Bought a car from the Caerphilly store and had a great experience the salesperson there Neil was very helpful and friendly
Awesome customer service & updated me every step of the way, highly recommended & Neil Jones was fantastic, friendly & thanks to him. thanks so much 5********
Bought a car from mike Thank you so much very stress free experience and very helpful.
Not worthy of even one star, but unfortunately, I can't give less than that. I was very interested in buying a car listed on their website, particularly since I live only fifteen minutes or so from Tonypandy. No photos or details on line, and when I rang I was told the vehicle was being prepared to go on sale - fair enough, I thought. But when I rang a few days later to ask again when the details would be available, I was told it was sold last month! The silly, useless chat thing made no mention that it was sold, neither was there anything on the website to tell you. How to make a genuine, interested customer feel totally frustrated and take my money elsewhere - they certainly deserve five stars for that. Shoddy.
Try to buy a vehicle from them., as my credit rating wasn't great it felt like they where putting obstacles in the way to stop us buying it . Not helpful and very impolite on emails.the attitude of the finance staff is appealing, clear management don't seem to worry about what they say in there reply to customers, also been known for dealers to refuse sales based on commission paid on the finance company used .
Bought my car from here after shopping around but still wanting that additional bit of security and professionalism. Viewed a Skoda Fabia priced a bit more than I wanted to spend, but after a test drive I couldn't fault the condition of the car. Neil sat down with me and was a great help, he didn't put on any pressure and actually helped on the price where we were both happy to do business. After sales has been a great safety net but after 3 months I haven't felt the need to call as the car runs great. As we drove away we noticed a windscreen wiper had become detached and Neil even assured me he would post out a replacement ASAP and it was a great surprise to find it posted the next week! I will definitely be coming here again!
Bought my car from Pinetree Car Superstore in Tonypandy and I had a very good experience. Mike was so professional and pleasant and explained everything I needed to know. Brilliant!!!!
Initial meeting and purchase of the car seemed perfect, well mannered, simple ect. However it seems the car dealer left out very important information, which should have been informed to the buyer before leaving the dealership. Upon questioning of this mistake the ‘manager’ took it upon herself to yell, accuse, and act extremely unprofessional. This has led to my partner loosing out on a days work attempting to correct their mistake , and them passing blame onto any other company other than themselves. This company are extremely unprofessional, and not the type of company you should put trust into.
I bought a green Vauxhall Astra gtc from the Caerphilly branch of Neil in December. I was told the SIM card was at head office and would be sent out to me ( can’t use the sat nav or connect my phone) but it didn’t arrive after two weeks so rang the branch to ask about it. During this time I also noticed the wonders manual was missing so I told Neil about this and he said the SIM card was ordered and he would order me a users manual. I have since rang back two more times to ask about it and Neil has not been there so the staff members I spoke to took my number and said I would receive a back. It has been over a month at this point and no call backs have been received. I doubt I will be receiving either of these items and am very disappointed, Neil seemed like a nice person. If you choose to buy from them make sure that you have every part of the car before handing your money over. I spent £5600 on this car and can’t use two of the functions that is vital for my job. I have emailed the complaints email but haven’t heard back either. I tried ringing again today and no answer, I understand we are in lockdown but we were not for weeks after I bought the car so that’s no excuse. I will have to purchase these out of my own pocket, highly doubt I will buy from these again such a shame as the car is very nice. I did read prior to going to view the car that post sale customer service was bad and they were right. EDIT: This review was written prior to messaging the Facebook page, I will update this further when I receive any updates. Final Edit: I have since received the SIM card and owners manual. My advice is to message them on Facebook if you have issues and ideally don’t leave without everything you need for the car.
Despite phoning ahead, engine wouldn’t start on arrival to view. They said this was because it hadn’t been started in so long because of lockdown. Smelled strongly of cigarette smoke on viewing. Car was backed up against fence so unable to view the back of the car. Took for a short test drive. Agreed a sale which included terms to fix or replace the battery, thorough reclean/valet, an extra key to be provided as was being sold with one key. Collected the car 5 days later, arrived to see salesman hosing off the car which indicated clean never done. Surely enough, inside the car still smelled strongly of smoke. Literally empty fuel tank. They later admitted that they never recleaned the car. Took us 4 hours to clean ourselves. No-one called to arrange new key replacement as promised. Car was backed up against showroom on collection. As we’re in lockdown, had very little chance to drive the car other than one or two trips to the supermarket. After a week of ownership, car was driven a longer distance which was when we noticed what we thought was clutch judder. But the car was only 2 years old, didn’t seem right. After 11 days of ownership, had chance to thoroughly clean the car. At this point, we noticed severe damage to the back bumper and drivers side brake light. The light had water ingress and when pressed, came completely away from the bumper. As bumpers are designed to absorb shock, the force with which this must have been hit was clearly enough to merit this being classed as accident damage. This was never disclosed to us at any point. We called the garage and left two messages. No response after 2 days, which to be fair was understandable given it was the Christmas period. We decided it best to put everything in writing. Emailed to explain that we had found accident damage on the car which had not been disclosed to us during the sales process. We informed them that the car was of unsatisfactory quality and so under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we were entitled to reject the car, within the short-term rejection period of 30 days. We also informed them that it had been their responsibility to disclose the damage, by virtue of the Customer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations Act 2008. We asked to return the car and get a full refund, and to be reimbursed for the petrol still in the car. We had a response the same day asking for photos of the damage. We sent these photos immediately and at this point also mentioned the clutch judder. A few days later we had an email response from the garage stating that they had looked into it and it wasn’t on their initial inspection log, and because we didn’t pick up the damage at point of sale, and they’d checked their original pictures and couldn’t see any damage, then they ‘couldn’t confirm when the damage occurred’. Luckily for us, we had screenshot the entire advert, and once you knew the damage was there, if you checked their pictures, you could actually see the damage. We sent their own pictures back to them to prove it was there before purchase, they started to claim that it was ‘cosmetic damage’ only. Initially they denied it was even there at sale, then they are trying to blame us, then they are making the claim that it was cosmetic damage without seeing it for themselves?! Once presented with their own photographic evidence that the problem was there before we bought it, they glossed over this without acknowledging their mistake or any hint of apology for insinuating that we had caused this damage, and moved on to state that the clutch judder couldn’t have been there when sold because they hadn’t picked it up when they did a road test, and we didn’t pick it up when we test drove it. We pointed out that the car had done over 28,000 miles when we bought it from them, and had done less than 100 miles in the 2 weeks since we had owned it, so to suggest that the clutch would develop a fault in the time since we bought it was ridiculous. We arranged for an independent mechanic to inspect the vehicle a few days later and advised Pinetree that we would be submitting a report. They responded to say that they didn’t have to, but agreed to collect the vehicle and provide us with a full refund. They said this would be done the next day. Someone came to collect the car the next day but we couldn’t get hold of the office for the refund. The following day we had an email to say that they had inspected the car and driven it themselves and there was nothing wrong with it. They claimed the only reason we wanted to return the car was ‘buyers remorse’, but agreed to refund us anyway. They effectively had prevented us from getting the car inspected privately so that we would not be able to prove them wrong. They also would not refund us a reasonable amount for the fuel still in the vehicle.
