We had a truly relaxing few days in Shropshire. The cabin has just about everything you can think of and the location and view is superb. We really valued staying all three nights and hope to make this an annual trip. My only request would be to open a site nearer London too, so we could access this more frequently!

Rest and wild have created the most wonderful retreat. Silence save for the owls in the evening. The views are spectacular. The location exquisite. Outstanding communication And the shower!!! In the middle of nowhere a fantastic shower ! So many small details. So glad to have had this experience. I cannot wait to get another trip booked.

Just back from a 2 night stay in the Nightingale. The views were incredible and the cabin well thought out and decorated. Bed was super comfy, shower was excellent, bath was perfect and the cabin itself smelt incredible. I was also happy to see that we had additional outdoor seating (see previous reviews). It was a very windy evening on our first night so it took a great deal of effort to light the fire to cook on - just as a heads up for guests who intend to cook: take something that can be heated up inside as a backup! I have never seen as many stars as I did from the huge window whilst lying in bed. It was also really lovely to see the sheep so at home despite us invading their space. We didn’t download the walks before we went and did not have enough signal to access them whilst there. I think it would be nice to have a laminated print out of the R+W walks in the cabin if it’s a feasible option just so it’s accessible for people who forget like we did! We would love to visit again, maybe in the autumn to see the trees in a different state. We would arm ourselves with stew to cook on the well equipped indoor kitchen having learned from our attempt at windy evening fire pit cooking!

Fantastic rural retreat, complete peace & quiet. No noise (other than sheep!), no internet, no TV. Huge copper bath to relax in under the trees. Will definitely be back

This place is truly as amazing as people say it is. We've had quite a few staycations that are similar to the Rest + Wild huts, but this one was on another level. The views, the environment, the experience! We stayed in the Nightingale and the view of Clee Hill is breathtaking, whether you're looking out from the bath or the bed - it's really quite something. The decor of this place is something else that stood out for us, the attention to detail made it feel very considered and thought-out (I was disappointed to see the lime wash walls had been painted over, but I presume this was for up-keep). Our only negative feedback was the lack of seating outside, the deck was crying out for some cosy chairs (I do think this hut should have what the Wren has, considering they're the same rate). We also had a bulb that didn't work in the lamp above the bed, which was a shame! Also beware, the trip from the car parking space to the hut, with the trolley, can be interesting. My advice would be travel light or do the hampers.. as you could end up chasing your shopping down the hill when the trolley tips up! We'd 100% recommend staying here and would love to return, although we're looking forward to seeing how the new location will compare - amazing I am sure as these guys have really outdone themselves with the Rest + Wild huts!

We stayed for three nights in the Robin to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was totally magical, the outside bath was a particular highlight! The cabins are amazing, as is the rolling countryside. Quite frankly, we didn’t want to leave!

What a wonderful location and excellent attention to detail in the cabin. Just the right amount of luxury and comfort. We really switched off and couldn’t get enough of the vista of rolling hills which truly became our TV for 3 days (and we didn’t miss our TV at all!) Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Nightingale for two nights. The accommodation was excellent, finished to a high standard. The views were stunning. We had complete privacy for the duration of our stay, apart from the friendly sheep. Loved the outdoor bath and countryside. We are looking forward to staying again.

Totally unrestful and wildly expensive There is no one managing this business. Our food hampers did not arrive. We left after one night, exhausted and hungry. The website is full of alluring photos but do not trust them. Website also states that Dogs Are Welcome, but the cabins are IN the sheep fields which does not work for some dogs...

We had a wonderful time in the Sparrow cabin at Rest+Wild. We cooked outside on the fit pit, bathed outside in the glorious copper bath and sat outside in the evenings. The big bed was so comfortable and what an amazing view to keep us entertained. Everything is there that you need. We would recommend a stay to anyone.

