Great experience. After a world cruise, we sent a total of five suitcases home at two ports. Luggage Forward meet us at the port and made the process easy. Bags arrived home ahead of schedule and in perfect condition. Yes, the service is a pricey but it is worth every penny and we will use Luggage Forward again.

The way out worked fine, the way back was a problem. A day or two before our cruise ended in Sydney, we received instructions that somebody holding a sign would pick up our bags once we cleared customs. We were one of the last ones off the ship and nobody was there. I try calling the "24 hour number" and the office is closed. In asking around, there had been another couple also looking for Luggage Forward that had given up and left. We kept asking folks and even called DHL (who sent our luggage down there), and they didn't have a record of our bags. After about 45 minutes and being told we would miss the last shuttle, we got in line to leave the terminal. Finally, we were about to be the last to get on the last bus to the airport, I saw a courier drive up. I get out of line and ask if he is with Luggage Forward. He checked his phone and gave me my name, so I knew it was him. He asks for our paperwork, I can only show him the email about pick up. After some back and forth, he takes the luggage. Luckily, they held the shuttle for about 5 min while I dealt with the courier. Later that day, I got an email that they had contacted Luggage Forward and accepted the luggage. So, it finally worked out. At a minimum, we should have been provided with a local contact number for the people picking up the luggage to resolve issues.

Everything, until final delivery, was smooth and perfect. Last minute panic because suitcase was not delivered to my cruise ship cabin, the final critical link. Panicked phone calls, put on holds, told case would be expedited, but still no suitcase with only a little more than an hour before departure. This “last mile” confirmation is a weak link. PS: it did finally arrive.

It took LF three days after we disembarked in Barcelona to hand luggage to DHL. After a small delay for agriculture inspection in Atlanta; luggage sat in Atlanta over twelve hours before being shipped to hub in Cincinnati; then it sat in Cincinnati over 24 hours before being shipped to Austin; then it sat in Austin over 48 hours before being sent out for delivery.
