a retest. Notice, there are no prices quoted or written down anywhere... After failing my second test I inquired with HGV about booking another test which turned out not to be possible before my deadline date. Luckily, I managed to find another stunning company elsewhere who could fit me privately in for a couple more lessons and retest, which I passed! Specialised HGV also tried to use scare monger tactics to prevent me from using another company, telling me that other driving schools aren't allowed to take their clients. They failed to mention this only stands if they're already associated with them! The point is, Specialised HGV haven't bothered to call me and find out what's going on. They have my money, and I'm sure that as far as they're concerned, I'm just ruining their statistics now. I genuinely couldn't be more shocked by my experience with HGV specialists and I am thankful I don't have to deal with them anymore. There is NO benefit to using this agency.

This is a fantastic company that recognise the needs and abilities of their clients and adjust their services accordingly to give the best. I can only say a big thanks you. A little more update on the knowledge material might be useful as the real test have few newer questions.
