Apr 27,2025My overall experience with Pickfords was genuinely pleasant from start to finish. What could have been a very stressful and complicated process, a move from the UK to Denmark, was made much less so, although such a tumultuous thing is never going to be enjoyable. From the first visit to quote us and figure out how much space was needed for transport, through to the packing team being thorough, conscientious and efficient, the experience on the UK side was almost perfect. The only slight negative here was the packing time going from 2 and a half days, down only 2, meaning the team was rushed. They remained professional and after drafting in a few more people, everything was sorted. I have to give particular credit to Georgina, our move coordinator, who, despite covering for staff shortages (illness) and being stretched very thin, was a pleasure to talk to and easy to contact, even taking time during annual leave to communicate and make sure our move was going well once import to Denmark was taking place. She always had time for any worried questions I had, which I appreciate immensely. All the paperwork required was explained to us clearly, and there was no slow movement from Pickfords on this. I was fortunate to have everything I required documentation wise within 6 days, and Pickfords arranged all the required customs procedures rapidly after this. My things arrived in Denmark on April 9th after travelling as part of a shared load. I left the UK on Feb 28th. I personally think this is an excellent time to receive everything in my new home. Upon receiving our things in Denmark, it was a real pleasure to meet Frank, our Driver. Frank is a character, in the good way, full of stories, friendly and efficient. He arrived near precisely on time. The porters we were assigned were also great, friendly, helpful and willing to do what was asked of them. They certainly moved a lot of things around. Between them they even manged to help us manhandle a sofa bed up onto a first floor balcony. All in all I couldn't have asked for a much better experience. Any minor problems were entirely understandable, and they really were minor. I can't help but recommend Pickfords enough for their service. For myself, at least, the experience was amazingly positive and, should I ever need to, I would use their services again. The quoted price for the move was also very competitive with other quotes. And rather importantly, nothing was broken in the move.

Apr 26,2025I appreciated the professionalism of the office team in arranging my removals at the time of booking. I was notified that the team who would come on my removals date would be a partner but was reassured that they are Pickfords trained so didn’t feel it was necessary to look elsewhere as I appreciate a lot of work is now outsourced by many companies. However, on the day of moving one team of 2 people and one very small van arrived. This meant that my mother of 71 years of age had to stand by the van to watch over my belongings. The van was a very dirty, “Anyman” van and whilst the removal duo tried to reassure me that my belongings would fit, as I have a 5 piece modular sofa plus there were well over 100 boxes (all quoted and shown at booking) it became apparent that a second van would be needed. Upon calling the office and stressing my disappointment, I was reassured that a second team would arrive soon - this took over an hour and I had to chase this more than once! The first team took 2 cigarette breaks within the first hour or so after arriving, my sale at this point had completed and I was not impressed and was understandably stressed. The second even smaller, very dirty van and with tyres that were rather flat arrived with an additional 2 person crew and things very quickly changed. This second crew were efficient and were clearly the ones in charge. The removals took over 3 hours to complete at my sale property. At the other end at my purchase, my belongings were unloaded in little over an hour. Unfortunately, although some carpet protection was laid down it did not fully protect my carpet and I am now left with marks which I will have to get professionally cleaned. I was expecting a 4 person crew and I am confident this is what was promised otherwise I would have gone with a different company who offered this at the same price. I went with Pickfords as they are an established company but unfortunately I paid a premium for a “man and a van” crew. It was not the experience or service I was expecting especially for the price I paid. I have given 3 stars and not lower, as Kellie in the office tried her best and the second removals team who arrived really stepped things up and couldn’t apologise enough for what had happened. Nothing got broken which I am thankful for and to be honest was surprised by, as my boxes were not handled with much care by the first removals duo. I will not be using Pickfords for any future work of any description which is disappointing. PF25023948-01

Apr 26,2025From first contacting Carla to the packing of our furniture and other items for shipping to Canada by Kieran, Kyle and Slav the whole process has gone smoothly and as promised. I just hope that the agents at the other end are as efficient and pleasant as the UK team.

Apr 25,2025We had a great experience with the company. Everything was well discussed, planned and explained ahead. On the day of the move the crew worked swiftly and professionally whilst being friendly and responsive to our requests (such as what to leave to pack last). Afterwards, we were given all the details to follow the progress of shipping, which gave us peace of mind. Experience at the destination was also smooth, got notified when it was time to clear customs as to avoid unnecessary charges. Agreed on the delivery day and received our belongings. The shipping didn't take long at all and took about 6 weeks from door to door. Only two things got minor damage, one being rectified on the spot by the crew member, another was in inconspicuous place and didn't affect the use so we didn't bother. I would definitely recommend this company to friends and family. Thanks Charlotte and the crew.

Very responsive, extremely polite and helpful and managed to get our shipment to us from arrival to dispatch very quickly, despite some port hold ups on the way. The team on delivery in West Yorkshire were fantastic too and we couldnt thank you more for all the help.

The result was excellent, the costs were more than competitive and the service was first class. The third party instructed in Canada was also very helpful and overall made the whole procedure seamless

So professional, productive, tidy and put you at ease as they have done it so many times before. A big thanks guys. Not to forget Carla who we spoke to a few times again very polite, professional, friendly and has fantastic customer service skills. Thanks to you too Carla I think the person that arranges the move might easily be forgotten.
