Aug 05,2018It was nice to have the weekend trips and medical placements organised for me but I felt that the website had stuff that wasn't included in the actual trip such as practice interviews for medical school. There should have been more variety for food and varied placements as some girls were in the maternity ward for five days while others were only there for two.

It has helped increase my knowledge as I was able to shadow highly qualified doctors and nurses giving me clear insight to hospital environments.

Aug 02,2018I had a really great experience with Oyster. My project/destination manager, Anne, was extremely helpful and caring throughout the entire process. They provided all of the information and tools I need to be successful. I was supposed to spend three weeks at Paseo de los Monos in Puyo that turned into two weeks. The first week was challenging as I was the only volunteer but during the second week when others came it turned into the trip I had been expecting. When I realized two weeks would be better for me, Anne worked really hard and quickly to give me all my options and made sure I felt comfortable. Overall the project itself ended up being really amazing. The animals and culture is so special, but the lifestyle does take some adjusting especially if you are alone. The whole time I felt safe and cared for, Oyster arranged everything properly.

Aug 01,2018Oyster were great! My destination manager was always at the end of an email and kindly answered the many questions I sent her! Animal welfare is incredibly important to me, so the fact that Oyster Worldwide took this seriously and also care about welfare was why I chose to book through them. I'm so happy they introduced me to a charity (WFFT) that is against the use of elephants being used in the trekking industry, and instead works ethically with these animals. Thanks Oyster for helping me get ready and making sure my trip was a success!

I think we have both benefitd enormously from the experience, even though I remained at home! He had a fabulous experience which will stand him in good stead for the future, and the organisation and support from Oyster was fantastic.

Jul 16,2018I had the most amazing and life changing trip to South Africa and truly found my calling working in wildlife rehabilitation. Oyster made it so easy and I was able to speak with an Oyster representative for all of my many questions as a first time solo traveler. My parents are very protective and were nervous about their young daughter traveling abroad by herself, but Oyster made sure to make my parents feel comfortable and confident in my safety. I would use Oyster again and recommend any of my friends or family to use them as well!

Anne did a fantastic and thorough job in making sure I was well-prepared for my marine research internship in Thailand, taking into account of my individual needs and previous experiences to make a personalised itinerary for me. In terms of the internship itself, it was honestly the best few weeks of my life and the best piece of scientific work experience I have done! I received either 2-1 or 1-1 scientific scuba diving training during my time in Thailand, and was able to dive and see amazing fish and wildlife every day. Throughout my time and even when I arrived back in the UK, Anne kept in contact and was always on hand to answer any questions if needed straight away. I will definitely use Oyster again, and I will travel back to Thailand again - I have no doubt!

The trip itself was amazing, we got to travel around parts of India and the actual internship at the hopsitals was really eye opening. Definitely recommend!!!

Aug 05,2018An amazing experience which taught me lots about the medical system in rural India. The trips at the weekend were fantastic and the food was great. The only improvements would be to have more variety with the food and placements as it got repetitive after a while.
