The host never contacted us to let us know the check-in process. We followed up using the call host button in the Plum Guide app but the number wasn’t correctly configured. We tried many messages using the message host button and they never responded. We were later told that they didn’t know how to use the Plum Guide system. I messaged Plum Guide in their app many times with no response till the next day. Late that night I had to find a hotel room somewhere else for my family. Then it still took several hours to get into our accomodation the next day. The property was advertised as “parking available”. Guess what, no parking. We had to park in a parking garage a 20 minute walk away. Plum Guide say they vet their hosts well. They don’t! Using the Plum Guide message app it says they typically respond in 20 minutes. They don’t. We only got a response during London business hours. All in all the worst travelling experience I have ever had. An utterly inept host. We will never use Plum Guide again and warn you not to either…

Plum guide helped make my vacation so smooth. Easy booking, good knowing that the places we booked were selected using their criteria. We had great stays at both flats. Would definitely use again. One suggestion is it would be good to have reviews.
Reliable. Appropriate description of the apartment. Clear instructions for the reservation and the payments. Someone to contact by phone a few days before arrival. An agent at the door as we arrived, to let us in and provide information.
It’s definitely a better service than airb&b. The flat was exactly as described, the host was wonderful and the keys easy to get. Clean, reasonably priced and easy. Will do again.

Soothing Sea Air SCAM! Just tried to book Soothing Sea Air in Salcombe through Plum Guide and managed to negotiate a discount price of £2500 with the owner Matt via their web message only to have the owner go back on that offer within half an hour and he has increased the price up to £3000 saying I have to book within 15 mins to get that price! Obviously did not go ahead as it looks like a scam. Contacted Plum Guide who were apologetic but said there was nothing they could do. Won't be booking with them again.
We booked two places through Plum Guide during our recent Europe trip (June 2024). We started using Plum guide because they say they inspect the places themselves and reject anything that doesn’t meet the standard. Our experience with both the apartments were horrible! Specially the place we booked in Paris was expensive but didn’t meet the expectations in terms of space or cleanliness. In addition to lack of quality, Plum guide team doesn’t respond to you in a timely manner either. I had got locked out of my account and was trying to reset password and it was failing. They didn’t respond to me for two days even though I needed urgent assistance to be able to communicate with the host via plum guide login. Will not use this service ever again!
The first paragraph of the listing promised a beach a 10minute walk away from the villa, and then the photos showed a gorgeous sandy beach - you can imagine we were disappointed when we discovered the beach was actually 30minutes away in a car! We booked with Plum because they advertise how their listings are vetted, so this felt particularly disappointing. I did then contact Plum (as you can see from their response to my original post below), and they both acknowledged the mistake and took steps to rectify it as much as possible (some compensation/refund, and making sure the listing was changed going forward), which felt a good and positive response, and left me feeling that while there had been an issue for us that was something unusual and that they took seriously.
We have been working with PlumGuide for two years now, and they really are great! Always available and helpful, they provide excellent assistance both with our guests and administrative matters. Reliable, punctual, and courteous in every communication exchanged.
great experience and home
The apartment was great for our needs, eight people, five bedrooms; no small task to find in paris. This is the fourth or fifth time I've rented a Plumb Guide property in paris. I've never been disappointed. I know what I'm getting, no surprises and excellent communication with the property owner. They do a terrific job vetting their properties.
A really good selection of properties, an easy booking process and good communication both before and after our trip. The quality of the properties we have stayed in tell me that there is real effort made to source the properties on their website and the important things to know also make them standout from their competition.
The property was beautiful and just as described. Plum Guide was very easy to use.
We rented Gran Via Retreat in Barcelona for 5 days at the beginning of June. While there we experienced a severe water leak followed by a lack of hot water for two days. Additionally, the drain in another bathroom was completely clogged from day one preventing anyone from using that shower. While I cannot recommend this apartment due to this experience ultimately Plum Guide did respond to my concerns and issued a 20% refund. More importantly, the host and properties are being re-evaluated as to their inclusion on Plum Guide's website.

Jul 09,2024I have used Plum Guide twice now and both times were positive experiences. The houses we have booked have been much more reliably accurate to their listing details than our experiences with Airbnb and VRBO so I will be using Plum Guide as my first choice going forward.
