Homebox (who have recently changed their name from Billing Better) sent our gas payment to the wrong provider. Six months later I am only just now resolving the problem and getting all the debts settled. Because of this mistake on Billing Better's part, and also because they put my sole name on the gas provider's account, rather than all tenants names, I was also contacted for full payment of all gas for the property. I was contacted by debt collectors, and threatened with my credit score being affected. So to summarise, because Homebox somehow managed to send our gas bill to the wrong provider, I was threatened with a bad credit score - which would have meant my ability to get a mortgage would have been affected by the incompetence of this company. I put the "date of experience" as the date of my review, but this has been going on as a headache for six months, and Homebox knew it was a problem for about a year, but it wasn't handled. I was contacting them multiple times a week for things to get resolved. Sometimes I would get put through to someone helpful, and other times someone would promise to do something like send an email, and then never would. I would not under any circumstances recommend that anyone ever work with this company. I have never had to deal with such an administrative headache in my life.
Do not trust this company. They overcharged my daughter and still haven't refunded her after several months. They're rebranding from Billing Better to escape the terrible reviews. Their 5 star reviews are obviously fake. They just told me very gleefully that they're unregulated (!) so contacting the ombudsman won't help. They apologise for delays in resolving a problem and talk of escalating the issue and then do nothing. This has been going on since July. They promise evidence that they're chasing a refund but it never comes. Do not use this company under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EDIT: I'm involving Citizens Advice now. Unfortunately we didn't see this before our daughter signed up, but CA recommend against using these types of companies as they lack transparency, costs are hard to estimate and they are not value for money.

I recently moved to UK and I didn't know anything about the tax and utility services. They were previously called "Billing Better" (and still use that name a lot) Honestly they're a joke At the start they didn't set up our gas/electricity, probably because they changed which company we were using 3 times, and despite continuously uploading every bill from EDF they didn't begin to pay until well after a debt collection agency started sending me letters Now I've stopped using them, it turns out they've paid nothing towards my water bill despite my payments to them towards it for the 12 months. They say they have, I've spoken to the water company who say they haven't received any payment or contact at all and now I'm getting ghosted by billing better (for almost 2 weeks now) because I'm asking them to sort it The energy company that does supply us seems to have no knowledge of us ever living here and have the wrong meter details Overall they're unhelpful and pretty useless at doing the things they're meant to Avoid, just do the bills yourself, it'll be easier
