Worst housing company I’ve ever had to deal with, damp and mould reported 15 months ago inspector came out still nothing done, complaint put in nothing done went to housing ombudsman and my mp still not doing anything, no telephone calls back. I withheld my rent for a month, they managed to call me, email and text me about that. Now in the hands of a housing solicitors, need to be on the tv show bad landlords

Rent charges are ridiculously high, they claim they supply people with affordable housing and yet are anything but.. bleeding tennants dry every April with rent hikes. They say the service charges they charge on top of the rent are for the upkeep of the area and yet I've never seen anyone upkeeping the area. In a nationwide cost of living crisis their motto is 'charge more, and bleed everyone dry so they can't afford the rent'. Alot of their houses need updating with new boilers, kitchens and bathrooms due to them being old and warn out, mold, even their so called engineers tell tennants that certain things need replacing but nothing gets done. When they do repair things it's always a quick fix to substandard. They never ever replace them apparently due to the cost. Which is laughable considering the amount of houses they have and the rent they charge each tennant. Some tennants live in houses barely suitable to keep a dog. Disgraceful, Greedy, .

Places for People made an offer on our house, as a cash-buyer which we accepted. They did not disclose they actually didn't have the funds for another 4.5 months. They revised their offer,1 month after we had accepted based on a highly questionable valuation. They lead us all to believe they had completed their survey but in fact quietly delayed that for over 2 months. Having given us assurances that all decisions had been made, they then pulled out nearly 3 months later, solely because the cost of putting a couple of tiny wheel chair ramps in and changing a couple of doors for wheelchair access was "too expensive" ... something they could and should have decided before they made an offer. They have taken 3 months of marketing away from us and beaten us into the dirt. We moved out on the basis that they assured us that no further decision was to be taken and the sale would complete. We can now see how a "charity" can pay their CEO c£550K PA ... they are a property business and a highly risky one to deal with. Update 26th Feb 2025: Further to the response below I have eMailed P4P on the email provided asking if they would like to discuss my experience, I await a response and will update this if they get in touch. I suspect there response was automated. Update: As of 10th April - no reply to my eMail on 26th so their "response below" is just an automated "we are nice really" eMail that in fact confirms that they really don't care about anyone other than their own profits.

Appalling customer service with ongoing plumbing problem, mainly by the schedulers. Missed pinned appointments and a P1 issue which should have been sorted within a week, now in its SIX month.

Disgusting company, left with damp and mould since 2023 and no response to emails. Holes in roof since November 2024 left freezing with a newborn and a 3 year old, quick enough at upping your rent but leaving you in disgusting houses. Their communication is dreadful, regularly ignored and fobbed off, cant wait to leave they are a JOKE

I made a formal complaint on 6 January and despite Places for People signing up to the code that I either get a decision or a reason for the delay within 10 days, I've heard nothing after their first response. Don't be fooled by the nice reply you get when posting reviews. But I did get a letter that they want over roughly £1400 from each flat later in the year for lift upgrades. Quick to communicate when I OWE them money.

Places for people builders/carpenters have done an amazing job on making a lovely fence for the front of my flat. I really appreciated how quickly they came out and the great job that they did. My only issue with places for people is the building manager ignores emails directed to her and her manager is the same. I wish that she could be contacted to answer the question whether the cctv in our building is working. Amazon packages occasionally go missing and it would be reassuring to all residents if we could know whether the cctv is working or not.

I worked for places for people as a plasterer. The company states that it has the best interests of there tenants at heart. I dealt with hundreds of customers whilst working there and 80% of them are not satisfied with the service they receive. Customers waiting years for repairs to be done. They have a big mould issue with most of there properties due too most of the time lack of ventilation.where acstractor fans have not been fitted or they don't work. Properties infested with rats mice cockroaches. Places For People are a buisness which like all big businesses only have one thing at heart. Money. How they get away with what they do is criminal. Snakes in suits.

Where do I start ? From the moment I moved in and the woman showing me around forgot to show me the damp although I asked ? It went worse well the damp got as bad as it could get and it took a year and the Ombudsman to sort it, I am now living in the same place but with drug addicts and alcoholics all night long in the other flats Places For People will not help anyone whatsoever they do not care. AND PFP PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR PATHETIC GENERIC ANSWER ON AGAIN

Absolute joke of a company, been waiting 3 years for windows to be fixed, 1 year for electric check, over 10 appointments made and they have either cancelled or not shown up at all costing me huge amounts in loss of earnings, still no resolution, contacted ombudsman, hopefully they can sort this useless company out

Unfair Expectations, Overwhelming Workload, and Constant Technical Issues I’ve been working at a Places for People leisure center, and while I’m committed to providing great service, the pressure on staff is unbearable. Mystery shoppers visit during peak times, like weekends and shift changes, and their reports don’t reflect the reality of our work. Instead of offering constructive feedback, they create unnecessary stress and anxiety. Reception staff are now expected to juggle multiple tasks like sales, emails, phone calls, bookings, and customer inquiries without additional support or compensation. This leads to burnout and high turnover, which makes it even harder for the team to function. Higher management puts immense pressure on smaller managers, who in turn pass that stress onto staff. The company seems more focused on profits and meeting numbers than on supporting staff, which is impacting morale and service quality. On top of that, the system we’re expected to use is constantly failing. It takes ages to load, and the display is difficult to navigate when making sales. The PDQ machine often gives errors, causing issues during cash-ups. These are just a few of the ongoing technical problems that make the job even harder to do properly. It’s time for Places for People to reconsider their approach and start treating employees with the respect they deserve, as the current system is not set up for success.

My son's supported accommodation has water ingress damage - ongoing for over 4 years. Places for people appear to be unable to complete the work needed even after extensive communication on the issues. The management of repair works from my experience is totally incompetent.

This company is a complete joke, very unprofessional and extremely poor with repairs , my ridge roof tiles came off in the wind hit my neighbours roof causing a huge hole and landed in his garden on reporting it I was given a date for in 28 days time totally unacceptable the safety risk for a start and also water damage phoned back to say it wasn’t safe to leave that long got told it was now going to be down as an emergency and someone would be out within 24 hours of course no one turned up phoned back again only to be told it hadn’t been put through as an emergency after explaining the safety issue to them yet again have now been told someone will be out in 24 hours again. Unbelievable that they would leave something thing serious and unsafe is beyond me. I’ve a list a mile long of the terrible service and repairs for the 11 years I’ve been in this house if I could get out I would. How this company are allowed to carry on managing houses I will never understand they are terrible want the rent but not interested in maintaining their properties to a safe and acceptable standard. Poor service is an understatement.

PFP are unresponsive to any mould and damp issues. This has been an ongoing issue for over 10 years! I've complained until I'm blue in the face but nothing ever gets done. I've been waiting for a damp proof course for over 18 months now. Needless to say the Mould and damp has had a big impact on my health. Paying an extortionate amount of rent every month to live in an absolute vile inhabitable mould and damp ridden property is completely unacceptable. I booked time off work today for 3 repair appointments which have been scheduled for over 2 months, and then they were cancelled at 1pm today because no electrician, plumber or joiner were available for any of the repairs. I've also had an email cancelling another repair scheduled for Monday. PFP provided a disgraceful unacceptable service! And our local PFP housing officers are also unresponsive to any emails or phone calls, when asking for help with any important issues. I've raised several complaints, which have all proven to be an absolute waste of my time also. Save yourself a lot of stress, upset, money and time and DO NOT rent a PFP property!
