Places for people are racists and I currently have no way to prove this which means my review will probably be removed but I'm working together with my solicitor and my local mp to build a case to present to a well-known barrister who seems to think I am unto something that could be big and could help others in the future. Places for people your time is almost up...

Posted a review on here on the 4th November regarding leaking roof and mould which the repair is booked in for February 2025 which will be 13 months after first reporting it. As anyone can see I got the standard copy and paste reply to contact the customer focus team which I found quite amusing as I contacted them before I posted the review on the 28/10/24 and have yet to receive an acknowledgment or reply . Does this dept actually exist ?

I’ve only been here for a couple of months and don’t feel safe in this property or this building . I am being woken up at unsociable hours because of people banging on the windows, people screaming abuse at each other in the middle of the night and teenagers running around at night causing criminal damage it’s a not a safe place and I am worried for my safety and wish to be moved out out of this building if I would of been aware of this I would have never excepted property it’s not safe and I don’t feel safe I will be making a full report to Oldham city council

Been going backwards for over a year now about my bathroom floor had a surveyor round who said it needed a new floor all booked in even had humidifiers sent to me a week before to help take the moisture out I had waited a couple of months to start the work on the day it was meant to start I was up the hospital so my neighbour let the operative in he made a phone call and disappeared so my neighbour rang me and said what had happened so I was furious finally got through to someone who couldn't believe what happened went through this process only to find out the the operative said it don't need doing had another surveyor come round needs doing he said so I get another appointment the day comes for them to start job gets cancelled again don't need doing now I'm fuming I ring up their area manager mark Howard spoke to him he said to me if my operative says it don't need doing it ain't getting done oh right is that your attitude so now I complain again I go to a stage 2 procedure this lovely lady Leanne rings me I go through it all I'm sure she was shocked about my treatment anyway I left everything in her hands sent her a video and finally I'm getting a new bathroom floor after a year of battles I never even asked for a new floor it was the surveyor who came to check for mould and since then I've had another surveyor come round told me my kitchen and bathroom should have been upgraded in 2019 trying to get answers is very hard but the lady Leanne from places for people has been so honest and understanding but operatives are operatives not surveyor's so they need to tell operatives just do what is on your worksheet

This is an update to my previous review about the Golden Mede development, focusing on recent events that demonstrate Places for People's continued poor customer service. Latest issues: 1. Last-Minute Cancellations: - Appointment cancelled at the last minute with vague reasoning - Required to restart scheduling process despite existing documentation - Company seems unaware of basic time management courtesy 2. Documentation Denial: - Despite previous inspections and documentation, being asked to "re-show" issues - Simple problems (like faulty sink plugs reported 2 years ago) still require "new inspection" - Company claims some issues "cannot be found in correspondence" despite multiple previous reports 3. Circular Communications: - Multiple departments asking for the same information repeatedly - Customer service representative needing to "verify" issues already confirmed by technical manager - Even after MP intervention, same pattern of delay and deflection continues For potential buyers considering Places for People developments (including their new projects at Beckley Place, Centurion Place, Longniddry Village, Marble Square, Mayflower Place, Newcourt Edge, Shopwyke View, The Foundry, White House Park, Westhill and Peninsula View), I strongly advise: 1. Research thoroughly - don't just rely on show homes and marketing materials 2. Ask for specific details about their aftercare service 3. Request to speak with current residents about their experience 4. Get everything in writing, including promised repair timelines 5. Consider the significant stress and time investment required to get basic issues resolved The company's approach appears to be: - Delay through repeated inspections - Claim missing documentation - Focus on minor issues while ignoring major structural problems - Use administrative procedures to obstruct progress For context: This is happening in a premium development where residents have paid significant sums for their properties. The level of service does not match the premium pricing. My advice: Consider other developers who have a proven track record of after-sales care and genuine customer service. The initial purchase price might be similar, but the hidden costs of time, stress, and potential repairs with Places for People make it a concerning choice. UPDATE ON PLACES FOR PEOPLE'S RESPONSE: Their response to my previous review perfectly exemplifies their inadequate approach to customer service: They provided a generic customer service number, despite: My case being actively managed by their Head of Customer Service Previous escalations to their CEO Intervention from my local MP Two years of documented correspondence Multiple site visits and inspections Their response suggests I should start the entire process again by "providing full details" - exactly the kind of circular, time-wasting tactics I described above This response demonstrates either: a) A complete disconnect between their social media team and customer service department b) A deliberate strategy to exhaust customers through repetitive processes c) Both of the above It's particularly telling that their response to a detailed review about poor communication and endless cycles of re-reporting issues... is to ask me to report the issues again through a different channel. This kind of response should serve as a warning to potential buyers at their developments. If this is how they handle public complaints on review platforms, imagine dealing with them privately about serious issues in your home. Will continue to update as the situation develops. Date of update: November 2024

