When we decided to take a cruise this year, we decided to use Luggage Forward to make our travel easier due to health/age limitations. When an unexpected winter weather event shut down our home and ATL airports, we ended up stuck in ATL missing our connection and cruise. We reached out to Luggage Forward to make sure the luggage was not loaded onto our ship. They replied almost immediately that they would pull the luggage and await our instructions. We decided to travel to the original departure island and stay at a resort instead. When we asked if we could have the luggage delivered to our resort hotel, they made sure it was delivered the day we arrived. We expected to pay extra for this change of plans, but not only was there no charge, we got a refund because shipping it home was now cheaper than it would have been from the cruise disembarkment location. They emailed us new luggage tags for the return trip and our luggage made the entire journey with no travel dings at all! This was a wonderful 1st experience with Luggage Forward and will not be our last. I can't imagine having to deal with all the travel delay hassle and airport immigration with two big suitcases. This is an incredible service!
All eventually worked out and my luggage was delivered timely and in good shape. The reason for the one star off was the communication received about the pick up logistics differed from the phone call and email received - so that was tough to coordinate with the wonderful guest services people on the ship.

WE have our ski bags collected at our ski hotel in Italy and brought back to Australia. Labels arrived safely at our hotel in Cervinia,Italy before we departed. Bags successfully collected on 27 December. We dont get back to Australia until 13th January and therefore noon is home to collect bags. So we leave specific messages not to deliver the bags before 13 January. Fedex tried to deliver to our house twice whilst we are away and then threaten to send bags back. If we say dont deliver until 13th Januray when we book -then we expect them only to be delivered once we are home.
The process worked as expected. Baggage made it home sooner than expected. Be careful if sending materials to an Airbnb so fedex knows who is receiving return paperwork. This saves so much effort for older travelers.
No problems with baggage shipped to and from recent Mediterranean cruise. Updates from time of pickups to home and back. Everything went smoothly. A bit pricey and probably not for everyone or every itinerary, but if you have bulky clothes like winter wear, it is worth considering-and unlike airlines our didn’t get lost or delayed in route.
Customer service was helpful. Everything was clear. My bags were delivered to the port and our stateroom on time.
Shipping labels arrived super late. After paying over $x,xxx for my bags, I then had to purchase packing materials (tape, plastic bags & printing fees) after being advised my labels may not arrive in time for pickup. After I bought these materials my labels arrived 1 hour before the scheduled pickup time. After speaking to a representative, I was credited $75 worth of luggage credits to use on my next trip but I only use luggage forward every 4-5 years when I move abroad, so there’s no use for those credits in the near future. This experience was inconvenient and stressful.
Having the two large bags picked up in IA meant we didn't have to schlep luggage from the airport to the hotel then to the ship. I may use this service to send one bag back to the US.

Easy to arrange. Great, complete package sent to us in plenty of time to prepare for pick up. Good communication about timing of pick up, both before and after.
Terrible service recovery. Upon opening suitcase my husband’s clothes were damp and soiled. Clothes needed to be laundered, pressed and even dry cleaned, and this was at the start of a cruise. We were on an international Regent cruise and we used this company as we were told they partnered with the cruise line. Filing a claim was very dIfficult and designed to frustrate the claimant (asking that we produce original receipts for all the clothes!). After going through their process their response was to offer a minimal credit toward the next time we used Luggage Forward! Do they really think we want to use them again?? Regent is high quality cruise line that we have used for years. We are surprised they would partner with a company like this and we are reaching out to them to share our experience. Luggage Forward is expensive, which we knew and accepted, however they failed to engage in any reasonable service recovery. Would not recommend LF.

Quick and easy delivery
I used this service for a 20-day cruise around the Caribbean because my large suitcase doesn't fit in my car. The bag was picked up from my home as scheduled and was delivered to my stateroom on time. Debarkation was slightly more complicated ... I had to find my bag on the pier and handed it over to personnel from Luggage Forward. The bag actually beat me home as I was a day late getting home due to a problem with one of my flights. Luckily, my neighbor held my bag for me. I plan to use this service again ... it's not cheap, but it's so much more relaxing not having to struggle with luggage at airports and my suitcase fared better than it did on the commercial airlines.
