Lovely home in a great location. Air conditioning was a life saver in the very hot weather.
Our family rented 2 apartments in Rome and Florence through Plum Guide. Both were in great locations, charming and made our family of 4 feel comfortable in each of the cities. We would not hesitate to use Plum Guide again for our future bookings.
This property had everything one would need. One of the bedrooms had a bed that wasn't too comfy, but we got a topper to fix that. Other than that, the service, the location, the cleanliness was all top notch!
My mother, my two small children (ages 3 and 5) and I stayed in Whispering Windsor for about a week. It was perfect. My youngest son called it "our lovely little Windsor home." We would stay there again!
Response to problem was quick and efficient. Worked hard to resolve and came up with a great resolution. Extremely easy to work with,
Plum Guide offers easy communication and well chosen rentals in beautiful locations. I always check their inventory first when traveling abroad.
The worst company I have rented a place from. Beware of deceptive information advertised about their on-line properties. The properties look great on-line, but when you show up the place is very different. They claim to vet the properties, but that is not true. Airbnb is so much better and they provide better customer support. Plum guide won’t respond to issues you may have while staying at a property and they will continue to try to delay helping you until you have to leave. I am writing this review in hoping to prevent others from going through what my family and I went through with this horrible company. They are a small company and it shows. Save yourself the headache and go with a better company.
Excellent! Spacious property for up to four people with lovely outdoor seating area. High quality furnishings and facilities. Easy walk to bus routes and Clapham Junction train station. Plenty of great local restaurants and shops. Quiet safe area. Would definitely stay again.
We loved the location, which was safe and close to the South Kensington stop. There are lots of restaurants, coffee shops and bakery stores near the tube stop. We liked the washer which is easy to operate. The host also provides a large drying rack which is very thoughtful and helpful. We wish there was a dryer in the apartment but the weather was sufficiently dry so our cotton-made clothes were able to dry within 2 days. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We usually use Airbnb but through a British friend we were introduced to Plum Guide. Starting from the check-in process, there are a few major difference from Airbnb. First one is we needed to pick up keys to the apartment from a British style convenient store that was probably one mile away from where the apartment is. Also the store looked a little odd (not a leasing office or property managing company). Then we needed to find a place to store our luggage before 3 pm our check-in time. The choices seemed odd too. But both events went smoothly at the end. The apartment was overall clean but old with paint peeling of the walls. During our stay of 5 nights, we requested new towels or rags to wipe off excessive water on the bathroom Floor b/c the glass of the shower is not fully covered the tub but only 1/3. So every time someone finishes taking a shower, the floor was very wet. We never got any rags or towels to wipe off the water on the floor and keep the floor dry. Then the lights in the living started to blink so we requested new light bulbs. No one supplied us any. After we checked out, Plum Guide told us they would credit us USD50 to compensate unresponsiveness from the landlord to our 2 requests. Finally, right before checking out, we didn’t receive any communication about how we should return the keys. Was it that we could leave them in the apartment or something else. Then I called Plum Guide to find out what we needed to do, just 30 minutes before our Uber arrived, we learned that we needed to return them to the convenient store where we picked up the keys originally. So my hubby pretty much ran for a mile to drop off the keys and rushed back. It was a very stressful situation.
I thought they would allow to provide feedback on the rental so that future travelers can make an informed decision. But after a stay of 5 days in Paris for which I paid > 3,000 euros, I wanted to give feedback about the rental because I think it severely overestimates its worth and the photos were nicer than the reality. The house wasn't family friendly, especially when travelling with young children. I reached out to the company asking about the ability to publicly provided feedback and they replied giving me a 5% reduction on the next booking but still would not allow any public feedback. Based on this, I dont think I'd use their website anymore because I won't trust the quality of what they advertise and overcharge for.
Our experience was great! We really enjoyed the location of the house, its facilities, the tranquility, the spaces of the house. I was with two of my children and we really felt very comfortable and satisfied.
Lovely little apartment, spotlessly clean, great location plus thoughtful touches from owner. Accurate description from Plum Guide. Would use again.
Ashlee from Plum made sure to check in with us and ensure that we were in contact with our hosts which was much more reassuring than other short-stay property rental websites. The rental property was perfect and depicted well on the Plum website - either Plum makes sure they only have high quality rental properties or got lucky - so I'm pretty sure it was the former!
A delightful, well equipped, beautifully appointed cottage for two people situated in a lovely village just north of Hexham and close to Hadrians Wall and the Northumberland National Park. Lovely bed linens and towels with essential toiletries provided and a very comfortable bed, modern well equipped kitchen, the property was spotlessly clean throughout. The owners had left a very thoughtful welcome pack including wine and chocolates. Would definitely recommend this property and top marks too to Plum Guide, and Host and Stay for good customer service with regard to our booking, check in and check out details
We had everything we needed. Alberto was very gracious and informative when meeting us at the home. It was the perfect stay for our trip to Roma.
We really enjoyed our stay at this place. Very elegant and modern apartment with central location. It has all appliances you need with excellent WiFi connectivity. The host is ready to assist and advise whenever you ask. I highly recommend if you visiting Athens.
Check in was so simple and very helpful. Apartment was lovely and exactly as described. Very clean and everything in good working order. Perfect location, with excellent Indonesian restaurant just across the road and lots of other options close by! Had a great stay, will definitely use this website again!
We used the plum guide many years ago to rent an apartment in London for a month and we had a great experience. In November 2023, I started to look around for an apartment in Paris in May of 24 with the plum guide. There were four apartments that looked available based on the dates and information that I entered, but then in the end, when I tried to actually rent them, they were not available; the owners told me that they had already been rented or they weren’t available. Or in one case, the apartment was available, but in the moment that I tried to rent it, the owner changed her mind and decided no. So I ended up feeling like the website was deceptive, or just didn’t work well. At least twice, the website told me that the apartment was available, and I submitted a down payment, and then it wasn’t and I had to wait to get that downpayment back. And I couldn’t make another on an apartment until I did, which sometimes took days/a week, so the whole process just got really messed up and I gave up. I was really disappointed, because the apartments were beautiful, and like I said, we had a great experience renting with the Plum Guide in London in 2018.
Plum Guide’s approach to short term rentals is refreshing — no games with pricing and their “home truths” are honest and informative. I don’t need thousands of options - just some good options to consider. It really feels like Plum Guide has done a lot of the work for me by selecting properties that are good options and providing objective information on which to make a decision. It feels like Plum Guide earns their commission where others just throw everything out there for you to muddle through on your own.

Aug 07,2024The people at Plum Guide are very clear communicators, so the apartment we stayed in was exactly what we had been told it would be. The range of apartments to choose from on the Plum Guide website was terrific, and the apartment we stayed in was perfect for our two week trip to London. It was sparkling clean. We were greeted on arrival and taken through everything we needed to know, like how to use the oven and the washing machine. We had a couple of queries in the first few days, and all of them were answered very promptly.