I am a resident of spinnaker view in Gosport and I have to say that my flat is lovely but the extortionate amount we have to pay plus we have to pay on top of that for food that is inedible but we have to pay because it's in our contract. I have been treated unfairly and accused of numerous things here that were places for people's fault and I was lied to but I was blamed for things. Living here is a living hell and I am trying to get out of here because it is severely affecting my mental health and no one cares. I would recommend that you stay clear of the company places for people as all they care about is the money but will take no responsibility for anything. STAY CLEAR. I responded to email address and received nothing back so shows how much they care useless as I said before.. STAY WELL CLEAR

I booked in a repair - the bathroom sink leaks and was given a date (11/11/24) when someone would come out and fix it. I stayed in all day I was sent FIVE messages to confirm the date of the repair and then nothing happened. No plumber, no messages, no explanation of why the appointment was missed. I tried to phone and an ansafone message told me that the office closes at 4:30!! Presumably they close early because there are no jobs to do!! A pathetic service and frustrating because of having to stay at home for a whole day for no reason. BTW the sink still leaks.

Direct Discrimination, Harassment and Safety concerns It has become increasingly distressing to remain in our flat at Snowberry Close. Not only have I had to endure a complete change in circumstances in the last 2 years, because of life changing medical conditions, which have a great impact, not just on my physical but mental health. I have now become a target of the housing grounds keeper Jo number 31 and his Minions: Sue-Flat number 64. Who has been trying to intimidate me by parking her white car, Registration AJ16 YMY, closer to my car each passing day, and has been seen leaving notes on my car. She also has 'special privilege to open and close the laundry room'. Katie number 73. They have also been working to try and intimidate me, and this has not been the first time we have been targeted by them either. Is it because we have protective factors? We are a young, married, lesbian, interracial couple, maybe that doesn't sit well with most of the residents. Now it seems there's a huge discrimination when it comes to people with not obviously visible disabilities. Also Jo number 31 has multiple car's, and has created his own disabled parking spot, which is an misuse of company property within itself, and no one questions this. They have been continually harassing me by leaving notes on my car, demanding proof of disability and now that has escalated into belittling me and my conditions as well as being made out to be selfish. Not once have I called to attention that I must have disabled parking. In fact I am well aware that there is actually no legal disabled parking in Snowberry Close, so no need to actually display a badge as it is not true disabled parking, as it does not conform to standard requirements-however due to increasing pressure from the Minions. I felt I needed to display my badge permanently. However, I was encouraged not to have it on permanent display due to risk to my car being broken into, as someone already ripped my disabled badge sticker off my car, and no one in Snowberry Close displays a badge. My point is, why is it acceptable that I am being pressured into not parking in disabled parking when I truly need it. Yet Jo can design and designate his own parking, and no one would dare to question it or attempt to park in it. We are aware of the area we live in and have always been highly respectful of everyone, but this is uncalled for harassment and it's what happens when you as a company allow others a little bit of leeway and that power goes straight to their heads. Why is it only a select few have access to keys to laundry room? Who in turn, will reinforce their ideals with no leniency to others, not within the "higher" ranking of the estate. Who continuously abuse power, which they were never even entitled to in the first place. We all live in a low economic status area. No, one person is better than any other person here whether they work full-time or don't work at all, this does not put others on a hierarchy, and because Places for People have allowed this to stay the same for years it's the ones that respect others and keep themselves to themselves that get targeted, from uneducated bigots. It's allowing others to get away with feeling they are better than everyone else who lives here, to think it's acceptable to continue to leave horrible notes and touch people's cars and forcibly remove disabled display badge stickers. They have given us a sense of true unease around living here, as we feel it's a total invasion of privacy and to be frank, it is a major safety concern too. The notes left on my vehicle, all have different handwriting, and no names/dates have been given. This needs to be addressed and rectified, and there should not be residents running the estate. It should be Places for People as it is you that has legislations, policies and procedures Places For People have to adhere to. This is becoming too much, and at this point we are considering escalating this to the police, the council, our local MP and the newspapers.

As first time buyers, we had a lovely experience, Charlotte was our sales executive. She went the extra mile, and was extremely patient. She explained everything thoroughly and took us through the process and next steps which was very helpful and reassuring.

The work carried out was done with a minimum amount of mess and disruption. The joiner and plumber treated my house with respect and were professional and friendly at all times. The work was also carried out on the day and time agreed.

My flat needed a complete reconstruction after major water leaks under the floor. A new kitchen/bathroom, new flooring and decoration throughout. My housing officer, Michelle Swan, was amazing getting everything organised and providing alternative accommodation. Michelle's colleague Alex project managed the works. Moving back into my flat was a delight. Everybody did a 100% job.