Bought a Peugeot 208 from Neil in Caerphilly and couldn’t recommend more. The whole experience from test drive to sale completion was made easy and pleasant. As a 22 year old woman I was apprehensive about the whole process but I was never once made to feel intimidated, belittled or coerced. Can’t thank Neil enough! 10/10
Brilliant service. Alex was very helpful thank you 🙂
Just taken delivery of my Mercedes A Class, It's my first time buying a car from a garage and I don't usually write reviews but felt the need to tell others what a genuine nice bunch of people. They helped me throughout the whole process and answered all the questions I had (mam came with me so there was a lot) will recommend them to everyone.
CAVEAT EMPTOR (Buyer beware) Purchased a used Mini Clubman at the Tonypandy branch. Miserable wet day during lockdown so purchase was a bit more rushed than might otherwise have been the case. Car is lovely but has been poorly touched up over one wheel arch which I didnt notice at the time. I would however have expected a reputable dealer to have pointed this out, which they didnt, and when raised later said it was entirely my responsibility to have noticed this prior to purchase. Which, of course, it was. Make sure you allow time to go over absolutely everything with a fine toothed comb as you wont be able to rely on this dealer drawing your attention to any defects.
I am sad to say that I could not recommend this company. After initially receiving a great service from a lovely sales guy named Toby, at Caerphilly, A price was agreed for a VW shuttle that was on sale. I was a bit slow putting my deposit down, and therefore initially missed out. However, within a couple of hours, I was contacted by the garage and informed that the other buyers had been unable to secure finance, so I was offered the vehicle to pick up next morning. I paid a £500 deposit there and then. They later called, after I had spent ages phoning insurance companies, to tell me that the people had now managed to get their finance. I had already paid my deposit, was gutted, but understood. That was Friday I received a call from a manager, today, Monday, telling me that they were no longer selling to the other buyers because they weren’t using the garages finance company. ( they had decided to get a bank loan). So when I asked were they selling to me, they said no, because they wanted more money.... So it seems, that it doesn’t matter who you are. The other couple, although having some difficulty with their finance, were let down by them. And in turn, I was also let down by them as they would no longer sell at the price that we had agreed. I’m not sure if anyone would want to do a deal with such an unethical company or how you would feel about dealing with people who give such a bad customer experience. That’s up to you. I would have accepted the other couple having it, as they got their deposit in first. But to mess us both around. To take deposits from both of us, and then simply decide not to sell, because they are getting a bit of interest at their Tonypandy garage, and I was told they can then get more money.... I was more than a little disgusted. They make you feel that the customer comes first, a deal is a deal after all.... but they reneged very easily when they thought about the £ signs.... This vehicle was at my maximum budget at the agreed price. I had had my heart set on it, this was just the pick up, I had needed ..... Only to get slapped down, not once, but twice. I accepted losing out the those who deposited before me, but find it difficult to accept that we both lost out to greed. Make your own choice and take your own chance if you deal with them. NB.. I need to add to this review, in answer to the pin tree response. That I was clearly not told that my offer was too little. I was told it was accepted, hence deposit accepted of £500. Also since I was told that the vehicle was being sold for more money, the price had gone up on the firecourt by £1000.00. So from just under £22k, to just under £23k. No scruples at all. This isn’t about a misunderstanding, as Toby had checked with a manager, before accepting my offer. It’s just about money.
Recently purchased a car from your Caerphilly showroom and can't thank Neil enough for his friendliness and professionalism. He took his time whilst we asked loads of questions answered everything we needed. He is an asset to your team and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, coffee tea and even cakes on offer!! Rhian is another staff member who is just as helpful and very professional. We have used pinetree before and with staff like Neil and Rhian will most definitely be future customers - thank you

Had a very stress free and exciting experience purchasing my first car. Would happily recommend.
Made a stressful time easy! My partner and I dealt with Owain. We had to upgrade to something larger as we are expecting our first child. He was quick and efficient even during the pandemic. Appreciative the help making it so straight forward.

May 05,2021I have recently purchased a car from the Caerphilly branch of Pine Tree Cars and found Neil to be nothing but a perfect gentleman. Neil was informative and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would wholeheartedly recommend buying a car from this garage!
