Dec 15,2023Ovago is a SCAM. They don't actually have access to the flights they post online, and through their own admission do not even update their website regularly. I found a transatlantic flight for my sister through Google Flights online; all Ovago had to do was book it for me. I did all the work, spent several days trying all the websites, found the flight, and then made the HUGE MISTAKE of trying to book it through Ovago instead of directly with the airline because it was slightly cheaper. I got an email from Ovago confirming my booking. I assumed that an official confirmation from the airlines was just a formality and that the flight was booked (as is the case with legitimate online travel agencies such as Opodo, Expedia, or Orbitz). When 2 days later I hadn't received a booking number from the airline yet, I called Ovago customer service to inquire, and was told by a very rude, patronizing representative that my booking was cancelled. Why it was cancelled, he could not initially tell me, nor could he tell me why no one had contacted me, not by text, not by email. After a long and drawn out discussion, the representative told me MY BANK HAD DENIED THE TRANSACTION. My husband called the bank while I was still on the phone with the Ovago representative and discovered that no attempt was made to charge the card at all. Ovago lied. Ovago finally offered to rebook (with no price guarantee). I agreed, but they disconnected the call. I was ready to start again and AVOID OVAGO AT ALL COSTS, when a new and polite representative (Apollo) called me back and offered me another ticket at SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER COST. Exhausted and defeated, I accepted. I had to fill out all the forms online myself (again I did all the work) and the representative said he would book the flight. He PROMISED to call me in 15-45 minutes to give me a confirmation. When I got no call, I checked my email and Ovago wrote that they cancelled my booking because they suspected suspicious activity with my credit card. Again I called the bank, and again Ovago lied. No attempt had been made to charge the card at all. Now I have read many reviews which tell me that other customers have been scammed by Ovago in the same way. Other customers even got the same fake explanation about "bank denial" or "high security standards." I suspect that Ovago just books the flight online with the airline as I could have done (and should have done). If the ticket is no longer available because Ovago waits 2 days before they even try to book, then Ovago simply cancels the booking and blames the customer's bank, if they write to the customer at all. Ovago wasted 4 days of my precious time and my sister will not be able to spend Christmas with her family. I could easily have found another flight for the price days ago, but now it is too late (I tried). Ovago has no right to claim to be a legitimate business (which it is not) and it has no right to tear people's hopes and dreams apart. WE ARE ALL HEART-BROKEN.

Dec 06,2023I booked a flight to and from Thailand so I can join a tour. When I got the email with the flight information it had me in Thailand for 48 hours. I went online and chat with a customer service rep. He right away said that I made the booking so that is mine. He then asked me if I have a screenshot. I only take screenshots if I think someone will be unscrupulous. I told him I don't have one. He said I need to pay $50 to change it then he can hand me over to a travel agent who can book my flights. I took a travel agent course back in the days. People often have ask me to book flights for them. Besides I'm very meticulous when it comes to entering data. Once you input the departure and return dates I don't see why it would magically change to give me an earlier departure date. Keep in mind I do exactly as they say by reviewing my booking before submitting. I come on here to warn people that this company is running a scam like some of the others. I read where one lady said she was stranded in another country because they booked her for a few days and other flights yet refused to help her. Sorry to say but when you make a booking only trust yourself to be sure the information is accurate. Also when I said I will not pay $50 to make any changes but I will cancel it the agent asked me if I want him to cancel it. There is a feature that comes in the notice of flights where you can cancel. Don't trust these people to cancel. I got a confirmation of cancel in the mail. Obviously they are running a scam. Any legitimate company would have offered to make the changes without demanding money especially that I discovered the error minutes after I got the flight confirmation. So here I am writing a negative report that is warranted. I'm not doing it for me. I'm doing it to warn the public. I also have another report to make about another company that is running a scam. The issue is I provided the information such as the dates of when I would be traveling but your company issued incorrect dates then when I called customer service they asked for a screenshot. When I made my reservation I had to put in the dates of departure and return. As I stated previously I have to meet with a tour in Thailand. The idea that I would make such a mistake after inputting the dates of departure and return is preposterous. Also your agent wanted to shake me down for $50 to make changes. Then asked me to speak to one of your travel agent to make new plans. I maybe old but I'm not stupid nor do I suffer from dementia. That's why I cancelled my ticket and you provided a refund as you should under federal law. I already got my new set of tickets. Anyone dealing with your company is taking a risk. I decided to book with your company because it showed that you had a price drop. But that was just ruse to get people to book. Then after the incident I went back and checked and your price for the same dates of departure went back to the original prices not long after I got my refund. I don't need anything from you because I got my refund. If not for federal law you probably would never give me a refund. I write this post to warn unsuspecting people there are unscrupulous travel vendors on here.

Nov 29,2023The process online to book a ticket was easy and simple. I waited two days after my booking to reach out and was told my booking was cancelled due to fraudulence. I asked what kind of fraudulence and was told MY BANK DENIED IT. I called my bank to ask if there was any denied transactions due to fraud and was told there was NOT. It sucks because this site provided the lowest fare rate. 2 stars for the clean website and fast helpful chat team. I really don’t know why my booking was cancelled because I confirmed with my own bank no transaction took place or even was attempted, but good luck and safe traveling to everyone traveling.

Also communication was very smooth via chat messaging and no time wasted over the phone. Highly appreciate and will recommend to friends.

Dec 21,2023Ovago is the WORST at updating customers about flight changes. If I didn’t call to figure out how to check in for a flight that leaves tomorrow morning at 6:15 am I would not be prepared for the change. Never AGAIN! Try going with the airline directly but I’ll never book 3rd party unless I absolutely have to and definitely not Ovago! Zero confidence in their communication with customers unless you actually call them. Then they let you know all the things… but if you don’t call, you don’t know, and when you get to the airport it’s pretty much whatever.
