Received good experience, only down side is having to wait when trying to contact them by phone and the price was a little high
100% worth doing for anyone thinking of doing the course.
Communication is terrible from these guys, charge through the roof. My training in total cost me 4300 however the company I did it through only change 1400.
Brilliant and helpful team, good knowledge and practical experience
I passed! Peter was fantastic and very patient with me as I was kinda slow on this and needed many practice runs of the reversing exercise in order to get it just right. Also, his vehicle is easy to drive, and I got used to it right away. Highly Recommend
I've always been interested in taking my lorry license but never had the courage to get out there and do it. I initially received an email from hgv training outlining what they could offer and the little start up cost it would be ( this being £10 upfront and then nothing to pay until October 2017). After being accepted for the course I was put through the relevant modules to get my cat c license ( class 2 ). Overall I was happy with how organised these modules were set up for me, however I failed my module 2 ( case studies the 1st time round ) missing out by 2 marks. Once I had failed I called up to arrange a retest to which I was told I would need to pay for a retest myself. For me this was a bit of a joke as the course itself has cost me a lot more than over companies out there are offering so for me a free retest was not much to ask for. I was originally told I would get a call to discuss whether or not hgv training would pay for a retest. To which I received nothing, it was only because I persistently called up myself and eventually spoke to another hgv training operator who had no troubles in sorting a free retest out for me. To which come the test I passed 2nd time round. My only other complaint would be how long it was from when I passed module 3 the practical to doing my module 4 cpc test. This being a 4 week wait! This was highly frustrating as it was the last test to do before fully completing my course, especially when speaking to other people on my module 4 course who had only passed there module 3 a couple of days before. I'm still awaiting a call from hgv training in regards to helping me find work now I have passed my course as this is something I was promised on my initial call when speaking to them. I hope to hear from them soon as for me the fact they say they help you find work was the main reason for choosing to do my course through them. I would like to mention dale Mallon who originally signed me up for the course who was very helpful and to tom Riley. Hgv specialised training overall have been helpful but I feel more communication is needed when an applicant like myself passes the relevant modules, and that they consider how much money the course costs to people like myself to go through as other companies out there are charging a lot less. Hopefully I will get a call soon from them to help me find work. Steven clift
At first I was a bit skeptical, but after talking to them over the phone, I just knew it would be a great experience for me. I'd like to thank Joe for getting me through my C1 test, I must say couldn't have done it without you. Amazing instructors and they highly boosted my confidence.
Very good service. Everything was quick efficient i.e getting dates sorted and booked. The theory online service is very handy which they give you access to.
Katreena was an excellent instructor her communication and encouragement was brilliant
Great way to get your licence if you can't afford it up front. The programme on the computer to help you with hazert perception and question is fab. And to have everything pre booked for you takes the stress out of it. All in all excellent service.
Big thanks to Specialised HGV, I did my class 2, and class 1 here, training was and at relatively affordable prices too... If I could do it all again, it would be here without any doubt. I can't recommend highly enough... Great guys! Thank you once again, Keep on trucking!!!!
Good company, they are a broker so don’t expect to be driving with them. No pre warning that I would be sharing my days driving with someone else, which was a little annoying. Did have a couple of issues getting hold of them. After numerous attempts someone finally answered my calls.
Could be more knowledgeable about the new CPC. All correspondence is done by text or email (think that when spending such a large amount of money that a dedicated person should be allocated) other than that everything ran pretty smoothly through the training body allocated.
Was great way to get into the driving industry but not much help in finding work afterwards.
First, I have to say that customer-service wise, I have very little to fault them on. My sales agent was a chap called Harry Collinwood. I phoned a few times for various reasons and Harry was always on hand, or phoned me back when he wasn't. He was always friendly and positive, a great guy. The booking team, also, were always on hand and great to deal with. What I do feel, though, is that I've been a little misled; though in effect, it isn't serious, just something that niggles at me. Specialised are, I feel, significantly over-priced. I already bought and paid for my C1 license back in 2009 so a vast part of the package they offer, I did not require- medical, hazard perception and theory aspects of the C license, nor did I need to have provisional categories added to my license. All I needed from them were the lessons and test for the Class 2 and the CPC material. I raised this aspect of price and to their credit, they stated that yes, they were not the cheapest, but the quality of the training they provide was the best and recognised as such, hence they were able to put their newly qualified drivers in to vacant positions as employers recognise the standard to which they have been trained. However, to recognise my concerns, they (a chap called Daryl, or Darren?) offered to waive the fee of the medical, (£100) since i did not need it. This didn't happen. As far as the CPC was concerned, Specialised told me that as I already had a C1 license-which I had paid for, I only needed to do the refresher CPC, 35hrs in a classroom. This, of course, meant that I did nothing in the period I was waiting for my practical test, a wait of some 2 months or longer. This information was incorrect. I COULD (and should) have had my entire CPC out of the way before I even took my practical test. I discovered this about my CPC when I talked to the instructors - who were Hughes. I had previously contacted Hughes about THEIR driving course, which was half the price of Specialised. It makes a mockery of their claim to have training to a standard that is much better than other course providers...seeing as how they are USING another course provider..... There were 2 reasons I went with Specialised... First was their claim to be able to get me in to a job asap- in fact they highlighted a students circumstance whereby he was offered a job within 10 minutes of passing his practical driving test. I passed my practical on a Wednesday and my CPC 2 days later on the Friday. When I called Specialised's agency I was told I needed all 3 cards ( driving license (which you have to send back to DVLA to have Cat-C added), digi-tacho and CPC card) before they would even look for a job for me. Makes their claim quite hard to believe about that particular student as it would have been impossible for him to have the license updated The second, and most critical, reason I chose Specialised was because they provided finance for their course. I'm sure there are other providers, but none that I contacted - including Hughes - provided finance. All-in-all, I feel misled about the job placement, I was misinformed about the CPC and their claim to have superior training to others is demonstrably false. There are enough agencies that will take you on as a newly qualified driver- specialised are just another agency. If you have the money to hand, i would highly recommend you shop around for a much, much better deal than Specialised are offering. If, however, you need finance, Specialised were the only people I found to offer that...but I'm confident there may be others. My other half wants to do her Class 2 and Class 1, she won't be doing it through Specialised.......
I was very happy from day 1 to day 4 with my instructor training, with Peter. I found Peter to be very precise with all the knowledge I needed to complete my training and subsequently pass my test on the 4th day. My training bus was comfortable and kept well up to standard. All in all I would recommend RSM to anyone interested in driving for a living.
At times there was confusion between various section s with the call centre as regards information of my progress.Simce passing my rigid test I have not received any information regards job contacts as promised in initial contact with your selves.
Very helpful team, always answered the questions when I was confused! Contacting the customer wasn't as they 'planned' after every test, but other than that it was perfect
good customer service.

Oct 14,2017At the start once I signed up it was great a lot of support and questions answered as time went on I couldn't get hold of the company by ringing them or emailing. I sent emails to them and I never got a email back or a phone call to answer any of my questions.