We've just spent a week in the "Robin" cabin. Very comfortable, fantastic views and so quiet! Sainsbury's and Tesco's not far away in Ludlow, so no need to bring any provisions, if (like us) doing a lot of self catering. Great to sit around the fire pit, after excursions during the day in the lovely countryside, and just gaze at the stunning views and soak up the silence (apart from the occasional sheep-bleating!). Good idea to bring a couple of camping chairs. Confess to not having tried the outdoor bath - maybe next time!

Wonderful stay in the Rest + Wild Nightingale cabin, the spot is easy to find and well signposted. The cabin itself is just perfect with everything you need and the most beautiful bed linen ever! Zero wifi and very limited 4G allowed us to really relax and switch off. Top tip- bring some camping chairs with you for sitting out around the fire pit on an evening. There is a picnic table with benches but it’s nice to have a cosy chair for star gazing!

What a magical place Rest and Wild in Downton is. We've just spent 2 nights in the Wren and loved the whole experience. Being tucked away in such a private space, waking up in a comfortable bed looking out over the stunning countryside. So good to switch off and enjoy outdoor living, bathing outside in the sunshine, cooking over the firepit and sitting outside till it got dark. Even the rain didn't dampen out spirits. It was lovely to listen to the sound of rain while feeling warm inside the beautiful cabin. Such great attention to detail. Loved it all so much.

We had an amazing stay at the Sparrow, Rest & Wild over Jubillee 2022 weekend. Super relaxing and perfect in both the hot weather that started the weekend as much as listening to the rain against the windows towards the end of the weekend. The perfect getaway from the daily grind it was just what we needed. The cabin had all the utilities we needed and we made use of both the kitchen hob and the outdoor firepit. Great shower and super comfy bed with stunning views to wake up to. The outdoor bath was gorgeous and so peaceful. Tesco Ludlow a 12 minute drive away meant could nip out daily for a top up for any essentials - just make sure you validate your parking (not many Tesco's do this so be careful not to get caught out!) Perfect for our pooch - our little Boston Terrier / Frenchie cross loved the stay just as much as us. She particularly enjoyed the provided 'peg in the ground' corkscrew so we could attach her 10m lead to this and give the freedom to roam safely. She also found the sheep super fascinating! All in all a wonderful retreat for couples, with the option of bringing the dog along too :)

Rest & Wild We spent a truly magical weekend in the Wren near Downton Hall. The cabin was amazing, beautifully designed and well equipped with an outstanding view from the main window. The bronze worktops, the kettle and teapot, the iron skillet frying pan were all perfect. The bed linen and duvet were luxurious. Having the electric lights was great. The shower was lovely and hot and the lotions were all beautiful. We loved the firepit and the plentiful supply of logs. We sat out by the fire until quite late on each of our three nights. The daytime view of the surrounding countryside was extremely beautiful and added to a sense of calm and peacefulness. Richard & Jenny Lewis Bingley, West Yorkshire

Had a fantastically relaxing stay in the Wren cabin at the end of May. Not only was the countryside spectacular, but the cabin itself was great and had all the equipment and facilities for a comfortable stay. Close enough to Ludlow but far enough away for complete privacy and peace. We followed R&W walk 2 which was really enjoyable and the outside firepit was great for kicking back and having a few drinks and some food. Would highly recommend staying here to truly unwind and relax.

We had a few nights stay in the Nightingale, it was so peaceful with stunning views, surrounded by nature. The outdoor bath with the views was just dreamy. Pizza from the deli cooked in pizza oven was also amazing. Loved every minute of our mini getaway!

We had an amazing stay at Rest + Wild and would highly recommend booking a stay. The estate and cabins are beautiful. The cabins have everything you need - pots, pans, crockery, fridge, etc. The huge drawers under the bed were really helpful for storing luggage. We took the dog, and it was perfect - on arrival there was a dog bowl and a stake to attach him to outside, as well as some great walks. Some lovely touches, such as a pizza oven, divine room diffusers and good quality toiletries. It’s the perfect location to just switch off for a few days, but there are amenities close by if you need them. The team were lovely too - thanks to Tara for checking in to make sure we’d got the pizza kit/oven. We will definitely be back, thanks so much for a wonderful stay.
